Here are a few steps to follow to help you get started in a new life. It all starts by making Jesus the Lord and savior of your life. Things to do while waiting to hear God's voice. Tithe is an area on which pastors either put either too much or too little emphasis. Some even use it just to get funds. It was never meant to be a fundraiser. Only those who understand the tithe should tithe, and only to where they are fed the Word of God. Now here is understanding, for those who want it. Who ever you are - give 10% of your gross income. That is the very first 10% not the 10% after taxes. The tithe is given for 2 reasons Those who tithe do not live paycheck to paycheck, but it takes a while for the tithe to do what all needs to be done. It could take as long as 3 months depending where your faith is, and how much time you spend listening to God. Sowing and reaping is mentioned all the way back in Genesis 1; what you sow your reap. A farmer knows to get corn he must sow corn. Farmers also know that they receive from one seed much more than they sowed. The same is for those who sow money, from $1 can come $10, $100, and $1000 or more again depending on your faith. (Malachi 3:8-12, Mark 10:29-30, Mark 11:22-26. Hebrews 11:1-12) Offerings should be made with the tithe; the tithe is for your spiritual food so the offering is for the service you attended. As you go out to eat you pay what ever the cost is for what you ordered, this would be like the tithe. The tithe is based on the word of God being fed to you, and your spirit. The offering is like the tip given after a meal for the service, and it ranges from 10-20%. So if the gross 10% of your pay is $1,200 before taxes, then you give $120 as the tithe The offering would be anywhere from $12- $24 depending on the service. Donations are made normally from the heart, not for a return but based on love. Faith, Healing, and Casting Down Vain Imaginations Most do not understand that we are saved, live, and are blessed by faith. To remove faith or teach anything different is like teaching that it is all based on what you do not what God already did for us. There are two types of faith. If you really want to know God and be blessed, then start now by accepting Jesus as Lord and savior and understand bad things, sickness, and even death of children are all caused by the world system and our lack of knowledge and not by God. God gave us a book to help us grow called the Bible, and with it and connecting with God we can avoid most if not even all of the health issues, relationship problems, debt/lack in our life. Below are a few of the verses I referred to above. Mark 10 29. And Jesus answered and said, Verily I say unto you, There is no man that hath left house, or brethren, or sisters, or father, or mother, or wife, or children, or lands, for my sake, and the gospel's, 30. But he shall receive an hundredfold now in this time, houses, and brethren, and sisters, and mothers, and children, and lands, with persecutions; and in the world to come eternal life. Mark 11 22. And Jesus answering saith unto them, Have faith in God. 23. For verily I say unto you, That whosoever shall say unto this mountain, Be thou removed, and be thou cast into the sea; and shall not doubt in his heart, but shall believe that those things which he saith shall come to pass; he shall have whatsoever he saith. 24. Therefore I say unto you, What things soever ye desire, when ye pray, believe that ye receive them, and ye shall have them. 25. And when ye stand praying, forgive, if ye have ought against any: that your Father also which is in heaven may forgive you your trespasses. 26. But if ye do not forgive, neither will your Father which is in heaven forgive your trespasses. Luke 6 38. Give, and it shall be given unto you; good measure, pressed down, and shaken together, and running over, I Peter 2 24. Who his own self bare our sins in his own body on the tree, that we, being dead to sins, should live unto righteousness: by whose stripes ye were healed. 2 Corinthians 10 5. Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ;
Tithe and Give
3. All blessings, healings, deliverance from debt and lack all were given (past tense) by Jesus at the cross. In I Peter 2:24 we read "we were healed" meaning that Jesus healed us by the stripes He took almost 2000 years ago. So we were healed even before we were born.
4. Casting down vain imaginations is something we need to start with day one, and will do a long time after we start hearing from God. It just means to take time and consider every thought, if it is not to the glory of God then it is not worth while.
