Before you read this study understand that we do not teach, we share and then ask all who read the following take it to God and verify it with Him. We believe a lot of the world is misled by the church of the world and religion vs the one true church. And to know the truth can only come from knowing, not just knowing of God, John 14:26, I John 2:27, Rev 3:19-22.
Many are called but few are chosen because many are misled by false teachers Matthew 7:13-15 so we help all who wants to know the truth how to find and know the truth of and by God and not of and by man.

Signs

Pastor Jerry Wilhite, author

In this study we will look at how we should judge ourselves and review how we are growing in Him, how this happens, and what has to happen for it to start and continue.

To understand how to judge whether or not we are in His will we must understand that we are to be and what His will is for us.

John 3

16. For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.

His will is that we all be saved from death and Hell to everlasting life with Him.

John 3

3. Jesus answered and said unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.

4. Nicodemus saith unto him, How can a man be born when he is old? can he enter the second time into his mother's womb, and be born?

5. Jesus answered, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God.

6. That which is born of the flesh is flesh; and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit.

We are saved into everlasting life with Him by being born again in to the Spirit. This is when His Spirit sustains our spirit. Up to this point our spirit has only been fed by our soul (mind, will and emotions) that is fed by the world (Satan). Even afterwards we are still being fed by our soul. At this point we must be one accord (one mind with Him) as described in Acts 2:1, casting down all imaginations (thoughts and ideas) that go against the knowledge of Him (II Cor 10:5a), and taking the remaining into captivity to the obedience of Christ (II Cor 10:5b). This is done by renewing our mind daily in His word (Romans 12:2) and hearing from Him so He can teach us (John 14:26).

Acts 2

1. And when the day of Pentecost was fully come, they were all with one accord in one place.

One accord means one mind–ours with God’s. One place means in the Spirit.

2 Corinthians 10

5. Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ;

Casting down all that does not line up with His knowledge.

Romans 12

2. And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.

It means renewing our mind in Him, in His will and mind.

John 14

26. But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you.

As we spend time daily to hear from Him, He can teach us all things.

Acts 22

14. And he said, The God of our fathers hath chosen thee, that thou shouldest know his will, and see that Just One, and shouldest hear the voice of his mouth.

We know His will from the Word, but we are supposed to understand and know it well from His mouth.

Matthew 6

10. Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven.

His will be done on earth as it is in heaven…in heaven there is no sickness, illness, debt, lack, relationship issues, and all hear God and know Him and His will. His will is love–For us to love Him before everything and everyone else, with every part of our being, and love each other as we love ourselves.

The problem is His love exceeds all of the love of the physical. It has power in it in ways and levels we have a hard time even understanding. His love can change or save a world.

Now that you have understanding of His will somewhat, let's learn where we are to fit in, how and what we must do. We will first review areas of teachings that have been off a little here and there enough to keep us from the truth.

PRAYER

Matthew 6

5. And when thou prayest, thou shalt not be as the hypocrites are: for they love to pray standing in the synagogues and in the corners of the streets, that they may be seen of men. Verily I say unto you, They have their reward.

6. But thou, when thou prayest, enter into thy closet, and when thou hast shut thy door, pray to thy Father which is in secret; and thy Father which seeth in secret shall reward thee openly.

7. But when ye pray, use not vain repetitions, as the heathen do: for they think that they shall be heard for their much speaking.

8. Be not ye therefore like unto them: for your Father knoweth what things ye have need of, before ye ask him.

We are to pray in private and not long drawn out words or repetitious, but direct and to the point; then listen.

WORSHIP

John 4

23. But the hour cometh, and now is, when the true worshippers shall worship the Father in spirit and in truth: for the Father seeketh such to worship him.

24. God is a Spirit: and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth.

We worship Him in spirit and truth. Truth is only found in His Spirit.

John 15

26. But when the Comforter is come, whom I will send unto you from the Father, even the Spirit of truth, which proceedeth from the Father, he shall testify of me:

HOW

How we worship, pray, do any and all we are to do in and with Him has to start with knowledge; we hear and read about Him in the word of God. In the word there are many pointers for us to follow that tell us how.

Revelation 3

19. As many as I love, I rebuke and chasten: be zealous therefore, and repent.

20. Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me.

21. To him that overcometh will I grant to sit with me in my throne, even as I also overcame, and am set down with my Father in his throne.

