The Year Of The Lord

The year of jubilee is also known as the year of the Lord. There are 7 time spans of 7, plus 1 and that is the year of Jubilee. It is a release from all debts. It is a year of increase, praise, and worship. To give you an idea of how, in the old testament, the year of the Lord worked, here is what a Christian Rabbi teaches. I believe it was this way as well. 3 And the LORD said, My spirit shall not always strive with man, for that he also is flesh: yet his days shall be an hundred and twenty years. Gen 6:3 (KJV) First, notice that in this verse it is stated that "his days shall be" not a generation or a life span, but "his days shall be" talking about the time of man on the earth. Remember this is in Genesis 6 where God is very unhappy with man. We know it is not how long we are to live as individuals because Noah and his sons lived longer. As did Abraham and many others to come. Next remember that the year of the Lord is every 50 years and take that Genesis 6:3 is stating the length of "mankind" on the earth. So there shall be 120 years or 120 "Years of the Lord" (50 years times 120) and we have 6,000 years. If you add 6,000 to the date at that time we are coming up on the end of man's 6,000 year lease in a few years. 8 And thou shalt number seven sabbaths of years unto thee, seven times seven years; and the space of the seven sabbaths of years shall be unto thee forty and nine years. 9 Then shalt thou cause the trumpet of the jubilee to sound on the tenth day of the seventh month, in the day of atonement shall ye make the trumpet sound throughout all your land. 10 And ye shall hallow the fiftieth year, and proclaim liberty throughout all the land unto all the inhabitants thereof: it shall be a jubilee unto you; and ye shall return every man unto his possession, and ye shall return every man unto his family. 11 A jubilee shall that fiftieth year be unto you: ye shall not sow, neither reap that which groweth of itself in it, nor gather the grapes in it of thy vine undressed. 12 For it is the jubilee; it shall be holy unto you: ye shall eat the increase thereof out of the field. 13 In the year of this jubilee ye shall return every man unto his possession. 14 And if thou sell ought unto thy neighbour, or buyest ought of thy neighbour's hand, ye shall not oppress one another: 15 According to the number of years after the jubilee thou shalt buy of thy neighbour, and according unto the number of years of the fruits he shall sell unto thee: Lev 25:8-15 (KJV) But this is all based in the law, what about grace? 14 And Jesus returned in the power of the Spirit into Galilee: and there went out a fame of him through all the region round about. 15 And he taught in their synagogues, being glorified of all. 16 And he came to Nazareth, where he had been brought up: and, as his custom was, he went into the synagogue on the sabbath day, and stood up for to read. 17 And there was delivered unto him the book of the prophet Esaias. And when he had opened the book, he found the place where it was written, 18 The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he hath anointed me to preach the gospel to the poor; he hath sent me to heal the brokenhearted, to preach deliverance to the captives, and recovering of sight to the blind, to set at liberty them that are bruised, 19 To preach the acceptable year of the Lord. Luke 4:14-19 (KJV) The first thing Jesus preached was the year of the Lord or the acceptable year of the Lord. No longer every 50 years, but every year that you live in His grace. Notice the releases from all forms of bondage. What is the Year of the Lord or Jubilee, but a year where the release happens, from bondage of debt. The law could only give a release once every 50 years from debt, but grace is where it is every year and from all forms of bondage not just debt. Notice that the main theme of Jubilee is a release of debt. God knows that debt and money would be a problem a stumbling block for us. How did Jesus address this problem? Knowing that our faith was not up to par, He showed us how simple were our problems concerning debt and money. He sent Peter out to catch a fish, and in that fish would be the money needed for tribute. But first Jesus tried to point out that we are released from the tribute because we are the children of God. Does this mean we are released from tithing and giving? YES, but it means we should be listening and following and giving all as God guides. Instead of just 10% we should give it all where it is needed to help those who are of less faith, depending on our faith in God to supply all our needs. Think about it, if we knew we could get our debts and other funds by fishing wouldn't we all be down fishing and getting out of debt? YES, we would! But look at what Peter had done all his life, he had been a fisherman and had made his living and been supported by fish. So Jesus tells him to go and catch a fish. Don't you know that after all the fish Peter had caught he knew there was no money in fish other than to catch a lot and sell them? I mean this is how it is done and is wise. But what Jesus was saying was foolish. 27 But God hath chosen the foolish things of the world to confound the wise; and God hath chosen the weak things of the world to confound the things which are mighty; 1 Cor 1:27 (KJV) 20 Where is the wise? Where is the scribe? Where is the disputer of this world? Hath not God made foolish the wisdom of this world? 