Strong's Ref. # 7451

Romanized ra`

Pronounced rah

from HSN7489; bad or (as noun) evil (natural or moral):

Evil is one of those misunderstood words, one that people place to high and on objects.

Weapons, idols, books, movies, and so on are all evil by one group or another.

Guns are not evil, it is who uses the gun that is evil. Idols are not evil, allowing them to be in our life or worship them is evil. Books, movies, and television is not evil, it is what is shown or developed that is evil.

Here are some translations and explanation of evil.

KJV--adversity, affliction, bad, calamity, + displease(-ure), distress, evil([-favouredness], man, thing), + exceedingly, X great, grief(-vous), harm, heavy, hurt(-ful), ill (favoured), + Mark, mischief(-vous), misery, naught(-ty), noisome, + not please, sad(-ly), sore, sorrow, trouble, vex, wicked(-ly, -ness, one), worse(-st), wretchedness, wrong. [Including feminine raaah; as adjective or noun.].

--Bible Text Book.

FALSE CONFIDENCE, DECEPTION, FALSEHOOD, FLATTERY, HYPOCRISY are just a few more that are ways to be evil.

Evil is an action, not an object, Satan is evil, but as Lucifer he was not.

19. Now the works of the flesh are manifest, which are these; Adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lasciviousness,

20. Idolatry, witchcraft, hatred, variance, emulations, wrath, strife, seditions, heresies,

21. Envyings, murders, drunkenness, revellings, and such like: of the which I tell you before, as I have also told you in time past, that they which do such things shall not inherit the kingdom of God.

22. But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith,

23. Meekness, temperance: against such there is no law.

24. And they that are Christ's have crucified the flesh with the affections and lusts.

25. If we live in the Spirit, let us also walk in the Spirit.

  1. Let us not be desirous of vain glory, provoking one another, envying one another.

Strong's Ref. # 4561

Romanized sarx

Pronounced sarx

probably from the base of GSN4563; flesh (as stripped of the skin), i.e. (strictly) the meat of an animal (as food), or (by extension) the body (as opposed to the soul [or spirit], or as the symbol of what is external, or as the means of kindred), or (by implication) human nature (with its frailties [physically or morally] and passions), or (specifically) a human being (as such):

KJV--carnal(-ly, + -ly minded), flesh([-ly]).

As Jesus rebuked the Pharisses for rebuking the apostles for eating without washing of their hands so are we rebuked of our flesh. Or we should rebuke the flesh.

The law was given to protect, to wash first before eating was to reduce the chance of getting sick. But the Pharisees (like ours today) took it and made it holy.

Our flesh is the same as the dish Jesus referred to, He stated it was not the dish that was important, but what was in it, and that is the same with the flesh. The flesh is not important it is what is inside that is or like a car, it is not the car that is important but those in it.

Flesh is not evil it is the acts of the flesh that are evil and more times than not.

We are at war, our minds are the battleground, and the flesh sways to either side it is weak.

As we are at war, we have battles lost, and won, but the victory is ours at the end if we just stay fixed on the Lord.

Yes, you are forgiven of all sin (all except denying the Lord or rejecting Him) and I am not saying this next part to give you a lic to sin, but it does not matter if you sin once or 1,000 times (even the same sin, the same day) you are forgiven as long as you ask.

We do not punish a toddler for doing wrong, even if they use terrible language or violent. We love them and teach them not to be that way, and in the mean time, we do not burn them at the stake, we understand they do not know what they are doing.

We are a lot like this, we do things and sometimes things we know are wrong, but God still forgives. He sees us as toddlers, and understands, He knows in time we will learn.

And like toddlers some faster than others.

Satan will use what ever he can to bring us down, 6,000 years ago about he did what he could to have implanted in us thoughts that are wrong and wicked.

Genesis 3:22

  1. And the Lord God said, Behold, the man is become as one of us, to know good and evil: and now, lest he put forth his hand, and take also of the tree of life, and eat, and live for ever:

The difference was God knew evil, He just did not except it, and we stubble with it daily.

As a child with a handicap would be treated by his/her parents different than a normal child do to the handicap so are we treated different by God.
