Before you read this study understand that we do not teach, we share and then ask all who read the following take it to God and verify it with Him. We believe a lot of the world is misled by the church of the world and religion vs the one true church. And to know the truth can only come from knowing, not just knowing of God, John 14:26, I John 2:27, Rev 3:19-22.
Many are called but few are chosen because many are misled by false teachers Matthew 7:13-15 so we help all who wants to know the truth how to find and know the truth of and by God and not of and by man.

The True Church

Pastor Jerry Wilhite, author

I have danced around this subject for years, it is time to get down to it and show all I know. So if you really want to know the truth it is here, but I know this is going to offend many, but it is better to plant the seed of truth than to continue to dance around it. Just remember offense is never found in the truth but is always found in the lie. So if you ever get offended seek out what is not true and if it is in you correct it. Shouldn't the lie, or pornography, obscenity or even hate offend us? NO, we should never be offended by anything. Maybe we find disgust in pornography, lies, hate, etc, but not offense because offense cuts us off from God. Offense will never allow for true forgiveness.

Matthew 6

14. For if ye forgive men their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you:

15. But if ye forgive not men their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses.

Offense also is part of judging. Offense is a sin and it is due to all of the lies of the world that we have offense.

Matthew 7

1. Judge not, that ye be not judged.

2. For with what judgment ye judge, ye shall be judged: and with what measure ye mete, it shall be measured to you again.

3. And why beholdest thou the mote that is in thy brother's eye, but considerest not the beam that is in thine own eye?

4. Or how wilt thou say to thy brother, Let me pull out the mote out of thine eye; and, behold, a beam is in thine own eye?

5. Thou hypocrite, first cast out the beam out of thine own eye; and then shalt thou see clearly to cast out the mote out of thy brother's eye.

Most understand that the church is the individual, and that is partly right, but not totally true. The church is those who have received a revelation from God (means hearing from God) about who Jesus is as His Son and the Christ.

Matthew 16

15. He saith unto them, But whom say ye that I am?

16. And Simon Peter answered and said, Thou art the Christ, the Son of the living God.

17. And Jesus answered and said unto him, Blessed art thou, Simon Barjona: for flesh and blood hath not revealed it unto thee, but my Father which is in heaven.

18. And I say also unto thee, That thou art Peter, and upon this rock I will build my church; and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it.

Where part of the problem comes in, is in verse 18, "That thou art Peter," or in the original language of the New Testament (Greek) "su ei Petros" translated it means literally "You are a piece of the Rock" and upon this bedrock I will build my church. You see if Jesus meant for "Petros" to be "Peter" instead of "a piece of the rock" that would mean that the church was built on Peter. Look at it again, "Thou are Peter, and upon this rock I will build my church." The word "rock" to which Jesus is referring is "petra" or the bedrock, on which He will build His church.

By translating petros as Peter instead of "a piece of the rock" they can say that the church then is built on Peter. Since the pope of the Catholic Church is supposedly wearing the shoes of the fisherman or walking in Peter's shoes, then the Pope is what the church is built on. The Catholic church had to have verse 18 say Peter for Petros instead of a piece of the rock in order to justify the pope and his authority from Jesus.

The truth is that there was a church before the Catholic Denomination and that church is not the same church. Paul wrote about it all through out the New Testament; one part is in Corinthians, and also Timothy. The Catholic Church did not start until another 300-400 years later.

One of the reasons the Catholic church did not allow its members to read the Bible was the fear that they would read Matthew 16:18 and come to realize the truth. So what did they do? They translated it from Greek to Latin and made Latin the language of the church. This way if anyone ever read it they would not uncover the lie the Catholic Church was perpetrating and making its base.

If I have any devout Catholics left at this point, let me point out this is not against you personally. I believe there are many who call themselves Catholic who are truly of the Lord and once they know the truth and get over the shock will accept the truth.

The problem of course started in the 4th century when Constantine made a law that the only way a person could have power or land was to profess Christ. He did this after meeting the Lord and from good intentions. But the path to Hell is paved with good intentions. For me, I wish it would have worked, but instead it backfired on him. Instead of getting a bunch of people to accept the Lord he opened the door for a bunch of unbelievers to gain power in the church.

The history of the Catholic Church proves my point, "The Dark Ages", "The Holy Crusades", "Inquisition", any of these alone when studied would prove there was a lack of God in the church. Law replaced God. The entire point of Jesus’ death and resurrection was to bring Grace not more law.

