How Could 2 (Adam & Eve)
grow to 6 Billion People

Jerry Wilhite, author

Some of the most asked questions I get are,

"How could there come to be 6 billion people today from two people (Adam and Eve)?"

"Who was Cain's wife? Was she his sister or mother?"

"After Noah's flood, how could we all be from so few people?"

"If incest was the way of life then, why is it not today?"

"How can incest today bring such deformities but it did not in Noah's day?"

All of these questions can be and will be answered in this study, but first I need to address the last question first, because it is the one that gets asked the most and is important to all the others as well.

To start you know Adam sinned and God told Adam if he ever ate of the tree of knowledge of good and evil he would die.

Genesis 2

17. But of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, thou shalt not eat of it: for in the day that thou eatest thereof thou shalt surely die.

Well, we know Adam did not die in the sense we refer to death, so did he die and if so, what was the death he incurred? He died just as we will one day, but he died in an area that matters more than the death of the body.

There are 3 areas of what makes us, us.

  1. The body - this is nothing more than a vehicle that carries us from place to place. Without the body we would have no form. So the body is more like a car that takes us places. When a car dies or is junked we do not bury it, we send it to the junkyard because that is all it is, junk. The car is nothing without someone in it, someone to control it, to drive it. The body is the same it is nothing without us in it. Without us controlling it, or driving it, from place to place.

We place too much importance on the body:

The 3 examples above should give you an idea. now I have one more way to look at it. How many of you like an SUV over a sports car, and then how many the reverse? How about Cadillac VS BMW or Mercedes? How many of you would have red, white or black paint on your car no matter what car VS how many would want the color based on the car? Let's do not forget the inside, leather or cloth, CD player or just a FM stereo? How about AC and heating, power windows? Some would prefer power windows while others think it is just being lazy not to be able to roll the window down.

By now you should see my point the body is the least important of the 3 elements of which we are, actually it is the least important and has the least to do with who we are. But we place the most importance on it over the Spirit.

2. The soul is your:

3. The spirit is what connects us through life to God. It is what God gave us on loan from Himself. He created us in His image, mind, will, emotions.

Genesis 1

26. And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cMattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth.

27. So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them.

Genesis 2

7. And the Lord God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul.

Man was the only thing of creation that God did more than just speak into creation, that He actually formed from dust (mud, clay, etc). God gave man a body from dust, breathed life into him, gave a soul to him and loaned part of himself to him, part of His spirit.

Now some of you are wondering why I keep saying loaned part of His Spirit to us instead of gave it to us. If God gave us part of His Spirit, He could never take it away, and since God can take away our Spirit it then is on loan only. At least on loan in this life. Through this life we make the decision whether the Spirit is on loan or becomes part of us forever.

If you go through life and never connect with God then the Spirit is not yours it is His and He only takes back what is His, but if we connect it becomes ours and remains ours.

Now this is for those who will spend eternity with God and those who never connect are those who spend eternity in torment. What more torment can there be than eternity without God.

Matthew 10

28. And fear not them which kill the body, but are not able to kill the soul: but rather fear him which is able to destroy both soul and body in hell.

Notice soul and body, not soul, spirit, and body in hell. The spirit is only of God; there is no other true spirit. There are wicked, perversions of the spirit, but it is not God's spirit. It is more like what people think of Ghosts as, they are the fallen angels and they are no longer a true spirit. They are a false or shadow of the Spirit, an empty spirit, unreal.
The true spirit, the spirit of God is real and it is full.

Galatians 5

22. But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith,

23. Meekness, temperance: against such there is no law.

When you see or hear from a Spirit and it does not have the above it is not real, it is evil.

John even warned us how to protect ourselves from these wicked spirits.

1 John 4

1. Beloved, believe not every spirit, but try the spirits whether they are of God: because many false prophets are gone out into the world.

2. Hereby know ye the Spirit of God: Every spirit that confesseth that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is of God:

3. And every spirit that confesseth not that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is not of God: and this is that spirit of antichrist, whereof ye have heard that it should come; and even now already is it in the world.

But pastor, above, John says spirits, so there must be more than one spirit. Yes there is more than one, but there is only one true spirit, and the rest are evil. But I have been told there are many spirits, spirit of knowledge, spirit of wisdom, etc. Yes there are many elements of the one and true spirit of God. It is like the fruit of the Spirit above. You do not have to show all 9 of the fruit of the Spirit of God to be of the fruit. But that does not mean they are separate.

