Before you read this study understand that we do not teach, we share and then ask all who read the following take it to God and verify it with Him. We believe a lot of the world is misled by the church of the world and religion vs the one true church. And to know the truth can only come from knowing, not just knowing of God, John 14:26, I John 2:27, Rev 3:19-22.
Many are called but few are chosen because many are misled by false teachers Matthew 7:13-15 so we help all who wants to know the truth how to find and know the truth of and by God and not of and by man.

The Good Wine

Pastor J. R. Wilhite, author   Close Window

I would like to talk about a familiar verse in the New Testament that concerns the first miracle Jesus performed…turning water into wine You can find it in the book of John.

John 2:
1 And the third day there was a marriage in Cana of Galilee; and the mother of Jesus was there:
2 And both Jesus was called, and his disciples, to the marriage.
3 And when they wanted wine, the mother of Jesus saith unto him, They have no wine.
4 Jesus saith unto her, Woman, what have I to do with thee? mine hour is not yet come.
5 His mother saith unto the servants, Whatsoever he saith unto you, do it.
6 And there were set there six waterpots of stone, after the manner of the purifying of the Jews, containing two or three firkins apiece.
7 Jesus saith unto them, Fill the waterpots with water. And they filled them up to the brim.
8 And he saith unto them, Draw out now, and bear unto the governor of the feast. And they bare it.
9 When the ruler of the feast had tasted the water that was made wine, and knew not whence it was: (but the servants which drew the water knew;) the governor of the feast called the bridegroom,
10 And saith unto him, Every man at the beginning doth set forth good wine; and when men have well drunk, then that which is worse: but thou hast kept the good wine until now.
11 This beginning of miracles did Jesus in Cana of Galilee, and manifested forth his glory; and his disciples believed on him.

The main passage I would like to highlite is in verses nine and ten where the governor of the feast pointed out that the wine produced later was better than the wine distributed first. This was highly irregular since the normal way to handle the situation was to give out the good stuff first, and when the people had gotten a little tipsy they would not care what was served to them later.

This was not just Jesus' first miracle; He was also making a point about His Two Comings. He was there and everything was going to be great…people were to be healed, blind eyes and deaf ears opened, the lame would walk, and even the dead would rise and live again! But His Second Coming will be even MORE Awesome!

Compare this to that passage in Joel 2 starting at verse 21

21 Fear not, O land; be glad and rejoice: for the LORD will do great things.
22 Be not afraid, ye beasts of the field: for the pastures of the wilderness do spring, for the tree beareth her fruit, the fig tree and the vine do yield their strength.
23 Be glad then, ye children of Zion, and rejoice in the LORD your God: for he hath given you the former rain moderately, and he will cause to come down for you the rain, the former rain, and the latter rain in the first month.
24 And the floors shall be full of wheat, and the vats shall overflow with wine and oil.
25 And I will restore to you the years that the locust hath eaten, the cankerworm, and the caterpillar, and the palmerworm, my great army which I sent among you.
26 And ye shall eat in plenty, and be satisfied, and praise the name of the LORD your God, that hath dealt wondrously with you: and my people shall never be ashamed.
27 And ye shall know that I am in the midst of Israel, and that I am the LORD your God, and none else: and my people shall never be ashamed. 28 And it shall come to pass afterward, that I will pour out my spirit upon all flesh; and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, your old men shall dream dreams, your young men shall see visions:
29 And also upon the servants and upon the handmaids in those days will I pour out my spirit.

He says the former rain would be "moderate" but the latter rain would bring the real blessings! While Jesus walked the Earth fantastic things happened, but only where He was. That is because the Holy Spirit had not yet been given to us. But at the time of the latter rain…His Second Coming …the Holy Spirit is here to enable the Body of Christ to do fantastic things all over the world simultaneously! It is phenomenal when you think about the potential for great things the Holy Spirit can bring about with all the believers there are today. We all need to pray for the Holy Spirit to use each and every one of us, and then give ourselves up to the Holy Spirit so His will can be accomplished in the world.

When Jesus came the first time it was great and necessary. It was His passion to die for us, otherwise there was absolutely no hope for anyone. He came and provided the means for our salvation. It seems like that should be about as good as it gets, but remember…His Second Coming is also important, and even more spectacular! When He arose from the dead there was an earthquake that released the dead and they walked the streets proclaiming His Glory. This time we are all going to join the dead in Christ in the sky transformed in the twinkling of an eye into our new, Glorified Bodies! Hallelujah! I can hardly wait! How about you? He always saves the best for last. Are you ready for the Good Wine? Make sure you are…it's going to be a blast!