Then of course there is the discovery by Martin Luther in the late 15th century that proves the point more so. Up until Luther no one was allowed to read Romans and Hebrews. Then when Luther translated them and read them his first action was to write a letter to the pope. Remember Luther was a monk of the Catholic Church and in his letter he called the pope and all that the pope stood for "antichrist". Of course the pope excommunicated Luther. Where is the Lord in that? Jesus would have talked to Him not punished him.

Even worse are all of the off shoots of the Catholic Church (which is what every church today is based on one way or another). I know someone is saying, "But King James ordered a new Bible to be translated from the Greek and Hebrew." If that was done how is it that in the King James has "Peter" for "Petros" as well? That is easy; the translators were well versed in the Latin Vulgate and even if they did not use it, they still had the Vulgate translation in the back of their minds while they were working on the new version for King James. As so many since have done, instead of taking their time (because they were under a time limit) or at the very least pressured by the King to get it done, they cut corners and went with the common beliefs of what the original texts were saying. So when they got to verse 18 they saw Petros in caps and thought of the man, Peter, and translated it as Peter. Remember they were not there to prove the Latin Vulgate was wrong but to give a clearer, English translation of the Bible. So why should they (being under a time limit) stop to research words or even verses they already understood to check it out further?

I’ll give you a similar problem that has happened the last half of the twentieth Century. A well known man of God of the non-denominational side started a whole new belief that Satan was cast down in the beginning of time instead of mid-tribulation as Revelation 12 shows. He did this because of ONE WORD in Genesis 1:28. He read the word "replenish" in the King James Bible and he understood that word to mean "to replace what once was with something new". He did not have the aid of computers and would have had to research each word via a long process of using a concordance, a couple of Bibles, etc. To discover what a word meant in Greek or Hebrew took hours. So there seemed to be no reason to spend precious time on a single word that he already understood when there would be many other words that obviously would require his time to understand properly. So he started this new idea that since God told Adam and Eve to replenish the earth, the only explanation was that the earth had been emptied some how. The easiest explanation was that Satan must have been cast down some time after God made everything and it destroyed the "so called first creation" and all that was before Adam and Eve.

When I brought it to the attention of some of the icons of this group who believe this idea they told me never to repeat what I knew.

Genesis 1

28. And God blessed them, and God said unto them, Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth, and subdue it: and have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over every living thing that moveth upon the earth.

28.

|1288| And blessed

|0853| them

|0430| God,

|0559| and said

|0000| to them

|0430| God,

|6509| Be fruitful

|7235| and multiply,

|4390| and fill

|0853| -

|0776| the earth,

|3533| and it subdue.

|7287| And rule

|1710| over fish of

|3220| the ocean,

|5775| and over of birds

|8064| the heavens

|3605| and over all

|2416| animals

|7430| crawling

|5921| on

|0776| the earth.

Strong's Ref. # 4390

Romanized male'

Pronounced maw-lay'

or mala' (Esth.7v5) {maw-law'}; a primitive root, to fill or (intransitively) be full of, in a wide application (literally and figuratively):

KJV--accomplish, confirm, + consecrate, be at an end, be expired, be fenced, fill, fulfil, (be, become, X draw, give in, go) full(-ly, -ly set, tale), [over-]flow, fulness, furnish, gather (selves, together), presume, replenish, satisfy, set, space, take a [hand-]full, + have wholly.

Notice above that when you look up the verse in Hebrew and read the literal translation the word "replenish" could be used for the English translation. But herein lies the problem. Notice how many words could be used. It depends on the words before and after it to determine which should be used. In the Literal it is "fill" not "replenish" that is used. The better usage in today’s language is "fill". If this icon of fundamental Bible teaching had studied this out he would not have detoured so many off the truthful path to follow one with an idea that is misleading at best and at worse plants a lie into people based on the word.

Why did the translators of the King James use Replenish then?

To better understand this you need to understand the differences between the English language of the UK and the US.

In the UK a lift is an elevator. In the US it can mean a ride home ("Can you give me a lift?") or to pick up something.

In the UK Solicitor is an attorney. In the US it is someone who sells door to door.

In the UK Post means mail.

You get the point. Even today there are enough differences in the language that we can misunderstand each other between the US and the UK due to different meanings of words in the same language. Now add about 400 years of changes to the mix and they more than likely read "replenish" to have meant, "fill". In King James’ era the word "replenish" had a more pleasing sound to the ear and also a different connotation than it does now or in the 20th century.

