![]() Mary Had a... God is Love Are You Christ Like Word from Pastor Jerry Seeking Hope, Need Faith?
Today hope is lacking for many. Most wonder why things happen to them, job loss, home foreclosure, price of living going up, no health insurance, prescriptions that are out of reach for many. Loss of a loved one, and so many other problems that seem to be hampering many from just surviving.
Then there are those who count on government support programs, the problem is most make more than the max. allowed to qualify.
The only true hope comes from faith in God, today faith of this nature is hard to come by, yes many have blind faith. But blind faith is the same as walking a narrow pier over water in the dark chances are in time they walk off the pier and most survive but only after suffering much trying to get back on the pier
Hosea 4 6. My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge: because thou hast rejected knowledge, I will also reject thee, that thou shalt be no priest to me: seeing thou hast forgotten the law of thy God, I will also forget thy children.
Satan knows that if he can keep us in the dark he has control over us and he can keep us from not believing but having us doubt our faith, doubt God, and believe God does all this to us.
Example: You own a castle and it has no way in and no one can enter unless you allow them, Now imagine that you have wholes in your walls around your castle you never repair so who's fault is it that the enemy gets in to your castle, yours, or God''s? Of course yours you had control over the castle but you ignored the walls. So what happens is the enemy gets in one here and one there not enough to over power you totally but enough to attack you and keep you in defensive mode and making you doubt your castle.
Matthew 14 24. But the ship was now in the midst of the sea, tossed with waves: for the wind was contrary. 25. And in the fourth watch of the night Jesus went unto them, walking on the sea.
Notice Jesus walked on the sea even during a storm.
Luke 8 23. But as they sailed he fell asleep: and there came down a storm of wind on the lake; and they were filled with water, and were in jeopardy. 24. And they came to him, and awoke him, saying, Master, master, we perish. Then he arose, and rebuked the wind and the raging of the water: and they ceased, and there was a calm.
Jesus slept through the storm, the storm did not pass Him by, it just did not phase Him at all.
John 14 12. Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me, the works that I do shall he do also; and greater works than these shall he do; because I go unto my Father.
So if He could sleep through the storm, we can go through the storms and not just survive but do even better.
Hebrews 10 35. Cast not away therefore your confidence, which hath great recompence of reward. 36. For ye have need of patience, that, after ye have done the will of God, ye might receive the promise. 37. For yet a little while, and he that shall come will come, and will not tarry. 38. Now the just shall live by faith: but if any man draw back, my soul shall have no pleasure in him. 39. But we are not of them who draw back unto perdition; but of them that believe to the saving of the soul.
Hebrews 11 1. Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.
Faith is your confidence of things expected and the proof of what is not seen. Such as Jesus rebuking the seas and wind.
James 1 3. Knowing this, that the trying of your faith worketh patience. 4. But let patience have her perfect work, that ye may be perfect and entire, wanting nothing.
Faith and patience work together, when you have no patience your faith is weak, but when you have patience your faith grows.
Some things we depend on faith for requires patience for faith to work and we need patience to grow faith because faith comes by knowledge and knowledge takes time.
Romans 10 17. So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.
So by reading the word and allowing the Holy Spirit to teach you, your faith will increase and your hope will change from a wish to expectancy.
John 14 26. But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you.
Hebrews 11 6. But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him.
Compare Hebrews 11:1 to Hebrews 10:35-36 and then to Matthew 6:33. (Continue) | Hope-Faith (continued)Hebrews 10 35. Cast not away therefore your confidence, which hath great recompence of reward. 36. For ye have need of patience, that, after ye have done the will of God, ye might receive the promise.
Here is where you start, by belief in the Lord, exceptance of Jesus as the way and patience along with reading the word to grow your faith. Knowing that in time all will work out based on your faith.
Matthew 6 33. But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.
