Hearing from God II Many wonder if there is a God and if there is why He does not show Himself to us in a physical way we can believe. First, if nothing else, you need to understand something. For life and all that is in this universe to have been created out of chaos and for as many unique, simultaneous, chance happenings to occur the odds are so high it is IMPOSSIBLE. Even those who do not believe in creation, once they are exposed to how many chance happenings had to occur to just create the earth and to create life as we know it is so high, they will believe some intelligence had to be involved to start life. Some form of higher reasoning than chaos had to be involved to shape the universe and all that happened to create life.
We believe in God either due to being told there is a God or because we know. How we know that we know is because we have heard from God. Once we have heard, nothing can ever take our knowing away from us. This does not make us perfect and we will still make mistakes, even sin.Romans 8

5.can hear from God but that we are supposed to hear from God and how we can hear from God.
The problem is that since we do not just automatically hear from God it requires from us time and desire as well as discipline to hear. Many have trouble with this because they believe if God wanted to talk to them He would and they would just hear. However, there is something between God and us that interferes with our hearing. It is like listening to AM radio in your car. There are times it comes through clearly and times (due to power lines, buildings, tunnels, or overpasses) that it breaks up or you can not hear anything. The station did not stop broadcasting and the broadcast was still being transmitted but something got in the way of the transmission and our radio. God is speaking but we have (however many) years of being told the about world and its garbage that keeps us from hearing Him. This is not new; it has been since the beginning. Abram was 75 before God got through to him and he became Abraham. Moses spent 40 years in Egypt as an Egyptian then he learned that he was a Jew. Then Moses spent 40 years in the wilderness before God appeared to him. It took 40 years in the wilderness to get the 40 years of the world out for God to be able to reach Moses. It is the same for us except we have Grace. Due to Grace we can hear from God a lot sooner if we first have the desire and discipline required to do so. Some have told me, "He is God and if He wants me to hear from Him all He has to do is talk to me." That is true to a degree, but since we also have free will we have the ability to not hear from Him by blocking it with doubt and lack of belief that has been implanted into us by the world. The difference between God and Satan is that Satan forces his thoughts on us but God does not force. We must seek His thoughts.