22. He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches.

What most people miss is that the breathed word of God was not originally in English. The Old Testament is in Hebrew and New Testament is in Greek. In English all translators chose a word or two from the many words each word in Hebrew or Greek meant to be in the English version. In a lot of cases they used a word to convey all the Greek or Hebrew in one word that was not even in the Greek or Hebrew. For example: Church.

Below is the Strong's Reference number to find the word for Church in the Strong's Concordance. Then under it is the actual word, which is EKKLESIA, and how it is pronounced. Then under that is what it would mean in English. Last is what the KJV used to convey the meaning. The actual word is community, a community of those of the body of Christ

Strong's Ref. # 1577

Romanized ekklesia

Pronounced ek-klay-see'-ah

from a compound of GSN1537 and a derivative of GSN2564; a calling out, i.e. (concretely) a popular meeting, especially a religious congregation (Jewish synagogue, or Christian community of members on earth or saints in heaven or both):

KJV--assembly, church.

Today church (like a lot of words) has lost its meaning or become too broad in its use and subsequently is misunderstood.

Community (church) is Jesus’ community that He is building based on a revealed knowledge from the heavenly Father to an individual of who Jesus is as the son of the living God and the Christ.

Matthew 16

18. And I say also unto thee, That thou art Peter, and upon this rock I will build my church; and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it.

Another word is Peter in Matthew 16:18 the Greek word is Petros and below you will read that Peter is only used by the KJV but not in the definition of the word Petros from the Greek. Actually it is "a piece of the rock".

Matthew 16

18. And I say also unto thee, That thou art a piece of the rock, and upon this rock I will build my church; and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it.

Strong's Ref. # 4074

Romanized Petros

Pronounced pet'-ros

a primary word; a (piece of) rock (larger than GSN3037); as a name, Petrus, an apostle:

KJV--Peter, rock. Compare GSN2786.

That which makes someone a piece of His rock or part of His community is found in verse 17 below.

Matthew 16

17. And Jesus answered and said unto him, Blessed art thou, Simon Barjona: for flesh and blood hath not revealed it unto thee, but my Father which is in heaven.

Peter was made a piece of the rock when His Father revealed to Peter who Jesus is as the Christ and the Son of the living God. Flesh and blood did not reveal this to Him, but God, a Spirit, did. When God reveals to us who Jesus is as the Christ (and all that relates to and means) and Son of God then we are a piece of the rock, Community.

How we know we are born again/saved is when God calls us His child.

Romans 8

16. The Spirit itself beareth witness with our spirit, that we are the children of God:

Once we are born again of the Spirit we are then connected directly to God. From His mind and will God teaches via His Spirit, to our spirit, then to our soul (mind, will and emotions). Then it will come out of our mouth as rivers of living water.

John 3

12. If I have told you earthly things, and ye believe not, how shall ye believe, if I tell you of heavenly things?

We can not understand or get a true handle on God, born again or Jesus unless we are of the Spirit. As long as we are not operating in the Spirit we are limited. We are even limited in knowledge of the physical, much more so the Spirit.

John 3

Many have tried to use verse 5 above to justify and prove that baptism is to be of water. If they had read one more verse they would have understood that when Jesus said of water it was in reference to the first birth from a woman. If they had read the entire section closely, even in the physical, they would understand that the conversation between Jesus and Nicodemus was about the birth from a woman's womb and born again is of the Spirit. That simple fact that we first must be born of woman to be eligible to be born again keeps the fallen angels from being eligible to be born again.

John 3

6. That which is born of the flesh is flesh; and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit.

JUDGING

First we must judge whether or not we are even saved/born again.

Romans 10

9. That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.

10. For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.

Most go based on the two above verses that Paul wrote, not what Jesus said. Even with the two verses above Paul does cover the basics. The basics are: first we must believe in our heart (our heart being our spirit) that Jesus, and His ability to save us is real and true and then confess it with our mouth.

Jesus was more accurate in Revelation 3:19-22 about salvation actually being born again from when we are saved from death and Hell. BUT being born again is much more than just being saved from death and Hell. In verse 19, if you read it in Greek, this is what you would read ("who He loves" is explained to us in John 3:16 as referring to all of mankind).

Revelation 3

19. As many as I love, I admonish/convict of sin in their life (rebuke) and to train up a child, i.e. educate, or (by implication) (chasten): discipline to have a warm feeling for the Lord (zealous) therefore, and to reconsider or change of heart (repent).