Know this I can testify to faith working and all workinng out, I was born in 1952 I have survived the 60's, Nam, many loved ones some young passing on, debt, lack, heallth issues, raising a family through three major recessions, one child with cancer, many back surgeries and more. And each time I have come out on top and each time my patience has been put to the test and grown. So now my faith is stronger than ever and still growing. When we are young we have very strong bones and a lot of energy and when we are old our bones are not as strong and we have very little energy. Now if it was weak bones and a lot of energy when we are young we would never survive to be come old. As we are young our faith is weak and we survive with weak faith because we can weather the ups and downs more. But as we get older and life wears us down if we have weak faith then we would give up and not survive. But now a days Satan has us caught in a trap where we are to busy or to entertained by television, movies, games, etc to spend time with the Lord, read His word and we do not survive.
James 1 22. But be ye doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving your own selves.
To start with judge not (Matthew 7:1-5) and forgive all, pray the Lord's prayer often (Matthew 6).
Matthew 22 36. Master, which is the great commandment in the law? 37. Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind. 38. This is the first and great commandment. 39. And the second is like unto it, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself. 40. On these two commandments hang all the law and the prophets.
Doers of the world love all, do not judge and forgive all. This is not easy to do, it takes time to grow into (some will be able to from day 1).
3 John 1 2. Beloved, I wish above all things that thou mayest prosper and be in health, even as thy soul prospereth. Faith Verses, Need More click here! Basics
Salvation
Matthew 10:32 "Whosoever therefore shall confess me before men, him will I confess also before my Father which is in heaven." John 14:26 "But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you." (Also read I John 2:27)
False Teachers, Prophets, Leaders
Matthew 24:23 "Then if any man shall say unto you, Lo, here is Christ, or there; believe it not."
Anti christ
Revelation 3:19 "As many as I love, I rebuke and chasten: be zealous therefore, and repent." "As many as I love" based on John 3:16 that is everyone, "I rebuke" that means the spirit (directly or in-directly through subconscious) convicts us of the errors of our ways. This may take some a short while, while others it may take their entire life, for me it was 23 years. "and chasten" meaning to educate to a new way of living, "be zealous therefore" to have a new heart towards the Lord. "and repent" means to do a 180 from where we were before. So the Lord will convict us of the errors of our ways, educate us to a new way, help us develop a new understanding about Him and turn us 180 so we are no longer on the wide path to destruction. Notice He does not say man will do this, but that He will.
Revelation 3:20 "Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me."
Revelation 3:21 "To him that overcometh will I grant to sit with me in my throne, even as I also overcame, and am set down with my Father in his throne."

God’s Gifts For You 1. His Love for You 2. Life 3. Life - a new through Jesus 4. All of His Creation 5. Faith Ephesians 2 8. For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: 9. Not of works, lest any man should boast. Gift of Love John 3 16. For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. 17. For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved. God is Love, He loves you and me and that is what life is really about.
Love thy Neighbour Luke 10 29. But he, willing to justify himself, said unto Jesus, And who is my neighbour? 30. And Jesus answering said, A certain man went down from Jerusalem to Jericho, and fell among thieves, which stripped him of his raiment, and wounded him, and departed, leaving him half dead. 31. And by chance there came down a certain priest that way: and when he saw him, he passed by on the other side. 32. And likewise a Levite, when he was at the place, came and looked on him, and passed by on the other side. 33. But a certain Samaritan, as he journeyed, came where he was: and when he saw him, he had compassion on him, 34. And went to him, and bound up his wounds, pouring in oil and wine, and set him on his own beast, and brought him to an inn, and took care of him. 35. And on the morrow when he departed, he took out two pence, and gave them to the host, and said unto him, Take care of him; and whatsoever thou spendest more, when I come again, I will repay thee. 36. Which now of these three, thinkest thou, was neighbour unto him that fell among the thieves? 37. And he said, He that shewed mercy on him. Then said Jesus unto him, Go, and do thou likewise. Faith Comes by Hearing (Romans 10:17) John 14 26. But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you. PRAYER ROCK