You need to understand how this happens is that we have an enemy. He uses whom ever he can to divide us from each other and the truth.

Matthew 12

25. And Jesus knew their thoughts, and said unto them, Every kingdom divided against itself is brought to desolation; and every city or house divided against itself shall not stand:

Remember the Catholic Church did not want their members reading the Bible. Now read what God says about knowledge.

Hosea 4

6. My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge: because thou hast rejected knowledge, I will also reject thee, that thou shalt be no priest to me: seeing thou hast forgotten the law of thy God, I will also forget thy children.

(Revelation 1:6. And hath made us kings and priests unto God and his Father; to him be glory and dominion forever and ever. Amen.)

Look at what happened to the fist generation of the church, and then add almost 2000 years and imagine the problem today.

1 Corinthians 1

11. For it hath been declared unto me of you, my brethren, by them which are of the house of Chloe, that there are contentions among you.

12. Now this I say, that every one of you saith, I am of Paul; and I of Apollos; and I of Cephas; and I of Christ.

13. Is Christ divided? was Paul crucified for you? or were ye baptized in the name of Paul?

In verse 12 above replace one of the following, Paul, Apollos or Cephas with the name of your church. Can you start to see the problem? We have a real enemy and due to good intentions of one man in the 4th century our enemy was able to manipulate the church and lead it down the wrong path.

Here comes what some know and some will be shocked by:

Salvation comes by a revelation not by physical revelation but a spiritual revelation. When we know we are not whole, that we have a void in us, we accept the call by God to His Son or reject it.

Matthew 11

27. All things are delivered unto me of my Father: and no man knoweth the Son, but the Father; neither knoweth any man the Father, save the Son, and he to whomsoever the Son will reveal him.

To know the Father one has to have the Son reveal himself to them.

Matthew 7

23. And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity.

You can not abide (live) in what you do not know, meaning you have to be one with Him to be of Him.

John 15

4. Abide in me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, except it abide in the vine; no more can ye, except ye abide in me.

5. I am the vine, ye are the branches: He that abideth in me, and I in him, the same bringeth forth much fruit: for without me ye can do nothing.

6. If a man abide not in me, he is cast forth as a branch, and is withered; and men gather them, and cast them into the fire, and they are burned.

7. If ye abide in me, and my words abide in you, ye shall ask what ye will, and it shall be done unto you.

Strong's Ref. # 3306

Romanized meno

Pronounced men'-o

a primary verb; to stay (in a given place, state, relation or expectancy):

KJV--abide, continue, dwell, endure, be present, remain, stand, tarry (for), X thine own.

How can we dwell in Him, be of Him, if we do not know Him? How can we know Him if we do not talk to and listen to Him? We have to be able to hear from Him to truly know Him.

John 14

26. But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you.

How can we be taught all things if we are not listening to be taught?

We need to know Jesus to know the Father.

John 14

6. Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.

Matthew 7

13. Enter ye in at the strait gate: for wide is the gate, and broad is the way, that leadeth to destruction, and many there be which go in thereat:

14. Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it.

15. Beware of false prophets, which come to you in sheep's clothing, but inwardly they are ravening wolves.

16. Ye shall know them by their fruits. Do men gather grapes of thorns, or figs of thistles?

17. Even so every good tree bringeth forth good fruit; but a corrupt tree bringeth forth evil fruit.

18. A good tree cannot bring forth evil fruit, neither can a corrupt tree bring forth good fruit.

19. Every tree that bringeth not forth good fruit is hewn down, and cast into the fire.

20. Wherefore by their fruits ye shall know them.

21. Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven.

22. Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works?

23. And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity.

The fruit Jesus is speaking of is the fruit of the Spirit, not the fruit of one's works.

So here it is in a nutshell:

  1. Salvation: We are called to the Lord to accept or reject. This calling is many times mistaken for a call to the ministry. Some may feel it very strongly, and others may just barely notice it, but it is there for all of us. The only things stopping us are either the walls the world has built in us to keep us from hearing, or that we push it away, ignore it, and do not accept.
  2. Church: We have revealed to us from the Father who Jesus is as the Son and the Christ and from this we become a part of the church.
  3. Christ: We continue to listen and grow and become anointed with the Spirit of God or we do not and in not doing it we start to lose what we have and could one day fall away.

Romans 10

9. That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.

10. For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.

How can it be that we must hear from God to be saved; above it says profess with your mouth and believe in your heart, but it says nothing about hearing from God? The same way we know we are saved and no one can ever steal it from us, we can give it away, but no lie can ever take it.

