Angel Intervention

My sister Darlene was 16 years old and had brought in a bad report card. She was depressed because she had tried to do better but she just couldn't seem to get better grades. Into this equation my parents were alcoholic's and Mom would act up when she was drinking by saying things she didn't really mean and wouldn't have said normally. She was like Jekyll and Hyde when sober and drunk.
Since either parent really cared whether she made good grades or not they basically said, "what did you expect". As Darlene was listening to their arguments her depression grew. A soft sweet voice spoke in her ear "just take a bottle of pills and it will be alright". She didn't stop to think of the implications of what was said, she just immediately got up, went to Mom's pocketbook, pulled out a bottle of pills and took the whole thing. It turned out to be about 27 blood pressure pills. She then returned to the bedroom and sat on the floor amongst all her schoolbooks.
As the pills began to work she began to feel very weak and she realized suddenly what she had done and realized that she was dying. She did not want to die. The sweet voice had lied. It would not be all-right. It would be all-wrong!
She did not have a relationship with God but knew him as someone you met at church. She simply said from the depths of her soul. "What have I done? God help me, what have I done? She attempted to get up but her body was like water just lying on the floor. Suddenly large hands reached under her arms and lifted her up. She was carried upright with just her toes touching the floor. The angel carried her this way and dropped her kerplop at the feet of my dad.
She said, "Dad I took a bottle of Momma's pills and I can't get up. He hurried to the bedroom and found the empty bottle of pills in there. He told Mom who was too drunk to help with anything. He struggled to get Darlene in the truck all the time knowing that it was going to be a race for her life.
In the emergency room they pumped her stomach out and saved her life. When she told Dad that she was too weak to walk and someone carried her Dad said no one was there. Then he remembered that her legs were not moving and her toes looked like they were barely touching the floor. He heard in his mind the kerplop when she hit the floor and realized that if God had not intervened she would be dead and he would not have known it until the next morning when he woke her up for school.
He brought Darlene to my house because I lived close to the hospital and they had said to watch her during the rest of the night. She was still very weak. She told me about the angel and although I thought at the time that I did not know how to pray. I told God Thank You for giving her back because I knew beyond a shadow of a doubt even before I had a relationship with God that HE sent the angel to the rescue.
Intervention comes in many forms and who knows why some people try and succeed the first time they attempt suicide and others are miraculously saved. We learned to fear the sweet, sugar sweet voice of the suicide demon for we now know that was what spoke to her. The voice of God is powerful and you have no trouble telling the difference once you've heard both. Suicide again visited our family in the form of taking our nephew Russell Weaver. Doris (another sister, we come from a large family) and I cried from the soul for two days over this child. It was a soul cry that I know now was to do intervention to stop this spirit from having access to our family. I can still remember the feel of my soul weeping and it is like no other weeping. I have cried about members that have died, even my own child and the soul weeping is another dimension entirely. Doris was going through this at the same time that I was and neither knew what the other was going through. I evidently reached a point of anger against the demon or it was God that rose up because I commanded him to stay away from my family and told him that he would never touch another blood relative to mine. I was later to learn that this was called spiritual warfare and it truly feels like you are fighting a strong force field. God took someone like me and Doris who didn't know what we were doing, had no teaching of what this was and led us through what was needed to stop this thing. It has been ten years since Russell did this and the demon has not breached the wall that God put up around my family.
Angels are real and they have power to intervene, guard, comfort, and stop violence when called on. Darlene was the first intervention but was not the last. Darlene is now a caregiver to people that are terminal. She has no fear of death and counts it a blessing that God sends her in to ease this person with her presence. She brings a comforting spirit that some patients have even waited asking for her to come and when she comes in and holds their hand they just ease on out. I don't know how she does it but I know what the angel intervened for. This is the final journey that so many people fear and a person with no fear opens the door and walks through spiritually with each one. She has a gift like no other person I know and I thank God for giving her back to so many already and so many more to assist.
