And to know the truth can only come from knowing, not just knowing of God, John 14:26, I John 2:27, Rev 3:19-22.

Wisdom

Knowledge without wisdom is like a car without gas. It will not go anywhere or in this case accomplish anything.

Colossians 2

  1. In whom are hid all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge.

Christ is in whom all are hidden.

Colossians 1

  1. To whom God would make known what is the riches of the glory of this mystery among the Gentiles; which is Christ in you, the hope of glory:

Wisdom and knowledge are in Christ.

Proverbs 4

1. Hear, ye children, the instruction of a father, and attend to know understanding.

2. For I give you good doctrine, forsake ye not my law.

3. For I was my father's son, tender and only beloved in the sight of my mother.

4. He taught me also, and said unto me, Let thine heart retain my words: keep my comandments, and live.

5. Get wisdom, get understanding: forget it not; neither decline from the words of my mouth.

6. Forsake her not, and she shall preserve thee: love her, and she shall keep thee.

7. Wisdom is the principal thing; therefore get wisdom: and with all thy getting get understanding.

8. Exalt her, and she shall promote thee: she shall bring thee to honour, when thou dost embrace her.

9. She shall give to thine head an ornament of grace: a crown of glory shall she deliver to thee.

10. Hear, O my son, and receive my sayings; and the years of thy life shall be many.

Wisdom will add years to your life.

Mark 6

  1. And when the sabbath day was come, he began to teach in the synagogue: and many hearing him were astonished, saying, From whence hath this man these things? and what wisdom is this which is given unto him, that even such mighty works are wrought by his hands?

In the works was seen great wisdom.

Luke 1

14. And thou shalt have joy and gladness; and many shall rejoice at his birth.

15. For he shall be great in the sight of the Lord, and shall drink neither wine nor strong drink; and he shall be filled with the Holy Ghost, even from his mother's womb.

16. And many of the children of Israel shall he turn to the Lord their God.

17. And he shall go before him in the spirit and power of Elias, to turn the hearts of the fathers to the children, and the disobedient to the wisdom of the just; to make ready a people prepared for the Lord.

18. And Zacharias said unto the angel, Whereby shall I know this? for I am an old man, and my wife well stricken in years.

John the Baptist was even filled with the Holy Spirit and with the Spirit of God comes wisdom.

Luke 2

  1. And the child (Jesus) grew, and waxed strong in spirit, filled with wisdom: and the grace of God was upon him.

  2. And Jesus increased in wisdom and stature, and in favour with God and man.

He increased in wisdom and stature, and in favor with both God and men.

Luke 21

  1. For I will give you a mouth and wisdom, which all your adversaries shall not be able to gainsay nor resist.

Acts 6

  1. Wherefore, brethren, look ye out among you seven men of honest report, full of the Holy Ghost and wisdom, whom we may appoint over this business.

Romans 11

  1. O the depth of the riches both of the wisdom and knowledge of God! how unsearchable are his judgments, and his ways past finding out!

I Corinthians 1

20. Where is the wise? where is the scribe? where is the disputer of this world? hath not God made foolish the wisdom of this world?

21. For after that in the wisdom of God the world by wisdom knew not God, it pleased God by the foolishness of preaching to save them that believe.


24. But unto them which are called, both Jews and Greeks, Christ the power of God, and the wisdom of God.


30. But of him are ye in Christ Jesus, who of God is made unto us wisdom, and righteousness, and sanctification, and redemption:


I Corinthians 2

5. That your faith should not stand in the wisdom of men, but in the power of God.

6. Howbeit we speak wisdom among them that are perfect: yet not the wisdom of this world, nor of the princes of this world, that come to nought:

7. But we speak the wisdom of God in a mystery, even the hidden wisdom, which God ordained before the world unto our glory:

God's wisdom is buried in His Spirit and when you are of Christ, you are of the Spirit of God and His wisdom.

1 Corinthians 12

  1. For to one is given by the Spirit the word of wisdom; to another the word of knowledge by the same Spirit;

Notice the word of wisdom comes first, it is more important to be wise with little knowledge than to be unwise with a lot of knowledge.

Ephesians 1

17. That the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give unto you the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of him:

When Jesus is revealed to you, who He is as the Christ and Son of God, you become a part of the church (Matthew 16:15-19), but it does not end there, it just starts there.

Ephesians 3

  1. To the intent that now unto the principalities and powers in heavenly places might be known by the church the manifold wisdom of God,

Colossians 1

28. Whom we preach, warning every man, and teaching every man in all wisdom; that we may present every man perfect in Christ Jesus:

Colossians 4

  1. Walk in wisdom toward them that are without, redeeming the time.

Wisdom is one of the most important, if not the most important area of growth in our walk with the Lord. Without wisdom we will always have problems, in our finances, health, or salvation in general. It is wisdom that powers the knowledge.

James 1

5. If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all men liberally, and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him.

All you have to do is ask for wisdom and God gladly gives it.

What is the evidence of Wisdom?

James 3

13. Who is a wise man and endued with knowledge among you? let him shew out of a good conversation his works with meekness of wisdom.

14. But if ye have bitter envying and strife in your hearts, glory not, and lie not against the truth.

15. This wisdom descendeth not from above, but is earthly, sensual, devilish.

16. For where envying and strife is, there is confusion and every evil work.

17. But the wisdom that is from above is first pure, then peaceable, gentle, and easy to be intreated, full of mercy and good fruits, without partiality, and without hypocrisy.

18. And the fruit of righteousness is sown in peace of them that make peace.

Isaiah 11

  1. And the spirit of the Lord shall rest upon him, the spirit of wisdom and understanding, the spirit of counsel and might, the spirit of knowledge and of the fear of the Lord;

Luke 11

49. Therefore also said the wisdom of God, I will send them prophets and apostles, and some of them they shall slay and persecute:

Here are four parts of God that you need.

Faith in and from God

Love for and from God

Wisdom of and from God

Righteousness of and from God

Matthew 6

6:33 But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.

In seeking the kingdom of God and His righteousness you are also seeking wisdom.
