Before you read this study understand that we do not teach, we share and then ask all who read the following take it to God and verify it with Him. We believe a lot of the world is misled by the church of the world and religion vs the one true church. And to know the truth can only come from knowing, not just knowing of God, John 14:26, I John 2:27, Rev 3:19-22.
Many are called but few are chosen because many are misled by false teachers Matthew 7:13-15 so we help all who wants to know the truth how to find and know the truth of and by God and not of and by man.

Testimony of One Who
Almost Lost It All!

Pastor J. R. Wilhite, author   Close Window

I had a man recently tell me his testimony and I want to share it with you. For the sake of this testimony we will call him Tom. It may seem like I am talking about someone you may even know, because, part of the testimony is very comon today for a lot of people.

Tom was a man of God; he was in his late 40's, had always gone to church, and had been involved in Bible studies. On occasion he could actually hear God's voice. One day Tom got a job offer in a different area that required him to move. He did not even hesitate; he took it and moved. The job was making three times more than he ever made before, and he knew he could do the job, but what Tom didn't realize was that the job wasn't right for him and it was not of God. It was Satan taking advantage of this stage in Tom's life.

At the current stage of Tom's Life he felt confident in himself and what he could do. He felt he was close enough to God that he was strong enough for the move. Well, when he got to his new home and job it went great for about a year. Then it happened; things he stated he could do and knew he could do seemed to go bad. It appeared to his bosses that he either lied about his ability or was slacking off big time. He started getting poor reviews at work, and the stress increased daily.

Another problem was that everyone he knew lived in another city. The only people he knew here were those he worked with. So he had no association with anyone at all.

After a year of this stress level increasing and the idea he would be fired any day, he decided to take a good look at his life. He discovered his mistake; he tried to do this all on his own. When he moved he had left God behind. Subsequently, he spent as much time as he could to get right with God again, but then the stress at work tripled and he decided to quit. Tom did quit and spent the next few months with God and getting straight with God again. Then he moved back to his hometown where he got a new job not making as much money, but with very little or no stress at all.

What he learned was that Satan will use others to deceive us, to get us away from God. Satan will use promises of things of this world. He will entice us with thoughts of self-importance and self-ability. Then, when he has us where he wants us, he pulls the carpet from under us and destroys us. Some have even comitted suicide over such works of Satan. Some have even killed others thinking it was the fault of another.

You see Satan forces his thoughts on everyone. You have no idea that you are accepting these thoughts and then making them yours. It could be the newsman you listen to or the one who writes your favorite television show, or a talk host, liberal or conservative.

If you honestly think who you listen to is not able to push your buttons, think about the last time you heard something on television or the radio that got you fired up or mad, and think about why you got mad.

You see, Tom was fortunate that he snapped to the truth in time, but even then Satan pulled out all of the stops to try to get him off the path back to God. Satan used those at his work to increase stress, others to push his buttons, etc. Satan did this in hopes that Tom would not continue on his path back to God. I mean Satan had invested 2 years at this point in him and he was a prize to Satan because here was someone who had started hearing from God and was off track in less than a year.

Of course even with making 3 times what he made before and living in a town that was less expensive than the town he came from he ended up in more debt than ever before.

Because he did not tithe, that act allowed Satan to mess with his income. Plus, of course since the tithe affects growth as well as income it was a factor in why Tom fell away.

Now he tithes, spends time daily listening to God and is growing. Tom is happier than he has been in years.

Watch whom you listen to, and be very careful what you allow in, because you really don't know where that idea came from. Anything not of God is of Satan. Be wary of the trap that first got our Tom in trouble. He justified not tithing and spending time with God. His justification was that since he had not tithed for a while and he was doing well then the tithe really was just words on a paper and didn't really mean that much. This thought led to doubts about God and his salvation.

You see, Satan will try to get you to think that if you believe in Satan or a devil you must be crazy. He wants you to believe he does not exist. He wants you to think that there is evolution instead of creation, aliens instead of demons, that Christianity, God, etc. is a crutch for the weak. Satan will and does use every writer, newsperson, talk show host, etc. he can to promote his ways and ideas.

So, if the thought ever comes up that the idea of Satan or demons is a bunch of junk or that you are an adult and adults do not believe in Santa Claus, Easter Bunny or the devil, be careful. This is a trap and you may wake up one day and ask what happened. I know this is a fact, because I get people all the time telling me just that. They woke up and couldn't figure out how they ended up so far from God. It happens even to the best of us and the only way to prevent it is to do as Paul said:

2 Corinthians 10

5. Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ;

One reason I hate the Internet and email is because it makes it so easy for Satan to push other's buttons. A simple coment without seeing the face of the person to know if it is made in jest or seriously, can lead to a falling away of best of friends. I have dealt with many that have asked for help in repairing a relationship due to just that. The person who sent the email in no way meant for it to be a put down, but the person who got it saw it no other way at all. Remember what Jesus said "You have ears and do not hear and eyes and do not see". Part of the meaning of this is that even our physical eyes and ears can deceive us. And of course it means we do not use our spiritual eyes and ears.

So what is the answer? If any coment, reMark, etc in any way affects you other than positively, cast it down. Do not keep it and if you don't catch it in time, then be sure to seek the person and talk to them before it grows into such a wall that it may never be able to be removed. No, you will not always catch them, but you can at least try.

I have even made coments that others would later wonder if I ever told the truth. Where I made my mistake was I listened to someone, believed it, took it as fact and then repeated it as if it were mine. Then, when it did not happen as I said, it appeared that I lied. When all the time I believed it due to the source. But I am learning my only source to believe is God.

Maybe, based on my mistake, if someone you really trust and think a lot of says something, you now know to keep it to your self until it either comes to pass or doesn't. No matter what, never trust what you hear and see without verifying it with God first.
