The Sanctity Of Life
Pastor Sherrye Fuentes, author Have you ever thought about the origin of life? It is a really hot topic these days. Not just the creationists vs the evolutionists, but also between the pro-life, and pro-abortionists. We Pro-lifers know the embryo is alive from the moment of conception; while the pro-abortionists say it is not alive until it takes its first breath. WELL, the Word of God has something to say about this. Look at Psalms 139:13-16.
Psalms 139:13 For You have possessed my inward parts; You have covered me in my mother's womb.
The way I read it, God sees us as a real person from moment one, whether or not we have ever actually taken a breath of air with our physical lungs. I say it that way because I believe all things that take a breath get their life from God. Science has not been able to create anything alive from scratch. They can try and try, but LIFE cannot be there without the intervention of the Almighty God.
Consider this verse:
Psalms 127:3 Lo, children [are] the inheritance of the LORD; the fruit of the womb [is] a reward.
The Holy Spirit is telling us that children belong to God! They are not for us to be able to do with them as we please! He allows us the priviledge of having them around us for a time, but they belong to HIM, and we are supposed to take care of them and teach them until they are able to hear from Him by themselves. We so often forget that it is an honor and priviledge to have a child to care for a little while.
I shudder to imagine how He must feel when He looks down at our nation. We have really sacrificed an entire generation of children on the altar of the abortion clinics. It must break His heart to see us throw away the precious gifts He gives us, before they are even able to take a breath.
We are so blessed that Jesus was not born in this generation. Just read these verses to see what I am talking about.
Luke 1:15 For he shall be great in the sight of the Lord, and shall neither drink wine nor strong drink. And he shall be filled with [the] Holy Spirit, even from his mother's womb.
These lines are talking about John (the Baptist), Jesus' cousin. Mary had only been pregnant with Jesus a very short time...days, or maybe only a matter of hours; yet the 6 month old "fetus" inside Elizabeth felt His presence via the Holy Spirit. Plus! the Holy Spirit was transferred from the "fetus" (soon to be John) to his mother, who imediately proceeded to prophesy! If Elizabeth had been alive today, her doctor would have probably told her that she was too old, the baby was going to have physical problems and she should have an abortion to prevent any inconvenience. Thank God for His timing! If Mary had been around today (a pregnant, unwed teenager) she would probably have been advised...maybe even by her own family members or fiance'... to get an abortion because she was too young, she would be disgraced, and a baby would just mess up her whole life! Praise God for His foresight!
YES, it breaks the heart of God to see a nation destroying His children. YES, it is a great tragedy for everyone involved. YES, Satan is jumping around with glee every time it happens, BUT it did NOT happen 2000 years ago with Mary and Jesus, SO God can forgive us! Jesus died so we could be forgiven, so His blood could wash us clean of even our unborn children's blood. Hallelujah.! There is Hope for this world and that Hope's name is JESUS.
If you know someone who might be considering an abortion, or who has already had one, do not hesitate to tell them about Jesus' and God's love for them. The time is NOW to stand up for the sanctitiy of life and let our voices be heard. Pray as well...tell God how you feel and ask Him to forgive us as a nation and have mercy on us, in Jesus' name.

3 John 12. Beloved, I wish above all things that thou mayest prosper and be in health, even as thy soul prospereth.
Remember to show faith when you pray, then praise and give thanks.

Psalms 139:16 Your eyes saw my embryo; and in Your book all [my members] were written, the days they were formed, and not one [was] among them.
Luke 1:41 And it happened as Elizabeth heard the greeting of Mary, the babe leaped in her womb. And Elizabeth was filled with the Holy Spirit,
Luke 1:44 For lo, as the voice of your greeting sounded in my ears, the babe leaped in my womb for joy.
