Hearing_from_God

Hearing

Abram was 75 when he first heard from God.

Genesis 12
1.
Now the Lord had said unto Abram, Get thee out of thy country, and from thy kindred, and from thy father's house, unto a land that I will shew thee:
2. And I will make of thee a great nation, and I will bless thee, and make thy name great; and thou shalt be a blessing:
3.And I will bless them that bless thee, and curse him that curseth thee: and in thee shall all families of the earth be blessed.

After Abram heard he became Abraham. Moses was 40 when he learned he was to be the salvation of Israel and when he killed to help one of Goshen he was exiled to the wilderness for 40 years and then he heard from God.

What do Abraham and Moses have in comon?

It took 75 years for God to reach Abram and 80 years to reach Moses, for a mater of fact Moses spent 40 years in the world then 40 in the wilderness for God to reach him.

So why should we think we can hear from God any faster or why does God not reach us the first day?

God could not reach them any sooner as with us due to the simple fact He is not Satan who forces God is waiting for us not forcing Himself on us. Job spent nine months in his own hell due to Job listening to every one but God. But when Job finally stopped listening to man and listened to God everything turned around for him.

So why can we expect to hear sooner that Moses, Abraham or Job is because we are of Grace and they did not.

Jesus came to reunite mankind to God as it was in the beginning with Adam before sin.

But instead mankind listens to mankind not God.

John 14
6.
Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.

The only way to God is by Jesus, so what did Jesus say about this?

Jesus spent the proceeding 2 chapters in Revelation talking about how out of the seven communities (Churches (Islam, Judism, etc) that only one was of Him the rest were not. Then He tells how they still have a chance if they only will listen

Revelation 3 19. As many as I love, I rebuke and chasten: be zealous therefore, and repent.

Based on John 3:16 He loves all of the world, and He will convict us of our sins (rebuke) and to educate to a new way (chasten): be different in our heart towards Him (zealous), and to do a 180% change in our ways (repent).

Revelation 3 20. Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me.

The key is HEAR HIS VOICE, then open the door to Him so He can enter.

Revelation 3 21. To him that overcometh will I grant to sit with me in my throne, even as I also overcame, and am set down with my Father in his throne.
22. He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches.

Matthew 16
15.
He saith unto them, But whom say ye that I am? 16. And Simon Peter answered and said, Thou art the Christ, the Son of the living God.
17. And Jesus answered and said unto him, Blessed art thou, Simon Barjona: for flesh and blood hath not revealed it unto thee, but my Father which is in heaven.

Notice man or woman did not tell Peter who Jesus was but God the Father, and that was only of the spiritual not the physical.

Matthew 16
18.
And I say also unto thee, That thou art Peter, and upon this rock I will build my church; and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it.

First of all the word Peter in verse 18 above in Greek is Petros which means "a piece of the rock" not "Peter" the word "Church" the closest translation is "Community". So Jesus is building His Community upon revealed knowledge via the Spirit from the Father of who Jesus is as the Son and the Christ.

Matthew 16
19.
And I will give unto thee the keys of the kingdom of heaven: and whatsoever thou shalt bind on earth shall be bound in heaven: and whatsoever thou shalt loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven.
20. Then charged he his disciples that they should tell no man that he was Jesus the Christ.

Jesus then told His disciples to tell no one who He was as the Christ because then it is head knowledge not Spiritual knowledge. To be of His Community one must first hear and hear well from God.

John 14
26.
But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you.

If you read the above verse and verses such as Romans 8:16, I John 2:27 and others we are not just able to hear but we are suppose to hear directly from Him.,

In the old starting in Genesis if you search for words like "hear" and "voice" you will find verses like:
