Before you read this study understand that we do not teach, we share and then ask all who read the following take it to God and verify it with Him. We believe a lot of the world is misled by the church of the world and religion vs the one true church. And to know the truth can only come from knowing, not just knowing of God, John 14:26, I John 2:27, Rev 3:19-22.
Many are called but few are chosen because many are misled by false teachers Matthew 7:13-15 so we help all who wants to know the truth how to find and know the truth of and by God and not of and by man.

Conservative, Liberal or Moderate?

Pastor J. R. Wilhite, author   Close Window

Before we start, please note that there are no sides taken whatsoever. The objective of this study is solely to point out how being a "Conservative", "Liberal", or "Moderate" plays into the world system. That is right! If you allow yourself to be labeled as any of the above, or as a "Democrat" or "Republican", you are then doing just what the world wants. The world system is the only system that needs to put people into categories and label them.

If one is of the world, they are of the system of the world; ergo, ruled by the world. No matter how much they deny it or say they have a mind of their own, the previous statement holds true. People of the world do not have a mind of their own…they just cannot see the forest for the trees. Increasingly, they buy into a lie; subsequently, the lie rules them. As time progresses, and as they get deeper and deeper into it, the harder it is for them to see the forest (of lies); nor the more there are in the world and of the world.

It is ok to be in the world; but not of the world.

To be in the world means that you exist in the world, but you are not of the world. To be of the world means you live, exist, and are of everything the world is.

The world is not conservative, liberal, or moderate. Those are just tools of the world to divide and confuse us; so we are of the world.

Matthew 12 (KJV)

  1. And Jesus knew their thoughts, and said unto them, Every kingdom divided against itself is brought to desolation; and every city or house divided against itself shall not stand:

How are we divided? It is in our beliefs. If we believe one way, there will be someone who will oppose it; to make sure we are divided and fighting amongst ourselves. Consequently, in doing so, this keeps us from the truth.

What follows are basics; I am not going to get into every nuance or difference between conservatives and liberals. It would take to long and get us off target. The fears of each are real, and somewhat true.

The liberal sees a conservative as a religious zealot; that scares them. They fear that they will be forced to worship and believe as conservatives do.

The conservative sees the liberal as someone, who does not believe in God, and one who wants freedom to live any way they want. This includes Freedom to have sex with whom ever and whenever they want - Freedom of this kind led Sodom and Gomorrah to their end. Such a liberal cannot believe in God, because his or her basic beliefs goes against the core of God.

Matthew 13 (KJV)

  1. He also that received seed among the thorns is he that heareth the word; and the care of this world, and the deceitfulness of riches, choke the word, and he becometh unfruitful.

John 15 (KJV)

  1. If ye were of the world, the world would love his own: but because ye are not of the world, but I have chosen you out of the world, therefore the world hateth you.

1 Corinthians 5 (KJV)

  1. Yet not altogether with the fornicators of this world, or with the covetous, or extortioners, or with idolaters; for then must ye needs go out of the world.

Matthew 13 (KJV)

  1. That it might be fulfilled which was spoken by the prophet, saying, I will open my mouth in parables; I will utter things which have been kept secret from the foundation of the world.

Colossians 2 (KJV)

James 4 (KJV)

  1. From whence come wars and fightings among you? come they not hence, even of your lusts that war in your members?
  2. Ye lust, and have not: ye kill, and desire to have, and cannot obtain: ye fight and war, yet ye have not, because ye ask not.
  3. Ye ask, and receive not, because ye ask amiss, that ye may consume it upon your lusts.
  4. Ye adulterers and adulteresses, know ye not that the friendship of the world is enmity with God? whosoever therefore will be a friend of the world is the enemy of God.

I John 2 (KJV)

  1. For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh, and the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, is not of the Father, but is of the world.

You see, idealism, either conservative or liberal, is a problem for all people. Take into account the idea of good intentions being enough. A ruler of Rome in the late 4th century, who was a new born-again Christian, thought it was a good idea to make a new law. This new law basically said the only way for anyone to have any power or land was they had to be a Christian. His intention was good but flawed. The idea was that everyone would convert; instead many just lied and said they were Christians. In time there were enough, who did not believe in power in the church; this led to the Holy Wars, Inquisition, and the dark ages.

In our present day, there are some that kill for "good intention". They feel that it is better that one or two abortionists die than many unborn children be put to death. This may seem to be motivated by a good intention; but it is just as wrong as the law enacted by the 4th century Roman ruler. Good intentions such as these fuel the division between conservatives and liberals.

The idea of "free sex" or "sexual freedom" is a sad state of mind for anyone who wants it. A person starts by having random sexual encounters with varied people. In time, they descend further down the drain of sexual perversions, until they themselves are comitting acts they previously felt to be unacceptable or abominable. Once on this path, it is hard to get off; the longer on it, the deeper one gets.

I remember the Clinton's first year in office. They staunchly supported homosexuals. That was, until one day, when a group outside of the White House stated give us your daughter…they wanted to make her a homosexual. After that incident, the Clinton's were no longer as avid supporters of homosexuals as before. Was the group outside of the White House the rule or the exception for homosexuals? Depending upon whom you ask, the responses may differ dramatically. However, the truth be told, this may be an indicator of how they may all end up in time.

The movie, M.A.S.H., presents a good example of how both (liberals and conservatives) see each other; more so for the liberal than the conservative. In this movie, the liberal desires nothing more than living a life free of others and having open sex; and anyone who is not like them is an outcast or weird. They portray a conservative as a religious freak that could not do anything right; one who is not able to complete a single thought or action on their own. The sad thing is the prince of this world is manipulating both. As long as they can be either, both miss the Mark with God.

I am not saying that a conservative or a liberal is not of God. I am saying:

In all truth, both are missing it. Although the conservatives are most often closer to God than the liberals, they are still off the Mark as well. As long as people allow themselves to be labeled, they are not free thinking, free willed people. Are we saying, "I have to be of this group to know how to think and live"? On the other hand, at the very least, this group is the closest thing I can find to what I believe; and as such, I am part of them.

When in truth none that is part of this world is free in any way; but a puppet of Satan.

2 Corinthians 10 (KJV)

  1. Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ;

The word for imagination in the Greek is also "thought". The ruler of this world forces every thing you think or can imagine on you. The only true freedom comes from taking every thought and imagination into captivity; and casting down all that are not of God. In doing so you free yourself of this world and will realize that only in God can you find true freedom.

For the most part the liberal is one who lives for today with no real concern for tomorrow. Conversely, the conservative is waiting to live, always putting away preparing for tomorrow. Both are wrong. There is no true real life in this world, when it is in bondage to anything. Only when you are free of all bondage can you truly live. I do not mean exist, as many do thinking they are living.

God offers all who want it freedom to choose and many choices. While this world only offers one choice, theirs or the highway. If you do not believe in God and think this is a bunch of religious garbage, think about this: if this is all there is in this life, is it really then worth it? For what:

Is that what you really believe and want.

Moreover, if you are wrong, and we are right; then you put in your 70, 80, or more years here…only to spend eternity in torment. Before you think, "if God is all that loving, why would He allow that to happen?" understand that He does not, you do. You make the choice. The difference is He does not force Himself on anyone…unlike Satan. He does not chase after us. To further illustrate, think about the young rich man with whom Jesus spoke. This person had a lot of money, and I know many would have accepted him into their ministries in a heartbeat… to get part of that wealth. They would justify it and make it sound good. However, Jesus did not chase after him. He let him g, because God does not force, He offers opportunities and choices. It is this world that does not do this..

Those of you who think, since you accepted Jesus as Lord of your life that you are saved and of the church and of the body of Christ. You had better make sure of that; because one who is just saved can fall way. One who is just saved and of the church can fall way we have an example of that in Revelations 1-4 when Jesus address the seven churches and only one measures up, that is 6 out 7 chances you are wrong. It is only when you are of the body of Christ you are assured of making it. That is right. There are three levels: salvation, church, and body of Christ. You are called to be saved; many confuse their call for salvation as a call to the ministry. That is why so many fail and we have so many bad examples for Satan to use against the kingdom. Even in the 1st Century-church, there was division; so after 2000 years how much worse would it be.

1 Corinthians 1 (KJV)

  1. For it hath been declared unto me of you, my brethren, by them which are of the house of Chloe, that there are contentions among you.
  2. Now this I say, that every one of you saith, I am of Paul (Baptist); and I of Apollos(Methodist); and I of Cephas(enter your churches name here); and I of Christ.
  3. Is Christ divided? was Paul crucified for you? or were ye baptized in the name of Paul?

And yes there is much confusion in the church, because the church may not be what you think. It is not buildings and things of this world, but it is an individual that God has revealed who His Son Jesus is as the Christ and the true Son of God.

Matthew 16 (KJV)

15. He saith unto them, But whom say ye that I am?

And Simon Peter answered and said, Thou art the Christ, the Son of the living God.

16. And Jesus answered and said unto him, Blessed art thou, Simon Barjona: for flesh and blood hath not revealed it unto thee, but my Father which is in heaven.

17. And I say also unto thee, That thou art Peter, and upon this rock I will build my church; and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it.

In verse 16 the name Peter in Greek is Petros. Petros means Peter, but mostly they both mean a "piece of the rock". The word rock is Petras or bedrock. In verse 15 Jesus tells Peter it was REVEALED knowledge of the Father about Who Jesus is as the Christ and Son of God that made him petros.

So when God reveals to you Who Jesus is as the Christ and The Son of God you are then a piece of the rock or church.

Now you have gone two steps in your growth here, 1st salvation through Jesus, 2nd becoming a part of the church via revealed knowledge. Remember Hosea 4:6 God said His children are destroyed due to a lack of knowledge. Are you starting to understand the importance of knowledge?

Since this study is already longer than expected, I am ending it here. Think about this: Are you a conservative Republican Christian (enter name of your church here), a liberal Democrat Christian, or neither? Alternatively, are you an individual with your own mind and independent of others? I am the latter, although from time-to-time I may appear to be a conservative; another time I may appear to be a liberal or a moderate. I am neither one; I am me; I am free, and that only happens in God.
