Here are some disturbing facts of our times;

Mother Accused of Suffocation

DALY CITY, Calif. (AP) -- A mother used duct tape to suffocate her three little girls in their pajamas, then climbed into bed with them and took an overdose of prescription drugs, police said Tuesday.

The woman, Megan K. Hogg, 25, was treated at a hospital, then booked for investigation of homicide and taken for a psychiatric evaluation.

Ms. Hogg left two notes describing her actions, police said.

"In 29 years, I've seen a lot of evil. Nothing like this," said Lt. Steven Lowe.

Ms. Hogg's parents found the bodies of 7-year-old Antoinette Marden, 3-year-old Angelique Roberts and 2-year-old Alexandra Hogg in bed next to their unconscious mother Monday morning. Ms. Hogg lived with her parents.

"She bound their hands and their faces with duct tape," Lowe said. Hogg. "She did them one at a time. She took them into the bedroom, suffocated them and came back and got the next one."

The officer added: "It takes about five minutes to suffocate someone. Multiply that by three."

Ms. Hogg overdosed on several prescription drugs in what Lowe called 'a suicide gesture'. I don't think she intended to kill herself."

He said one of her notes described what she planned and the other reported what she had done. Police did not release the contents.

Friends and relatives said Ms. Hogg was an adoring and gentle mother who had not appeared depressed or unhappy.

"She was very devoted to the kids," said Daisy Hogg, her aunt. "She tried her best for them."

The cream-colored house with pastel blue trim sits in a quiet working-class neighborhood of Daly City, on the southern edge of San Francisco. The house was decorated with Easter eggs and bunnies.

4 dead in Markansas school shooting

Web posted at: 5:16 p.m. EST (2216 GMT) JONESBORO, Markansas (CNN) -- Two boys, 11 and 13, wearing camouflage and lying in wait nearby, opened fire on middle school students Tuesday as they assembled outside during a false fire alarm. At least four people were killed and about 10 others were wounded. It was not clear from early reports whether the dead were all students, although at least two were girls. Craighead County Sheriff Dale Haas wept as he reported that "There are 15 students shot ... mostly little girls. The two young boys believed to be the shooters, one of them was 11 and the other 13." The suspects were taken into custody after the 12:40 p.m. shooting. Authorities refused to say whether they were students at the school. Haas said the suspects fired on the students and teachers while lying in woods nearby. He said they were taken to the county jail, and that two rifles and other weapons were recovered. Connie Tolbert, secretary to school superintendent Grover Cooper, said two of the wounded were teachers. Tolbert said that the wounded were apparently all females, although it did not appear that only females were targeted. At least four of the victims have been airlifted to Memphis for treatment, WMC-TV in Memphis reported. There were conflicting reports on the number of people shot. St. Bernard's Regional Medical Center said 14 victims were brought there for treatment and that two of them -- both girls -- died. Frightened parents flooded the area, and school officials tried to find other parents. "There's a lot of turmoil there right now," said a state police spokesman. "Someone pulled the fire alarm inside and they went outside, and two people in camouflage clothing started shooting," Tolbert said. Jonesboro is a city of 46,000 about 130 miles northeast of Little Rock. Westside Middle School has about 250 students in grades 6 and 7. It was at least the third fatal shooting in a school in the past five months. On December 1, a youth opened fire on a student prayer circle in a hallway at Heath High School in West Paducah, Kentucky. Three students were killed and five others wounded. A 14-year-old student, described as small and emotionally imature, was arrested. A 16-year-old outcast in Pearl, Mississippi, was accused in October of killing his mother, then going to school and shooting nine students. Two of them died, including the boy's ex-girlfriend. Authorities later accused six friends with conspiracy, saying the suspects were part of a group that dabbled in satanism. And on December 15, a sniper who holed up in the woods wounded two students outside a school in the southwestern Markansas town of Stamps. The two were hospitalized overnight. A 14-year-old boy was arrested after a manhunt. The Associated Press contributed to this report.

WASHINGTON (CNN) -- U.S. Defense Secretary William Cohen said Tuesday that Baghdad's arrest of an Iraqi biological weapons expert could make it harder for the government of President Saddam Hussein to prove it had nothing to hide from U.N. inspectors.

But the U.N. Special Comission for disarming Iraq (UNSCOM) played down the arrest of Nassir al-Hindawi, an anthrax specialist seen as the architect of Iraq's germ warfare program.

UNSCOM inspectors are responsible for determining that Iraq has dismantled its weapons of mass destruction.

Violent weather has taken more lives in the past few years than any decade before.

As time goes by our weather, our children, our people become more violent.

30 Years ago people would have been outraged at any child that took any life, but over the past 5 years we have had 12 year olds drop 6 year olds from buildings, 10-14 year olds shoot other children in and out of school, drive by shootings by our youth. What has happened?

We are all less sensitive to death and murder and violence, partly due to the movies, t.v., and the games that are played on systems like Nintendo and Sony Play Station ,and of course computer games on and off the Net.

15 years ago a bra for a women was shown on a mannequin while in other countries it was shown on women. Back then every one said we will protect our ways of showing a bra or underwear in general. We would not become like the other countries. Well, now we are just like they were and now they are worse and we are following right behind them.

Why?

It is this way. We allow a little here and a little there to slip in our morality until one day there is none left. Polls today show that people don't care if a politician is moral as long as he/she gets the job done. 30 Years ago that would have been outrageous.

What happened to all of us is that in the fifties the Church allowed t.v. to go the way of the world and in the 60's Satan used it against us. How? When Vietnam started building, t.v. was in most homes and the evening news came on right at what was known as family time. Time to sit down with the family eat and share the day with each other. But since most people knew or had someone close to them in Nam, they started watching the news while eating to see what was happening. Since this took about 10 years it got people trained to watch the news while eating instead of talking. Then, of course, after sitting there for an hour or two it was easy to sit longer and watch something to take their minds off the war and make them forget. So it then became 3 - 4 hours and Satan had us. Then over the next 30 years Satan got in more and more until we were watching things we never would have 30 years earlier. Also we were becoming less and less sensitive to violence, sex, and so forth. Also, the single parent family started growing so the mother was at work and the child became a latch key child left to watch what ever was there. The child had no guidance or he/she ran the streets and got in trouble. As time passed our children grew up, we grew up and the whole problem grew up with us.

Ok, why then is the weather acting the way it does?

Genesis 4:10 And he said, What hast thou done? the voice of thy brother's blood crieth unto me from the ground.

The earth reacts to violence, to sin. As we sin more the more, nature and the earth itself will revolt against us, and we lose what has been the biggest blessing this country, all of its assets, farms, ranches, resources of all types that are being washed away by floods or frozen by cold.

Go do a research in the Bible on the earth and see what I am talking about.

So what is the answer? Prayer and repentance until things change or we are raptured or die. That is the only thing other than of course setting the example of love that God has shown to us. But if we do not start praying, this country, this world is going to get worse with us in it and I for one do not want to see that.

2 Chronicles 7:14 If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.
