Before you read this study understand that we do not teach, we share and then ask all who read the following take it to God and verify it with Him. We believe a lot of the world is misled by the church of the world and religion vs the one true church. And to know the truth can only come from knowing, not just knowing of God, John 14:26, I John 2:27, Rev 3:19-22.
Many are called but few are chosen because many are misled by false teachers Matthew 7:13-15 so we help all who wants to know the truth how to find and know the truth of and by God and not of and by man.

Word & Power

Pastor J. R. Wilhite, author   Close Window

In this study we will discover the power of God as in the spoken word. Yes, that is right the power of God is in the spoken word.

First let us look at the creation of all we know, the earth and life on it:

Genesis 1

1. In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth.

2. And the earth was without form, and void; and darkness was upon the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters.

3. And God said, Let there be light: and there was light.

4. And God saw the light, that it was good: and God divided the light from the darkness.

5. And God called the light Day, and the darkness he called Night. And the evening and the morning were the first day.

6. And God said, Let there be a firmament in the midst of the waters, and let it divide the waters from the waters.

7. And God made the firmament, and divided the waters which were under the firmament from the waters which were above the firmament: and it was so.

8. And God called the firmament Heaven. And the evening and the morning were the second day.

9. And God said, Let the waters under the Heaven be gathered together unto one place, and let the dry land appear: and it was so.

10. And God called the dry land Earth; and the gathering together of the waters called he Seas: and God saw that it was good.

11. And God said, Let the earth bring forth grass, the herb yielding seed, and the fruit tree yielding fruit after his kind, whose seed is in itself, upon the earth: and it was so.

12. And the earth brought forth grass, and herb yielding seed after his kind, and the tree yielding fruit, whose seed was in itself, after his kind: and God saw that it was good.

13. And the evening and the morning were the third day.

14. And God said, Let there be lights in the firmament of the heaven to divide the day from the night; and let them be for signs, and for seasons, and for days, and years:

15. And let them be for lights in the firmament of the heaven to give light upon the earth: and it was so.

16. And God made two great lights; the greater light to rule the day, and the lesser light to rule the night: he made the stars also.

17. And God set them in the firmament of the heaven to give light upon the earth,

18. And to rule over the day and over the night, and to divide the light from the darkness: and God saw that it was good.

19. And the evening and the morning were the fourth day.

I only have listed the first 4 days to save some space, the rest of the first week was spoken as well. So what is the point if God spoke it or made it with His hands?

The main point is the power of God is in His spoken word, and to understand His power and operate in it we need to understand what it is. How many of you have spoken anything into existence? Yes, you may have made things from other things in your work shop, but none have spoken things into being out of nothing as God did.

Strong's Ref. # 746

Romanized arche

Pronounced ar-khay'

from GSN0756; (properly abstract) a comencement, or (concretely) chief (in various applications of order, time, place, or rank):

KJV--beginning, corner, (at the, the) first (estate), magistrate, power, principality, principle, rule.

Strong's Ref. # 2258

Romanized en

Pronounced ane

imperfect of GSN1510; I (thou, etc.) was (wast or were):

KJV--+ agree, be, X have (+ charge of), hold, use, was(-t), were.

If you read the Literal Translation above and then look at the definition of "beginning" and "was" in the Strong's you will see that beginning is "power", and was is to "agree" or "agreed", or the King James would read as:

King James Version

John 1

1. In the power agreed the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.

2. The same was in the power with God.

You can see that the power of God agreed with the Word of God, the spoken word of God and that is how all was created.

I am sure you will agree that there is no beginning or end for God, so in John 1:1 stating it as a beginning for God would not be correct. But once you read it in the Greek or the Literal and then compare the word beginning with the same word in Genesis 1:1 that talks about the beginning of the world not God, you would see they are two different words. The one in Genesis 1:1 is the beginning as in Marked time, where the one in John 1:1 is not.

Pronounced ray-sheeth'

from the same as HSN7218; the first, in place, time, order or rank (specifically, a firstfruit):

KJV--beginning, chief(-est), first(-fruits, part, time), principal thing.

