He got out his spare tire and tools to change the tire.

In his haste he accidentally lost two of the lug nuts for the tire and had only 3 left.

So he decided it would be unsafe to drive, so he was going to walk to a station and get some spare lug nuts.

As he was preparing to leave a man on the other side of a fence asked him what he was about to do?

The man said I lost two of the lug nuts so I must walk to a station and get some more.

The man on the other side of the fence said instead of doing that why don't you just place a lug nut on every other space, leaving only one open in every other spot. This way if you drive slowly, you can drive instead of walking to a station.

The man asked why are you in the asylum?

And the man on the other side of the fence said I am crazy, but I am not stupid.
