Anger and Frustration

Pastor J. R. Wilhite, author   Close Window

Everything from anger to frustration is controlled by the person who is angry and/or frustrated.
When you feel anger and/or frustration starting stop. Take a moment; take a deep breath and then say no.
That is right, you have authority over both; actually it is the same for every single emotion. Jealousy, hate, etc. are all emotions that we allow to happen or not.
A person who gives in to these negative emotions normally, afterwards, realizes that it did not help in any way. Most even regret that they did get angry or frustrated.
At first it may seem hard and to some even impossible, but the fact is you can get them under control.
You start every morning by getting up with a greeting to God first. The very first thing that should come out of your mouth should be "Good Morning, Father, Jesus and Holy Spirit". Then spend at least 5 minutes in the morning before you leave with God in meditation. If you leave and you are late, slow down, do not push it/ All that can accomplish is get you a ticket, or worse an accident and then you could hurt or even kill someone or yourself.
Have you ever noticed when someone speeds by you and then by the next light you notice the car that sped by is at the light with you. They gained nothing at all except a chance at a ticket or an accident.
Remember you are an ambassador of God, so when you drive you are sending a message to the lost. Speeding, cutting people off, or just being rude is counter productive.
I was in our post office pMarking lot and at least 2 others were in such a rush to leave they almost hit a person and at least 2 cars. Now what signal do you think that sends to the lost? If you think they do not know who you are, think again. They will see you at church or you may even be one of those with those images of the Lord on your automobile (fish, cross, etc.).
Don't you think if the driver of the car you were cutting off was your pastor, that you would be terribly embarrassed about it? More likely you would not even do it. Even if no one knows or sees you, realize that God sees you and He knows you.
The same goes with emotions. He is there and seeing us at our worse. Do you ask Him for forgiveness about what ever you have done wrong from either cutting a person off or allowing bad emotions to flow in your life?
Now here is how you prevent these emotions - allow God to be in control.
How many of us would act better and be different if Jesus was always with us and in our presence all of the time? Well, we need to realize that He is always there.

Now spend as much time as you can in the morning with God before you leave. Actually we need to go to bed earlier even if it means 8 PM to get up at 4-5 AM which would give us 8-9 hours sleep and then spend 1 hour in the word, with the Lord and in prayer. Then we would also have plenty of time to get ready and to be at work on time.

Remember John 3:16-20. God loves us all, and since He loves us all we need to learn to love one another as He loves us all.

My prayer for you is:

3 John 1

2. Beloved, I wish above all things that thou mayest prosper and be in health, even as thy soul prospereth

Remember to show faith when you pray, then praise and give thanks.

God Bless You as you hear His words and follow His leading.
