Faith

Pastor Jerry Wilhite, Author

The next 6 pages will take you through the word of God in Faith. If you really to have faith and have it work in your life this is the first step.

Faith is something that seems elusive to most people. There are those who try it and say they tried it and it did not work. The reason most can not get it to work is they did not give it long enough. I have heard from so many who stated they did not see anything in faith. With most the problem is they do not give it long enough or they wait until it is to late.

Most, say about 90% of people who try faith or turn to faith do so only when they have no where else to turn.

As with anything of importance, it takes time to develop. For true faith to work it takes time, anywhere from 1 year to 10 years. That is if you are trying at all; the more time dedicated to faith the faster it will come. There are two factors to faith, time and the word. Yes, the word of God. It is the primary key, but for the word to work it takes time.

Romans 10

So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.

Let me help you with this verse:

John 1

1. In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.

2. The same was in the beginning with God.

3. All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made.

4. In him was life; and the life was the light of men.

5. And the light shineth in darkness; and the darkness comprehended it not.

And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth.

So the word was part of creation; nothing was created without the word. So if all of creation was brought about via the word, then how much more will it bring to you? Notice that the word became flesh, and dwelt among us.

So faith comes by hearing and understanding by Jesus.

John 14

But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you.

1 John 2

But the anointing which ye have received of him abideth in you, and ye need not that any man teach you: but as the same anointing teacheth you of all things, and is truth, and is no lie, and even as it hath taught you, ye shall abide in him.

Now understand that Christ is from a Greek word Christos (not the title or name of Jesus, but what He was). We call it Christ and in English it means "anointing".

Imagine a dry sponge that never has been used, then place it in a bowl of water. What happens to the sponge is what happens to us with the Spirit of God once we are of Christ, of the anointing.

The name Jesus in itself means "salvation". Once you are of Jesus you are saved, but you are not of the church or the body of Christ yet.

In Matthew 18 we are told what church is:

15. He saith unto them, But whom say ye that I am?

16. And Simon answered and said, Thou art the Christ, the Son of the living God.

17. And Jesus answered and said unto him, Blessed art thou, Simon Barjona: for flesh and blood hath not revealed it unto thee, but my Father which is in heaven.

And I say also unto thee, That thou art Peter (the word for Peter is Petros or piece of the rock), and upon this rock (the word for rock is Petra or bedrock) I will build my church; and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it.

Strong's Ref. # 4074

Romanized Petros

Pronounced pet'-ros

a primary word; a (piece of) rock (larger than GSN3037); as a name, Petrus, an apostle:

KJV--Peter, rock. Compare GSN2786.

Strong's Ref. # 4073

Romanized petra

Pronounced pet'-ra

feminine of the same as GSN4074; a (mass of) rock (literally or figuratively):

KJV--rock.

We become part of the rock (church) when God reveals to us who Jesus is as the Christ and the true Son of God.

Now with this revelation we go from being saved and of Jesus with a connection to God in our spirit to having His Spirit in us. It is due to salvation that we have this connection and can grow into the church, but then there is still one more step, the infilling of the Spirit of God in, on and through us. When you are of the body of Christ you are then anointed with God's Spirit. We have the Spirit of God in, on and through us, where before we only had it in us.

1 Corinthians 1

But unto them which are called, both Jews and Greeks, Christ the power of God, and the wisdom of God.

Notice about that Christ is the power and wisdom of God, not the church or Jesus, but Christ. Remember Jesus said He never said anything of Himself, but only that which the Father told Him.

John 5

Then answered Jesus and said unto them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, The Son can do nothing of himself, but what he seeth the Father do: for what things soever he doeth, these also doeth the Son likewise.

John 6

Then Jesus said unto them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Moses gave you not that bread from heaven; but my Father giveth you the true bread from heaven.

John 12

For I have not spoken of myself; but the Father which sent me, he gave me a comandment, what I should say, and what I should speak.

And I know that his comandment is life everlasting: whatsoever I speak therefore, even as the Father said unto me, so I speak.

John 14

He that loveth me not keepeth not my sayings: and the word which ye hear is not mine, but the Father's which sent me.

When reading the book of Revelation (which deals with the tribulation) you will notice that it is addressed to the Church not the Body of Christ.

Now as you grow, you grow in relationship with God almighty, but it will be more with your Heavenly Father and Abba (Daddy) than with God as creator. As this happens all is revealed, and the power grows as does your faith.

Imagine a gun and the power of a gun, now the gun without bullets is nothing. Faith without power is nothing. The power is in the word, and the word is the power. Once this is understood then you learn to use faith and have the power of faith at your disposal.

Of course there is blind faith as used by the centurion.

Matthew 8

And when Jesus was entered into Capernaum, there came unto him a centurion, beseeching him,

And saying, Lord, my servant lieth at home sick of the palsy, grievously tormented.