1 Cor 1:20 (KJV) So Peter did it. It has nothing to do with fishing and everything to do with faith. Peter knew enough about Jesus at this point that if Jesus said there was money in fish, then there was money in fish. Not from fishing as the world did but from faith. 24 And when they were come to Capernaum, they that received tribute money came to Peter, and said, Doth not your master pay tribute? 25 He saith, Yes. And when he was come into the house, Jesus prevented him, saying, What thinkest thou, Simon? of whom do the kings of the earth take custom or tribute? of their own children, or of strangers? 26 Peter saith unto him, Of strangers. Jesus saith unto him, Then are the children free. 27 Notwithstanding, lest we should offend them, go thou to the sea, and cast an hook, and take up the fish that first cometh up; and when thou hast opened his mouth, thou shalt find a piece of money: that take, and give unto them for me and thee. matt 17:24-27 (KJV) So by faith in God our needs are met, how is this? Believing in God, forgiving all including ourselves, holding nothing against anyone, and following God in obedience. 20 And in the morning, as they passed by, they saw the fig tree dried up from the roots. 21 And Peter calling to remembrance saith unto him, Master, behold, the fig tree which thou cursedst is withered away. 22 And Jesus answering saith unto them, Have faith in God. 23 For verily I say unto you, That whosoever shall say unto this mountain, Be thou removed, and be thou cast into the sea; and shall not doubt in his heart, but shall believe that those things which he saith shall come to pass; he shall have whatsoever he saith. 24 Therefore I say unto you, What things soever ye desire, when ye pray, believe that ye receive them, and ye shall have them. 25 And when ye stand praying, forgive, if ye have ought against any: that your Father also which is in heaven may forgive you your trespasses. 26 But if ye do not forgive, neither will your Father which is in heaven forgive your trespasses. Mark 11:20-26 (KJV) Faith is the only way to please God. 6 But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him. Heb 11:6 (KJV) We seek the kingdom of God and all of His Righteousness and we will lack for nothing. For how can you seek something and find it with out it becoming a part of you? 33 But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you. matt 6:33 (KJV) If His will is to be done on earth as it is in heaven, then should there be lack, illness, bondage? Is any of this in heaven? NO. 10 Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven. matt 6:10 (KJV) 13 I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me. Phil 4:13 (KJV) Remember Christ is Greek for anointing, and Jesus said in Luke 4:18 He was anointed to bring us the Good News of the release from bondage, and in IS 10:27 we know that in the day of the Lord the anointing will release us. 27 And it shall come to pass in that day, that his burden shall be taken away from off thy shoulder, and his yoke from off thy neck, and the yoke shall be destroyed because of the anointing. Isaiah 10:27 (KJV) So Christ is the anointing and we are of Christ, so we are of the anointing, and the anointing releases us from bondage. So why are we still in bondage? Easy, our faith, we are taught for so long of the world and all of this is foolish to the world so it is hard to overcome. Unless you have faith. 17 So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God. Romans 10:17 (KJV) 14 And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth. John 1:14 (KJV) Jesus was the word made flesh, so by hearing and understanding Jesus our faith comes. 26 But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you. John 14:26 (KJV) 27 But the anointing which ye have received of him abideth in you, and ye need not that any man teach you: but as the same anointing teacheth you of all things, and is truth, and is no lie, and even as it hath taught you, ye shall abide in him. 1 John 2:27 (KJV) Let's review, the law states every 50 years is a release, but through Grace the year of the Lord is now, not every 50 years, and not just debt bondage release but all bondage will be released by the anointing. Christ is the anointing, and we can all have the anointing, but the problem is faith. Faith which comes is by Jesus, and of the Holy Spirit. So as we spend time with Jesus via the Holy Spirit and hear and understand Jesus, our faith grows as did Peter's and we realize that our faith is enough to overcome all things. Through Christ, which strengthens us, we are able to do all things. We realize faith is NOW, not every 50 years. 1 Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen. Heb 11:1 (KJV) So we grow faith. Faith that is NOW. By hearing and understanding the word of God, and as it grows, we are released from bondage. As we come to the end of the lease on this earth, we need all to be growing in faith to show the world the Love and wisdom of God to finance getting the Word out and get this world evangelized for the kingdom. As Abraham followed God and started our faith journey, he was blessed so that he and Lot had to split apart because they had too much as far as livestock (same as money today) to be in the same area together. We need that again, today. But my God shall supply all your need according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus.
