Before you read this study understand that we do not teach, we share and then ask all who read the following take it to God and verify it with Him. We believe a lot of the world is misled by the church of the world and religion vs the one true church. And to know the truth can only come from knowing, not just knowing of God, John 14:26, I John 2:27, Rev 3:19-22.
Many are called but few are chosen because many are misled by false teachers Matthew 7:13-15 so we help all who wants to know the truth how to find and know the truth of and by God and not of and by man.

Offense, Offend, Offensive, Offended

Pastor Jerry Wilhite, author

This is a short study on a subject about which I have written before so it is sort of a refresher. If you have need for more, research the following words "offend, offended, offense, offensive and strife". While you are researching these words notice how it is the world that is offended and offends; the truth never offends; only the lie offends. We need to avoid being offended at all cost. To be offended we have to allow offense in, then when offense comes in, peace and joy leave. Then peace and joy are replaced with strife and strife leads to hate, and hate leads to Hell.

In a previous study on racism I dealt with hate, racism, animosity and enmity but what causes all of these is offense. Offense is the door to so much worse and offense comes so easy for mankind because it sneaks up and grabs us and before we know it we are in deep. If we do not learn how to avoid it, or at the very least get out before it drags us down, it will lead us away from God. Offense is a path that is winding and leads to many other paths, such as the ones mentioned above strife, hate, etc. But offense can be avoided by constantly listening to God about how to walk, live and be one in the Spirit.

John 4

23. But the hour cometh, and now is, when the true worshippers shall worship the Father in spirit and in truth: for the Father seeketh such to worship him.

24. God is a Spirit: and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth.

Matthew 11

6. And blessed is he, whosoever shall not be offended in me.

Matthew 13

21. Yet hath he not root in himself, but dureth for a while: for when tribulation or persecution ariseth because of the word, by and by he is offended.

Matthew 13

41. The Son of man shall send forth his angels, and they shall gather out of his kingdom all things that offend, and them which do iniquity;

42. And shall cast them into a furnace of fire: there shall be wailing and gnashing of teeth.

Pride can also lead us into strife and offense.

Matthew 22

24. And there was also a strife among them, which of them should be accounted the greatest.

Romans 13

13. Let us walk honestly, as in the day; not in rioting and drunkenness, not in chambering and wantonness, not in strife and envying.