And Jesus saith unto him, I will come and heal him.

The centurion answered and said, Lord, I am not worthy that thou shouldest come under my roof: but speak the word only, and my servant shall be healed.

For I am a man under authority, having soldiers under me: and I say to this man, Go, and he goeth; and to another, Come, and he cometh; and to my servant, Do this, and he doeth it.

When Jesus heard it, he marvelled, and said to them that followed, Verily I say unto you, I have not found so great faith, no, not in Israel.

If you can live by faith as the centurion did, that’s great, but most need to understand and from understanding then can believe and work in faith. The shame for all of us is that we have to grow and learn before we can operate in true faith. True faith is believing without doubt.

If a person spends 1 hour a day in the word, and prayer, mostly listening, then, in time, from the word will come understanding and with understanding will come power.

No way can one understand without the Spirit of God explaining. This is why there are so many different denominations and beliefs. Instead of understanding through the Spirit of God they learned by interpreting the word of God. When the Spirit of God is not involved then only interpretation is the end result.

So start with asking for the infilling, the anointing of God's Spirit in, on and through each of us. Then spend time listening to the voice of God. At first it is a faint, still voice in the distance. For some that will not even come for a long time, but when it does keep listening until you hear from God well and know it is God.

1 John 4

Beloved, believe not every spirit, but try the spirits whether they are of God: because many false prophets are gone out into the world.

Hereby know ye the Spirit of God: Every spirit that confesseth that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is of God:

And every spirit that confesseth not that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is not of God: and this is that spirit of antichrist, whereof ye have heard that it should come; and even now already is it in the world.

The better you hear the more you will hear, and the more you will know.

Romans 8

16. The Spirit itself beareth witness with our spirit, that we are the children of God:

So even our salvation is dependant on us hearing from God. Or at least our knowledge of our salvation is dependant on hearing.

Mark 4

And he said unto them, Unto you it is given to know the mystery of the kingdom of God: but unto them that are without, all these things are done in parables:

That seeing they may see, and not perceive; and hearing they may hear, and not understand; lest at any time they should be converted, and their sins should be forgiven them.

And he said unto them, Know ye not this parable? and how then will ye know all parables?

The sower soweth the word.

And these are they by the way side, where the word is sown; but when they have heard, Satan cometh imediately, and taketh away the word that was sown in their hearts.

And these are they likewise which are sown on stony ground; who, when they have heard the word, imediately receive it with gladness;

And have no root in themselves, and so endure but for a time: afterward, when affliction or persecution ariseth for the word's sake, imediately they are offended.

And these are they which are sown among thorns; such as hear the word,

And the cares of this world, and the deceitfulness of riches, and the lusts of other things entering in, choke the word, and it becometh unfruitful.

And these are they which are sown on good ground; such as hear the word, and receive it, and bring forth fruit, some thirtyfold, some sixty, and some an hundred.

And he said unto them, Is a candle brought to be put under a bushel, or under a bed? and not to be set on a candlestick?

For there is nothing hid, which shall not be manifested; neither was any thing kept secret, but that it should come abroad.

If any man have ears to hear, let him hear.

And he said unto them, Take heed what ye hear: with what measure ye mete, it shall be measured to you: and unto you that hear shall more be given.

For he that hath, to him shall be given: and he that hath not, from him shall be taken even that which he hath.

And he said, So is the kingdom of God, as if a man should cast seed into the ground;

There is so much to learn, but understand there are 3 steps to life. Like with a pregnancy there is 3 trimesters the same is true about real life.

Step 1 In the womb our sex is determined.

Step 2 Our place in the real life is determined, born again or not.

Step 3 The Real life begins, either in the next earth (new earth) or Hell then lake of fire.

What you need to understand now to start is that this life is a lot like the last life in the womb. As is with both the universe of each, as compared to the next, is much smaller. In the womb the universe to the baby is the womb, so compare that to this universe, then you can understand that this universe to the next is about the same in comparison.

The same goes for the length of life, from last of 9 months to about 120 years in this, to eternity in the next. The comparisons continue; read Revelation 19-21 for the size of the next earth and that there is a new earth, new heaven, new Jerusalem. The size difference between the new and old Jerusalem would make the new earth about 10 million times the size of this earth.

Imagine walking the new earth, to walk the old earth (every sq inch) would take about 1000 years, now multiply that by 10 million and you have eternity just to walk the new earth, enjoy the landscape, the scenery, etc.

If you read Malachi 3:10-12 and then Mark 4:12-18 you will see where the tithe can and will increase your knowledge of the word and of God. The tithe is more than just giving 10% to a church, it is a way for God to have authority in your life over all that matters, your income, your growth, even relationships.
