Blessed Before Birth

Jerry Wilhite, author

In a previous study on healing we learned that we were already healed before we ever were born.

I Peter 2

24. Who his own self bare our sins in his own body on the tree, that we, being dead to sins, should live unto righteousness: by whose stripes ye were healed.

The key word is "were". If you asked most people if we are healed by His stripes they would agree, then if you asked about were, they would be confused a little. The point is we were healed at the cross when Jesus took those stripes for us 2,000 years ago; we were healed at that time. We do not have to ask to be healed or believe we will be healed. We must accept the truth that it was done before we even were born.
From when we are born until we die we hear on TV, radio, etc about medicine we need. We believe these different medicines are there to help us, but if instead we were taught we were healed, not needing the medicine and accepting what already is ours, then we would never get sick, ill, etc.

The same holds true to prosperity; we already were blessed.

God has blessed us so many ways, but in this study we are going to cover only three.

Before we start you need to understand there are three levels of growth while we are here in this life.

Before I go on, the main way someone can back slide from God is because they are not very secure with Him. Now there is a way that just about prevents this from happening. Some call it "once saved, always saved" and to a degree they are right, but the problem with that statement is so many continue with their worldly life because they think once saved always saved. Anything that would let us continue in the ways of the world is not of God. All who accept Jesus as Lord, need to imediately start listening for and to the still small voice of God in their lives. Spend 15 minutes a day listening, and do this every day until your hear, and then keep listening until you are hearing constantly. Yes, we are to hear from God, not just His word. The Word is used to teach us what to do, and how to do it until we are hearing from God.

1 John 4

1. Beloved, believe not every spirit, but try the spirits whether they are of God: because many false prophets are gone out into the world.

2. Hereby know ye the Spirit of God: Every spirit that confesseth that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is of God:

3. And every spirit that confesseth not that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is not of God: and this is that spirit of antichrist, whereof ye have heard that it should come; and even now already is it in the world.

If the above verses are not enough to show you we are to hear from God read I John 2:20-27 and John 14:26 as well as Romans 8:16.

1 Peter 5

7. Casting all your care upon him; for he careth for you.

In the above verse the word cares means problems, debt, worries, concerns, etc, and the only way anyone can cast all of this upon God and walk away is by faith.

Hebrews 11

6. But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him.

So if the only way to please God is by faith, then when we cast our problems upon Him we do it by faith.

As you hear from God then grow, growth comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.

Romans 10

17. So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.

So faith cometh by hearing and hearing by the word of God. There are two forms of the word used in this first the scripture and second the flesh.

'John 1

14. And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth.

The first level is of Jesus, our salvation; the word "Jesus" means salvation. When we are called of God (or I should say when we realize we are called of God) we then realize we are missing something in our life and that something is Jesus. Once we accept Jesus as Lord and saviour then we have the blood of Jesus on us, and the Spirit of God in us.

Romans 10

9. That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.

10. For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.

>From there we should start to grow. The first thing that should happen next is that we have revealed to us Who Jesus is as the Son of God and the Christ. When we realize Who Jesus is it is done by revelation from God, and through revelation we become a piece of the church.

Matthew 16

15. He saith unto them, But whom say ye that I am?

16. And Simon Peter answered and said, Thou art the Christ, the Son of the living God.

17. And Jesus answered and said unto him, Blessed art thou, Simon Barjona: for flesh and blood hath not revealed it unto thee, but my Father which is in heaven.

18. And I say also unto thee, That thou art Peter, and upon this rock I will build my church; and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it.

In verse 18 the word "Peter" in the Greek is "Petros" meaning Peter, but also meaning a "piece of the rock". In the same verse Jesus refers to the rock that He will build His church on. The word rock in Greek is "Petra" or Bed rock. So we become a part or piece of the rock when God reveals to us Who Jesus is. In verse 17 we read it is not flesh and blood that revealed this to us, but the Father which is in heaven revealed who Jesus is to Petros (Peter).