Think of math. You were taught first how to add 1+1=2, and just because you did not know that 2-1=1 makes the math you know different than this math. All math is math, it just means you only knew the basics of math, but you were growing, and in time would know more. It is not new math or even a different math, even with different names all math is still math. All math starts with 1+1=2.

The spirit is the same; just because at a moment you only need joy and wisdom does not mean the other elements are a different spirit. When John used spirits as he did, he did it in a way to show evil.

Strong's Ref. # 4151

Romanized pneuma

Pronounced pnyoo'-mah

from GSN4154; a current of air, i.e. breath (blast) or a breeze; by analogy or figuratively, a spirit, i.e. (human) the rational soul, (by implication) vital principle, mental disposition, etc., or (superhuman) an angel, demon, or (divine) God, Christ's spirit, the Holy Spirit:

KJV--ghost, life, spirit(-ual, -ually), mind. Compare GSN5590.

The words spirit and spirits John used are shown above in the Greek word and actual meaning. Notice air, and breath are also part of the Greek word. So let's use them instead and re-read John.

1 John 4

1. Beloved, believe not every breath, but try the breath whether they are of God: because many false prophets are gone out into the world.

The idea John was trying to get across and is understood well in Greek is that every word is to be tested, and the other side is to also place demon for spirit as well. He wanted everyone to know that there was only one true spirit and the rest were demons.

Now with the understanding of your total makeup, body, soul, and spirit, we can move on to what died in Adam.

We know that Adam's body and soul did not die, because he lived past the fruit and from reading Genesis 3 he still had his mind will and emotions, so all that leaves is his spirit. What Adam lost was his Spiritual connection with God; he died in the spirit.

As far as those who think he was covered in the glory of God and lost that when he sinned so that is why he knew he was naked, well guess what? That is wrong, he knew he was naked, and if he did know he was naked he was then not covered in the glory.

Genesis 2

And they were both naked, the man and his wife, and were not ashamed.

So how did that ever get started about the glory? Someone who was well known did not read far enough and just decided that must be since he was naked and did not realize it until he sinned. Since the rest of us respected the man, we just took it as the truth. This is why I always harp on everyone reading the word with the Spirit of God explaining, and then taking every thing we hear to God to verify, not trusting in man who is corrupt, but in God only who is not corrupt.

1 John 2

27. But the anointing which ye have received of him abideth in you, and ye need not that any man teach you: but as the same anointing teacheth you of all things, and is truth, and is no lie, and even as it hath taught you, ye shall abide in him.

John 14

26. But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you.

Most out there who are ministry leaders will disagree out of fear of losing their ministries. They fear if their members did this, they would not be needed and then would have to work for a living. I believe first and foremost the job of anyone who is to lead or teach is to get in the face of God and stay there until released by God. Instead most think it is works of their hands and not works of faith. I can promise those who follow what I just said would see the works done, and more and not lose a single soul but increase.

Now that we understand that Adam did not die of the body or soul, next is to understand what happened so that we could no longer be in the presence of God while of this body without being destroyed. In the next few verses we will read how Cain after killing his brother could still be face to face with God, but Moses the man of God could not without dying.

Exodus 33

20. And he said, Thou canst not see my face: for there shall no man see me, and live.

21. And the Lord said, Behold, there is a place by me, and thou shalt stand upon a rock:

22. And it shall come to pass, while my glory passeth by, that I will put thee in a Clift of the rock, and will cover thee with my hand while I pass by:

23. And I will take away mine hand, and thou shalt see my back parts: but my face shall not be seen.

Genesis 4

14. Behold, thou hast driven me out this day from the face of the earth; and from thy face shall I be hid; and I shall be a fugitive and a vagabond in the earth; and it shall come to pass, that every one that findeth me shall slay me.

So what could have changed so much that took mankind from being face to face with God after killing a brother, to separation even with a man who was God's chosen servant?

Genesis 5

24. And Enoch walked with God: and he was not; for God took him.

Even Enoch walked with God; this was after Cain but way before Moses. In Genesis 6 we learn the truth to what happened between Cain's and Moses' time to change the rules of being able to be in the presence of God and not.