Romans 8

16. The Spirit itself beareth witness with our spirit, that we are the children of God:

When the Spirit (God) tells me in my spirit that I am a child of God, I know I am saved and I have faith that God raised Jesus from the dead.

A lot of people think that they know they are part of the church because they were told that the church is the individual. To some extent that is correct, but not by just knowing this part of the truth, but by knowing all of the truth. That comes from hearing from God who Jesus is as His Son and the Christ.

What is sad is that many believe that because they were baptized in water they are saved but they are not. Some man or woman told them they were saved if they professed Jesus and they believe that is all there is to it.

Matthew 3

11. I indeed baptize you with water unto repentance: but he that cometh after me is mightier than I, whose shoes I am not worthy to bear: he shall baptize you with the Holy Ghost, and with fire:

So how do we hear and grow?

We are all one of the following four:

Mark 4

14. The sower soweth the word.

15. And these are they by the way side, where the word is sown; but when they have heard, Satan cometh immediately, and taketh away the word that was sown in their hearts.

16. And these are they likewise which are sown on stony ground; who, when they have heard the word, immediately receive it with gladness;

17. And have no root in themselves, and so endure but for a time: afterward, when affliction or persecution ariseth for the word's sake, immediately they are offended.

18. And these are they which are sown among thorns; such as hear the word,

19. And the cares of this world, and the deceitfulness of riches, and the lusts of other things entering in, choke the word, and it becometh unfruitful.

20. And these are they which are sown on good ground; such as hear the word, and receive it, and bring forth fruit, some thirtyfold, some sixty, and some an hundred.

In verse 20 in the Greek it is "percent" instead of "fold". Some do not grow at all; that is the first group, the second 30%, the third 60%, and the fourth 100%. The idea is that we need someone rebuking the devourer of our ground so we can be the 100%.

Malachi 3

11. And I will rebuke the devourer for your sakes, and he shall not destroy the fruits of your ground; neither shall your vine cast her fruit before the time in the field, saith the Lord of hosts.

What Malachi 3:8-12 refers to in the above is an action for protecting and promoting our physical and spiritual growth. How do I know where to tithe to or that where I am attending church is good ground to tithe? Easy - are you truly growing in the spirit? If not then it is not good ground into which to tithe.

Also the first three groups have a greater chance of falling away than the last group.

2 Thessalonians 2

3. Let no man deceive you by any means: for that day shall not come, except there come a falling away first, and that man of sin be revealed, the son of perdition;

Some teach the falling away is rapture, but it is not. It is those of the first three groups falling away due to one of the reasons listed in Mark 4.

2 Thessalonians 2

7. For the mystery of iniquity doth already work: only he who now letteth will let, until he be taken out of the way.

8. And then shall that Wicked be revealed, whom the Lord shall consume with the spirit of his mouth, and shall destroy with the brightness of his coming:

9. Even him, whose coming is after the working of Satan with all power and signs and lying wonders,

Falling away in verse 3 can not be rapture because in verse 7 it states that, that which letteth will let be taken out of the way. In modern language it means that which restrains will continue to restrict the antichrist until it is removed, allowing the antichrist to do what he is here to do, thereby revealing him. If there is a rapture then the power which is mentioned in verses 7-8 that restrains the antichrist would be removed. How do we know it is mankind that is restraining, not all of mankind, but those of truly of Christ?

1 Corinthians 1

24. But unto them which are called, both Jews and Greeks, Christ the power of God, and the wisdom of God.

The power of God to restrain is found in those of Christ.

By now those of you who are not even sure about your salvation or if you are of the church or Christ should be asking, "How do we become?" and "How do we know?"

To be saved, become part of the church, and anointed in Christ require the following:

  1. Desire to know God.
  2. Request of God to hear from Him.
  3. Dedicate a place and time to sit and listen be sure the place is quiet and distraction free.
  4. Then daily (do not miss a day) sit quietly listening for His voice for at least 30 minutes each and everyday until you hear from Him.
  5. If your body wants to fall asleep (which many do because the body is trained to go to sleep after a certain length of quiet time) you have to re-train your body to remain awake for the time you are spending trying to hear from God.
  6. When you hear ask one question (I John 4:1:3) Did Jesus Christ come in the flesh? If you hear "no" then tell Satan to go to Hell. But if you hear "yes" then you are hearing from God.
  7. Listen every day and let it grow from 30 - 45 minutes, from 45 minutes to an hour, so on.