So we are called of God and realize we have a void in us, and through accepting Jesus in us we fill that void with the Spirit of God. Then with the Spirit of God in us we have revealed to us who Jesus is as the Christ and true Son of God.

Romans 8

16. The Spirit itself beareth witness with our spirit, that we are the children of God:

The third step is the anointing. The word "Christ" in Greek is Christos the "anointing". To better understand the anointing think of a bowl of water into which you place a dry sponge. What happens to the dry sponge? The sponge absorbs the water from the bowl. The sponge is now anointed with the water in the bowl. The water is in, on, and through the sponge. In some cases the water is dripping the water every where. That is how we should be with the Spirit of God. God's Spirit is in, on and through us. We are then anointed with God's Spirit.

John 14

26. But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you.

I John 2

27. But the anointing which ye have received of him abideth in you, and ye need not that any man teach you: but as the same anointing teacheth you of all things, and is truth, and is no lie, and even as it hath taught you, ye shall abide in him.

The three we will review are also of different levels. The tithe is for all of the children of God and for the old and New Testament. Then Mark 11:22-26 can be done by all, but more likely for those of the church and higher. Last is the seed of Abraham. Notice it states if you are of Christ you are of the seed of Abraham, not of salvation/Jesus or of the church, but of Christ.

1. The Tithe - God gave us the tithe to protect what is ours that we get either from income or increase of any kind. Remember if it is increase then it is to be tithed on. (Malachi 3:8-12)

Malachi 3

8. Will a man rob God? Yet ye have robbed me. But ye say, Wherein have we robbed thee? In tithes and offerings.

9. Ye are cursed with a curse: for ye have robbed me, even this whole nation.

10. Bring ye all the tithes into the storehouse, that there may be meat in mine house, and prove me now herewith, saith the Lord of hosts, if I will not open you the windows of heaven, and pour you out a blessing, that there shall not be room enough to receive it.

11. And I will rebuke the devourer for your sakes, and he shall not destroy the fruits of your ground; neither shall your vine cast her fruit before the time in the field, saith the Lord of hosts.

12. And all nations shall call you blessed: for ye shall be a delightsome land, saith the Lord of hosts.

Here is the only time God tells us to test Him and that He would pour out so much we would ask Him to stop. If you are not asking God to stop then you need to review your income and tithe. So, just based on giving of the first 10% we should get back more than we can handle. Two things happen due to the tithe; there is meat in the store house and the person tithing is being blessed to the point they can not handle any more. The tithe is based in the law so all can operate in the tithe and be blessed.

  1. Mark 11:22-26 shows us

Mark 11

22. And Jesus answering saith unto them, Have faith in God.

23. For verily I say unto you, That whosoever shall say unto this mountain, Be thou removed, and be thou cast into the sea; and shall not doubt in his heart, but shall believe that those things which he saith shall come to pass; he shall have whatsoever he saith.

24. Therefore I say unto you, What things soever ye desire, when ye pray, believe that ye receive them, and ye shall have them.

25. And when ye stand praying, forgive, if ye have ought against any: that your Father also which is in heaven may forgive you your trespasses.

26. But if ye do not forgive, neither will your Father which is in heaven forgive your trespasses.

In Mark 11:22-26 we have three things we must do, have faith in God, believe, and forgive. If we have faith in God, and believe then forgive all, including ourselves we will receive what ever we pray for. If you read verse 24 Jesus said what things so ever we desire and pray and believe for we will have them. Now this requires faith and is more for those at least of the level of the church.

  1. Seed of Abraham Gal 3:29 and Genesis 12:2-3

Galatians 3

29. And if ye be Christ's, then are ye Abraham's seed, and heirs according to the promise.

Genesis 12

2. And I will make of thee a great nation, and I will bless thee, and make thy name great; and thou shalt be a blessing:

3. And I will bless them that bless thee, and curse him that curseth thee: and in thee shall all families of the earth be blessed.

Being of Christ has so many new areas for a child of God.