Genesis 6

1. And it came to pass, when men began to multiply on the face of the earth, and daughters were born unto them,

2. That the sons of God saw the daughters of men that they were fair; and they took them wives of all which they chose.

The term "sons of God" was only used in two books of the Bible, Job 1 & 2, and here in Genesis 6. We know from Job that the sons of God are the angels, so since they are the same in both, then here in Genesis they would again be angels. We know they are not men, because for the daughters of man to even be there, it meant the men and women were already marrying or at the very least having children.

We also know through the word angels and mankind are as different as dogs and cats. So for an angel, fallen angel to have children with women would be like taking a dog and cat and having some form of babies, you could not call them puppies or kittens. Remember even fallen angels can appear beautiful.

It is not until this happens that God repents of having made mankind. The only thing that saves mankind is that one is found to be perfect. We know no one was perfect in the spirit, because until Jesus after Adam the spiritual connection was gone.

But Noah was born before this happened with the fallen angels. If you take add the ages up in Genesis 5 and follow through you will see about the time this happened and notice Noah was born before. So if Noah was not perfect in the Spiritual what was he perfect in? Read on to learn more.

3. And the Lord said, My spirit shall not always strive with man, for that he also is flesh: yet his days shall be an hundred and twenty years.

The only time God referred to man's life in this manner is here in Genesis 6:3 and it is not how long a man would live. Because after this, Noah, his sons, even Abraham lived longer. So what else could it mean? Remember God is unhappy with mankind, and if you take a year of the Lord, which is the 50-year, the year of Jubilee and multiply it by 120 you have 6000. So it would mean God was giving mankind a 6,000 year lease on earth from that point. This is how many get the idea that our time is short.

4. There were giants in the earth in those days; and also after that, when the sons of God came in unto the daughters of men, and they bare children to them, the same became mighty men which were of old, men of renown.

Giants, men of renown and old refer to much more than physical size, but the mind as well, IQ, and technology. Since so little of this time is left to explore, as far as we know they may have been further along than we are now. And scientists today now believe the flood was mostly caused by water from above. The earth at this point was surrounded with a ball of water. Which of course meant no harsh seasons, no ice or polar caps and that the largest sea would be only the size of the Gulf of Mexico if that big. Cities have been found below sea level. That is not so strange, but what is, is how far down and out to sea they have been found. Meaning that what we call sea level could be anywhere from 1000 feet lower to a mile lower than it is now.

5. And God saw that the wickedness of man was great in the earth, and that every imagination of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually.

6. And it repented the Lord that he had made man on the earth, and it grieved him at his heart.

7. And the Lord said, I will destroy man whom I have created from the face of the earth; both man, and beast, and the creeping thing, and the fowls of the air; for it repenteth me that I have made them.

8. But Noah found grace in the eyes of the Lord.

9. These are the generations of Noah: Noah was a just man and perfect in his generations, and Noah walked with God.

Noah was found perfect in his generations, perfect still in the flesh; the body had not been perverted. Now Noah's wife was not perfect so the sons were half-and-half. Meaning, in time, incest would be a problem. Before the perversion of the flesh incest was accepted and needed, but after the body was perverted the further along that incest went the less and less likely it would be able to be after a while.

So Satan did his job. He needed to cut mankind off from God in the flesh. Satan knew if we could see, touch, and listen to God in the flesh his job was in trouble, but if he could arrange it where mankind could no longer see God, well then his job got a lot easier. While at the same time perverting what God created. Who knows what we should look like, and who knows how disfigured and ugly we would appear to those in the first few chapters of Genesis? This also explains why there is no reference to demon possessions, sickness, illness, etc before the flood and the longer after the flood we read the more they increase as well.

Since mankind was of such a perfect body before the perversion that was created by fallen angels and women having children, you can see how incest went from a natural way of life to becoming a very unnatural way of life due to the perversion in the flesh.

For those of you who have trouble understanding how from 2 can come so many?

Look at the population of the world in the 19th century, in the hundreds of millions, to less than 100 years later to 5 billion. That would require a growth rate of 4,166,666 a month or 50 million a year, for 100 years. Add in the fact they had very long life spans in the beginning because the flesh was only recently corrupted, but got more and more so after humans started eating flesh of animals to survive and then because we liked it.
