Before you read this study understand that we do not teach, we share and then ask all who read the following take it to God and verify it with Him. We believe a lot of the world is misled by the church of the world and religion vs the one true church. And to know the truth can only come from knowing, not just knowing of God, John 14:26, I John 2:27, Rev 3:19-22.
Many are called but few are chosen because many are misled by false teachers Matthew 7:13-15 so we help all who wants to know the truth how to find and know the truth of and by God and not of and by man.

Word

Pastor J. R. Wilhite, author   Close Window

First thing you need to understand is the Word is not just "a" word, but "The" Word (logos) and then there are our words.

John 1:1. In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.

2. The same was in the beginning with God.

3. All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made.

4. In him was life; and the life was the light of men.

  1. And the light shineth in darkness; and the darkness comprehended it not.

John 1:14 And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth.

So we know The Word is part of God. His word also created everything. If it can do that, then are there any limitations to His Word?

IS 55:11 So shall my word be that goeth forth out of my mouth: it shall not return unto me void, but it shall accomplish that which I please, and it shall prosper in the thing whereto I sent it.

It cannot lie and it cannot do anything other than what it is told to do. If we pray and add a name in a prayer in the name of Jesus, that name has to be brought back to God. This does not mean the answer to the prayer will manifest that moment. It could take some time, a day or week. It could be longer. Remember Daniel had to wait 21 days for the answer to his prayer, and the angel explained why:

Daniel 10:

12 Then said he unto me, Fear not, Daniel: for from the first day that thou didst set thine heart to understand, and to chasten thyself before thy God, thy words were heard, and I am come for thy words.

13 But the prince of the kingdom of Persia withstood me one and twenty days:

Matthew 12:

34. O generation of vipers, how can ye, being evil, speak good things? for out of the

abundance of the heart the mouth speaketh.

  1. A good man out of the good treasure of the heart bringeth forth good things: and an evil man out of the evil treasure bringeth forth evil things.

Strong's Ref. # 2344

Romanized thesauros

Pronounced thay-sow-ros'

from GSN5087; a deposit, i.e. wealth (literally or figuratively):

KJV--treasure.

  1. But I say unto you, That every idle word that men shall speak, they shall give account thereof in the day of judgment.
  1. For by thy words thou shalt be justified, and by thy words thou shalt be condemned.

We will be judged by our words. Our actions reflect our words, but our actions do not start the process. It is first started by what we allow to take up residency in our heart, either the words of this world or the Word of God. Then out of us come the words which we have allowed in, and from there come our actions.

John 8:26. I have many things to say and to judge of you: but he that sent me is true; and I speak to the world those things which I have heard of him.

27. They understood not that he spake to them of the Father.

28. Then said Jesus unto them, When ye have lifted up the Son of man, then shall ye know that I am he, and that I do nothing of myself; but as my Father hath taught me, I speak these things.

29. And he that sent me is with me: the Father hath not left me alone; for I do always those things that please him.

30. As he spake these words, many believed on him.

31. Then said Jesus to those Jews which believed on him, If ye continue in my word, then are ye my disciples indeed;

  1. And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.

Jesus even relied upon what He heard from God and only allowed in that which was of the Father. It is by knowing the Father that we are set free, because He is the truth.

If you do not believe we can hear from the Father, read the following verses.

James 3:2. For in many things we offend all. If any man offend not in word, the same is a perfect man, and able also to bridle the whole body.

3. Behold, we put bits in the horses' mouths, that they may obey us; and we turn about their whole body.

4. Behold also the ships, which though they be so great, and are driven of fierce winds, yet are they turned about with a very small helm, whithersoever the governor listeth.

5. Even so the tongue is a little member, and boasteth great things. Behold, how great a matter a little fire kindleth!

6. And the tongue is a fire, a world of iniquity: so is the tongue among our members, that it defileth the whole body, and setteth on fire the course of nature; and it is set on fire of hell.

As sure as a knife leaves a wound for a short time, then a scar, words leave wounds that last for a long time and in some cases never heal.

Here is a lie you have all heard. "Sticks and stones may break my bones, but words will never harm me." Satan wants us to believe that so we will not understand the power of the spoken word.

Mark 4: 2. And he taught them many things by parables, and said unto them in his doctrine,

3. HeMarken; Behold, there went out a sower to sow:

4. And it came to pass, as he sowed, some fell by the way side, and the fowls of the air came and devoured it up.

5. And some fell on stony ground, where it had not much earth; and imediately it sprang up, because it had no depth of earth:

6. But when the sun was up, it was scorched; and because it had no root, it withered away.

7. And some fell among thorns, and the thorns grew up, and choked it, and it yielded no fruit.

8. And other fell on good ground, and did yield fruit that sprang up and increased; and brought forth, some thirty, and some sixty, and some an hundred.

9. And he said unto them, He that hath ears to hear, let him hear.

10. And when he was alone, they that were about him with the twelve asked of him the parable.

11. And he said unto them, Unto you it is given to know the mystery of the kingdom of God: but unto them that are without, all these things are done in parables:

12. That seeing they may see, and not perceive; and hearing they may hear, and not understand; lest at any time they should be converted, and their sins should be forgiven them.

13. And he said unto them, Know ye not this parable? and how then will ye know all parables?

14. The sower soweth the word.

15. And these are they by the way side, where the word is sown; but when they have heard, Satan cometh imediately, and taketh away the word that was sown in their hearts.

16. And these are they likewise which are sown on stony ground; who, when they have heard the word, imediately receive it with gladness;

17. And have no root in themselves, and so endure but for a time: afterward, when affliction or persecution ariseth for the word's sake, imediately they are offended.

18. And these are they which are sown among thorns; such as hear the word,

19. And the cares of this world, and the deceitfulness of riches, and the lusts of other things entering in, choke the word, and it becometh unfruitful.

20. And these are they which are sown on good ground; such as hear the word, and receive it, and bring forth fruit, some thirtyfold, some sixty, and some an hundred.

21. And he said unto them, Is a candle brought to be put under a bushel, or under a bed? and not to be set on a candlestick?

22. For there is nothing hid, which shall not be manifested; neither was any thing kept secret, but that it should come abroad.

23. If any man have ears to hear, let him hear.

24. And he said unto them, Take heed what ye hear: with what measure ye mete, it shall be measured to you: and unto you that hear shall more be given.

25. For he that hath, to him shall be given: and he that hath not, from him shall be taken even that which he hath.

  1. And he said, So is the kingdom of God, as if a man should cast seed into the ground;

Here you learn that you are in one of four groups. One allows the word to fall on deaf ears, one allows it to last just a short time, one that allows it to be stolen, and one that lasts, and lasts, and lasts.

As you learn the word and the word sinks in you, it will start to change even your faith.

How do we receive faith anyway?

Romans 10: 17. So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.

Matthew 22: 14. For many are called, but few are chosen.

The "many" are all who live. The few are those who listen and heed God's call. The chosen are those who follow and are obedient to God.

Matthew 24:24. For there shall arise false Christs, and false prophets, and shall shew great signs and wonders; insomuch that, if it were possible, they shall deceive the very elect.

II Thess 2: 9. Even him, whose coming is after the working of Satan with all power and signs and lying wonders,

We do not learn the word for signs and wonders. Those who are chasing after signs and wonders are like a dog chasing its tail. We learn the word to know the truth and to be set free. We then help others learn the truth and be set free.