Luke 1

30. And the angel said unto her, Fear not, Mary: for thou hast found favour with God.

31. And, behold, thou shalt conceive in thy womb, and bring forth a son, and shalt call his name Jesus.

32. He shall be great, and shall be called the Son of the Highest: and the Lord God shall give unto him the throne of his father David:

33. And he shall reign over the house of Jacob for ever; and of his kingdom there shall be no end.

34. Then said Mary unto the angel, How shall this be, seeing I know not a man?

35. And the angel answered and said unto her, The Holy Ghost shall come upon thee, and the power of the Highest shall overshadow thee: therefore also that holy thing which shall be born of thee shall be called the Son of God.

36. And, behold, thy cousin Elisabeth, she hath also conceived a son in her old age: and this is the sixth month with her, who was called barren.

37. For with God nothing shall be impossible.

38. And Mary said, Behold the handmaid of the Lord; be it unto me according to thy word. And the angel departed from her.

Above you see that Mary was not in any way made pregnant other than her agreeing with the Angel, "According to thy word" and then she was pregnant. Have you ever heard of anyone else getting pregnant by word?

John 1

14. And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth.

I have always read the above sentence as the word of God became flesh, and that is still partly true, but it is also the word spoken by all the men and women of God who came before and spoke of Jesus & his coming, and then Mary agreeing with the word and then the word became flesh.

What we will learn is how to get the power of God in those who have it to work with the spoken word.

What happens is this, those who are of Christ will learn the power of God is in them, and when their spoken words line up with the glory of God the power works.

Yes, I said those who are of Christ. There are 3 levels to salvation.

In Revelation Jesus writes to the church, not the body of Christ. In II Thess 2:7-12 we see the power of God is removed then the antichrist is revealed. The power of God is in Christ, not the church or Jesus.

1 Corinthians

24. But unto them which are called, both Jews and Greeks, Christ the power of God, and the wisdom of God.

In the above verse it does not say, Jesus or church but Christ and Christ only.

Many had thought up until the 1980's that Christ was the last name of Jesus or His title; it is neither.

Some call the anointing to be filled or in filled with the Holy Spirit.

We now know that Christ means anointing, and to be anointed is to have the Spirit of God in, on and through us. When we are saved we have the Spirit of God just in us, not on and through.

We also know there are 3 stages of growth.

Now as the body of Christ we learn the power of God is in us. As we learn how to take every thought captive and only allow those that are of God to take root and cast down all others, we are on the road to having the power work in and through us. For it to work we also have to forgive all others no matter what (Mark 11:26), and not to judge any not even ourselves (Matthew 7:1-5).

At this point all that is left is to have the power and our words work together and the glory of God will be revealed to all who are watching.

2 Corinthians 10

5. Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ;

Read this study, along with the one called "Life Starts Here" over and over until it finally gets down into you.

1 John 4

1. Beloved, believe not every spirit, but try the spirits whether they are of God: because many false prophets are gone out into the world.

2. Hereby know ye the Spirit of God: Every spirit that confesseth that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is of God:

3. And every spirit that confesseth not that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is not of God: and this is that spirit of antichrist, whereof ye have heard that it should come; and even now already is it in the world.

To hear from God first spend time everyday listening (at first you will hear nothing, but) in time you will hear, then ask the above question if it answers that Jesus came in the flesh you have the one and only God.

Now listen and obey,

Before you get started there are a few things you can do to help your growth and hearing from God.

  1. Stop all judging including judging yourself.
  2. Forgive all, including yourself. To forgive is to forget a well.
  3. Do not wait until you have a problem to seek God.

The above 3 are the most important things we need to do.

Prayer is asking - you ask God once and then thank Him for the answer. Imagine you call a friend in NY for $100 on Friday night. You live in Texas and they say they will put it in the mail on Saturday. You talk to them again on Sunday, do you ask for the $100 again? No, but you could thank them for sending it even though you have not yet received the check. With God it is the same, first ask, then thank Him by praising Him.

Other studies that will help you grow and learn more as well as they were a huge help with this study.

3 John 1

2. Beloved, I wish above all things that thou mayest prosper and be in health, even as thy soul prospereth

Remember to show faith when you pray, then praise and give thanks.

God Bless You as you hear His words and follow His leading.