If you are not saved He will ask you to accept His Son. At this point you should do so. Next you need to profess Jesus and then He will reveal to you who Jesus is as His Son and the Christ. Then you are a piece of the rock (Church).

1 John 4

1. Beloved, believe not every spirit, but try the spirits whether they are of God: because many false prophets are gone out into the world.

2. Hereby know ye the Spirit of God: Every spirit that confesseth that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is of God:

3. And every spirit that confesseth not that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is not of God: and this is that spirit of antichrist, whereof ye have heard that it should come; and even now already is it in the world.

Review

  1. How do we know we are saved? (Romans 8:16)
  2. How do we know we are hearing from God and not Satan? (I John 4:1-3 )
  3. How do I know where to tithe? By your growth in the Spirit (Malachi 3:8-12 & Mark 4:1-20)
  4. How do I know if a person is telling me the truth or a lie? By taking it to God and asking Him.
  5. Who should teach me? God, and God only should teach you all things (John 14:26)
  6. What are the basics to growth? Judge not (Matthew 7:1-5) forgive all (Matthew 6:14-15), have faith (Romans 10:17) and of course listen to God (John 14:26)
  7. How do I get faith? Faith comes by hearing (Romans 10:17)

False Teachings

  1. Bible is the end all when it is not, but it is the beginning to all. .
  2. Water Baptism is required for Salvation and is the one true baptism. (Matthew 3:11)
  3. Faith was meant for the first century only. (Ephesians 2:8)
  4. The Spirit ended after the first century. (John 4:23-24)
  5. It is ok to talk to God as long as you do not hear from God (John 14:26)
  6. God has other ways to get to Him other than Jesus (John 14:6)
  7. Prayer is corporate and should be done aloud in front of others (Matthew 6:5-6)
  8. The church is built on Peter (Matthew 16:15-18)
  9. Once saved always saved (2 Thessalonians 2:3)

It is truly sad that many promote the above false teachings and what is even sadder is many of them believe their teachings.

Why are there so many different churches and denominations? Basically because there are so many who do not want the truth. They want a religion that matches what they believe or feel no matter whether or not it is true.

Some will read this page and think I am a heretic or a liar because what I say does not match up with what they believe. Instead of being sure that what they believe is true or not they will get offended and tune this page out.

You see some are searching for a place they can have goose bumps during service. Some are searching for a place that is not so judgmental or is judgmental. Then there are those searching for a place that lines up with what they already believe. All call it the truth, but in reality they are not searching for the truth but a way to justify their own ideas and life style.

If you read Revelation 1-3 where Jesus is addressing the church, six are listed as being wrong and only one is right. Now compare that to how many continents there are on the earth. Out of the seven continents there are on the earth only six have people living on them one does not. It has visitors but no residents living there year in year out. As far as the spiritual side is concerned, six are physically based, in the law, in things, but not in the Spirit.

What you should go away from godsgifttoyou.com with is not to become another pew warmer in a physical building or virtually here at godsgifttoyou.com, but to become one with God in spite of godsgifttoyou.com or any other religion.

We ask for things that we do not understand complete ramifications of possessing. In turn God, being a loving Father, does not grant them until we are ready to handle them.

Matthew 20

20. Then came to him the mother of Zebedee's children with her sons, worshipping him, and desiring a certain thing of him.

21. And he said unto her, What wilt thou? She saith unto him, Grant that these my two sons may sit, the one on thy right hand, and the other on the left, in thy kingdom.

22. But Jesus answered and said, Ye know not what ye ask. Are ye able to drink of the cup that I shall drink of, and to be baptized with the baptism that I am baptized with? They say unto him, We are able.

23. And he saith unto them, Ye shall drink indeed of my cup, and be baptized with the baptism that I am baptized with: but to sit on my right hand, and on my left, is not mine to give, but it shall be given to them for whom it is prepared of my Father.

Think of a 12-year-old who does not even know how to drive asking for a car. As a loving parent you will not give them a car until they know how to drive, handle, and maintain it.

Misunderstood Verses

Job 1

8. And the Lord said unto Satan, Hast thou considered my servant Job, that there is none like him in the earth, a perfect and an upright man, one that feareth God, and escheweth evil?

Many believe the above verse to mean that God pointed Job out to Satan to test Job all because of the word "consider". If you read the literal meaning it says that God was asking Satan what he had in heart to against Job. God was not pointing Job out to be tested, but confronting Satan about Job and what Satan was considering to do with Job.