So He first loves us all and He will admonish or convict us of our sinful lives so He can teach so we will have a warm feeling towards Him and to reconsider or change of heart to Him.

Revelation 3

After He tells us what He will do, He then tells us how. He stands at the door/entrance and knocks. Any who hear His voice and open the door He will enter to dine with, which is to have communion, to start the process of training or teaching us. Then those who overcome or subdue the world/flesh influence, and change from the flesh to the Spirit, will be assured the next life.

Then He again states, "He that hath an ear, let him/her hear what the Spirit saith unto the community." That means you have already heard God call you His child and received at least the revelation knowledge about the community/church. Just because you have heard does not mean you have let Him in all the way or have overcome anything yet. If I stand outside of your house and yell there is a chance you will hear me, but that does not mean you have let me in to say what I need to say.

Matthew 6

14. For if ye forgive men their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you:

15. But if ye forgive not men their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses.

To get to where we need to be where we can hear we must forgive all including self. At first this seems impossible but if you move forward to do this and ask for God's help. He will do all He can to help you be delivered from being unforgiving. This is an area I sought revelation knowledge on and as it came it helped me overcome my old nature of being unforgiving.

Matthew 7

1. Judge not, that ye be not judged.

2. For with what judgment ye judge, ye shall be judged: and with what measure ye mete, it shall be measured to you again.

3. And why beholdest thou the mote that is in thy brother's eye, but considerest not the beam that is in thine own eye?

4. Or how wilt thou say to thy brother, Let me pull out the mote out of thine eye; and, behold, a beam is in thine own eye?

5. Thou hypocrite, first cast out the beam out of thine own eye; and then shalt thou see clearly to cast out the mote out of thy brother's eye.

What most people do not realize is that if we judge we do not forgive. So to forgive we have to stop judging others. No matter how anyone appears, what they do, etc you have no idea what is in their heart or mind; only God does. The person could be on the road to a change in God.

Matthew 7

22. Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works?

Above is a good example of not judging how one can be fooled by outward appearance and acts; here Jesus lists all these do. To all who would see them, outwardly they appear to be true men/women of God.

Matthew 7

23. And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity.

Jesus tells them to depart from Him, that they are workers of evil. So here are those we all could view and believe by their works/acts that they are of God and we find out later that they are not. Why?

Jesus states, "I never knew you." Of course Jesus knew of them, but He did not actually know them. It is like us with the Pope–we know of Him, but we do not actually know the Pope. Only God can truly know someone, know their heart, mind, etc, but for Us to actually know Him we must open up to Him, and He opens up to us and we become one in Him.

Check List

Our check list to gauge how we are doing, how we are growing:

Now these are not necessarily in order for everyone. The point is to review each often, daily, or at least weekly and review how you are doing in each area. Seek His help and spend more time on any that you are not seeing or realizing changes that can be seen in the light of His love.

Matthew 7

7. Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you:

8. For every one that asketh receiveth; and he that seeketh findeth; and to him that knocketh it shall be opened.

9. Or what man is there of you, whom if his son ask bread, will he give him a stone?

10. Or if he ask a fish, will he give him a serpent?

11. If ye then, being evil, know how to give good gifts unto your children, how much more shall your Father which is in heaven give good things to them that ask him?

12. Therefore all things whatsoever ye would that men should do to you, do ye even so to them: for this is the law and the prophets.

Here is the basic order of how it all happens:

  1. We must start by reading His word and listening for Him.
  2. The Lord will either convict us of sin in our life or admonish us about our life.
  3. Then if we let Him in, and listen and learn, we will grow.
  4. In time we will receive revelations from Him about His word that will open us more to His will and help us understand.
  5. We will seek Him daily in His word and in prayer.
  6. As we grow we will see judging in our life reduce, and reduce, and reduce while forgiveness grows, grows, and grows.
  7. In time we will become one with Him, and as He speaks to us from His spirit, to our spirit, it will go to our soul and out of our mouth as rivers of living water.

Does this mean altar calls are wrong? Yes and no; if those who are called forward do so based on His convicting them, then the answer is no. If they do this based on a man/woman calling them forward and it is all head knowledge, then the answer is yes. It would depend on what was taught and stated before the altar call was given. If the one giving the altar call stated that all that have a conviction in their life of the Lord and have not professed it should come forward, then that would be ok. If all they do is say, "All who did not believe and do now come forward" that is borderline in a way I would not want to deal with at this time.