1 Corinthians 1

24. But unto them which are called, both Jews and Greeks, Christ the power of God, and the wisdom of God.

Some might say that the first thing we looked at - the tithe - is of the law, but also is of the flesh, and the second dealing with prayer is more of the soul (mind, will and emotions.), and the third that is of Christ is of the Spirit of God.

There are so many other blessings listed in the word. What you must understand is that the Bible is not suppose to be the end product of our relationship with God, but a pointer, pointing us to Him and helping us understand the truth to start overcoming so many of the problems in life that separate us from God.

If you really believe in God and His word then you should understand that the Bible is more of a manual than the end product for us in life. The Bible helps us see the truth in a world of lies, to overcome the problems that Jesus paid the price for us so we would not have to ever again. People have the most trouble believing or understanding that it is already done for us and all we have to do is accept it.

Luke 6

38. Give, and it shall be given unto you; good measure, pressed down, and shaken together, and running over, shall men give into your bosom. For with the same measure that ye mete withal it shall be measured to you again.

Give and it shall be given unto you. Give what? What ever you give it shall also be given unto you.

Good measure, pressed down, and shaken together, and running over. What is a good measure? Good measure honors what you gave by returning it likewise, only the return will be a lot more than what you gave. If you gave $100 then more than that would be given back to you.

Two parts you need to be sure you understand.

  1. What ever you give, that is what you will get back. (Money for money, time for time, love for love, etc.)
  1. That which is given back is from God and He never returns one for one. He will give back to you more than you gave.

Look at the verse:

Luke 6

38. Give, and it shall be given unto you; good measure, pressed down, and shaken together, and running over, shall men give into your bosom. For with the same measure that ye mete withal it shall be measured to you again.

  1. You give, then you read it shall be given unto you. So what ever you give you will get back. So never give rags for clothes or that is all you will be given back.
  2. No matter how much you give, you will be given based on honor, and it always will exceed the amount you gave.
  3. He will press it down to make room, and if that is not enough, he will then shake it to make more room, to the point that what you get back will be like a river during a flood, it will over run its banks.
  4. Who will give to you? Of course it is God directing it, but it is man God will use to do all He talks bout.
  5. If you thought that was it, I mean they took and measured it out to be larger to begin with than they were given; they went extra steps one to press down, and shake together so even more will fit in, and even at that they fill it to the point that it still over flows its banks, it may not necessarily be as much as you thought. If someone took from their excess and gave, well, that is not honorable. They still will match your giving and each time you go back, each time, they are going to match you based on your honor.

Ok, I can see it now someone out there is wondering what exactly honor is.

If you are an honorable man, when you give your word that you will do something, then you will do as you said, no less, maybe more, but no less.

So I tell a neighbor I will mow their yard, and edge as well as clean up. Then they have to come and find me and ask me when I will do the work, and then I do not do it all. Well then I would be considered a less than honorable person.

Honor is what we are with our word as the basis of our honor.

The entire idea behind this is someone does it for one of two reasons.

  1. A person does this because they feel it needs to be done.
  2. A person does it to see what they can get out of it.

The first person will find more coming back to him than he can handle. The reward or the return would be like the river during a flood.

The second may just get back what he gave, but not necessarily much more.

You are the one who decides which you are, the honorable man, or the non-honorable man.

You have so many ways to be blessed.

Tithe and you are promised that God will open the windows of heaven so He will pour out more than you can handle, to the point you ask Him to close the window.

You give, and it is given to you as you gave. So if you give not to get, but to give it will be returned to you so many times.

Then in Mark 11:23-24 we learn if we believe we have what ever we are believing for while we pray, then we know we have it.

You have all of the promises of Abraham, because if we are of the seed of Abraham we should have as much as Abraham had, plus be a blessing to all nations and be blessed by all nations.

My prayer for you is:

3 John 1

2. Beloved, I wish above all things that thou mayest prosper and be in health, even as thy soul prospereth

Remember to show faith when you pray, then praise and give thanks.
