Do You Seem Rejected by Others?

Jerry Wilhite, author

What I am about to share is personal and took a while to share due to the embarrassment it seemed to cause. At least, at one time, it seemed so, but no longer.

I am no longer a puppet of Satan and the lie in this area .

When I was young in the ministry it seemed I knew so much that I felt as if I had a special message for the leaders and the followers in Christ. I would try to contact some who were the best known leaders with my message. I was so sure that if they read it, they would know I had something for them, but the more I tried the more it seemed they were ignoring me or just rejecting me and what I had to say. At one point I even started to think they were wrong in acting this way. By treating me this way God would make them pay, not bad, but let them know they did one of their own wrong by not at least listening. When this did not happen I even started to doubt God. I was getting mad, offended, and the more I tried the more offended I would become.

As I got more and more mad at these so called leaders then I would hear of people like Jim Jones and what happened to his followers over seas. Well, I started to be justified in my anger and offense at those I tried to contact. I mean how hard would it have been for them to take 5 minutes and read the few pages I sent. If they did I knew it would have set off bells in them and they would realize the revelation I was sharing.

I am 50 and at the time (1976) I was 24, and I only had known Jesus 3 years. I was raised a Methodist and went to Sunday School, church service, sang in the Christmas shows, etc. And then in the Air Force in New Mexico I attended an evangelical service of an independent Baptist church. Since I was baptized at about 2 and born into and raised in the Methodist church, I knew I was ok, I was a Methodist, but at this service I felt a call on me. I realized how empty I really was and felt that Jesus was calling me. I accepted Jesus as Lord and was baptized (full body) in a large tub and felt as if something missing in me was beginning to be filled with what was missing.

For the next few years I studied the word; I even studied under Dr Walton A Gardner. He was a well known professor at SMU. By studying with him and the courses I had taken I was on the verge of being ordained when I left. I left because of the politics involved in the church.

After this for so long I found knowledge that I knew was not well known. I knew this because they had not been taught at any Methodist or even Baptist church.

I even went a step further and learned enough Greek and Hebrew at least to read and understand. Then I read the Bible based in Greek and Hebrew. Here is one of the areas of scripture I found that was misunderstood by all denominations, and non-denominations.

Job 1

8. And the Lord said unto Satan, Hast thou considered my servant Job, that there is none like him in the earth, a perfect and an upright man, one that feareth God, and escheweth evil?

I understood that most if not all churches used this verse to teach that we are tested by God. They read verse 8 as God pointing Job out to Satan to test him.

Before I show you the verse in the Literal, understand the verse as it is above is not wrong, or at least not based on the time and place it was translated. You see now between us in the US and those in the UK there are differences in the English language. Here are a few words and the difference in their meaning in both.

"Solicitor" in the US means a door to door salesman, in UK it means "attorney".

"Lift" in the US means can I give you a ride, in the UK it means "elevator".

"Post" in the US has many different meanings, but rarely the same as UK- "mail".

I could list many more, and as you can see a simple sentence using these words could have two totally different meanings between the US and the UK.

I gave a solicitor that had come by a lift, after he had posted his items on a bulletin board.

Ok now the UK would not understand why an attorney came by and then you gave them your elevator to get their mail from a bulletin board.

I think you get the idea. Now that is the present, but the King James Bible was translated in 1612 AD. With the difference in the English language in the US and UK today and then try to take in what difference there would be between English in England today vs. over 390 years ago. You see the King James Version of the Bible is not wrong, it just, in some areas, requires a deeper understanding of our language to the meaning of the verse.

Here is how today Job 1:8 would appear or how it appears in the Literal Version of the Bible.

Job

8.

|0559| And said

|3068| Yahweh

|0000| to

|7854| Satan,

|7760| Have you set

|3824| your heart

|5650| on My servant

|0347| Job?

|3588| For

|0369| not is {any}

|0000| like him

|0776| in the earth,

|0376| a man

|8535| perfect

|3477| and upright,

|3373| revering

|0430| God

|5186| and turning away

|7451| from evil.

God was not pointing Job out to Satan to test at all, but asking Satan what he had in heart against Job. So with this and other understandings of the word I again tried to share with others. Again I was rejected, ignored and treated as an outsider. Boy was the anger growing, and I was as offended as one could get. I started thinking that they were not men/women of God, they were not the leaders I thought.

Now, before I continue, have you ever run into something like this, felt like this or even now feeling this way? If so, at this point take a break and relax. Do all you can to clear your mind and read what is left with an open mind. Understand that there are two and only two ways the rest of this could go.

  1. Open minded, seeking a blessing, the answer, and the truth, even if it means you may have to reevaluate how you have done things and believed up until now.
  2. Be offended and angry and get nothing but more gray hairs out of the rest.

Understand I am not here to judge, condemn, or to do anything but to help show where I made a mistake and that you may have as I did, fallen for the same lie. If so, then you can really get a blessing out of this.

First thing I learned was God would never send me to anyone who would not be open and ready to receive without telling me otherwise. So if that was the case, I either did not listen enough and hear any special instructions that were needed, or I was not being led to them by God.

Here is where it can get hard to swallow if you are not open minded. Satan is real; he is our enemy and he has been around for thousands of years vs. our few decades we have. And we think we can overcome him without help?

God never would not have told John to list a way to test who we were hearing from if it were not possible that we could be deceived.

1 John 4

1. Beloved, believe not every spirit, but try the spirits whether they are of God: because many false prophets are gone out into the world.

2. Hereby know ye the Spirit of God: Every spirit that confesseth that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is of God:

3. And every spirit that confesseth not that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is not of God: and this is that spirit of antichrist, whereof ye have heard that it should come; and even now already is it in the world.

What else I learned was that as many as we are in the body of Christ we are all very different as well. Some of us are called to preach, teach, to be missionaries, evangelists, etc. Then we all have our own area of importance. For some of us our importance or number one area is with orphans, senior citizens, lost, knowledge, healing, and I could go on and on. The point here is if you go to someone who's ministry is for nothing but salvation, anything else would not appear as big of a revelation as it might to us and the person(s) whom it regards.

So, first and foremost, we have to listen and be sure we are hearing it all from God, and no one else. Then we have to be sure the message is going to the right people. Then we need to understand the amount of importance we place on it may not be as much as what someone else would. So we should never expect any form of response to the message out of others .

As I have matured I have come to understand what I thought was earth shMattering 20 years ago, today, merely seems to be important enough to repeat.

In the past when I told people about a revelation I got, like in the early 90's about Christ at first they did not seem as surprised by it as I was. But in time, 3, 6 months, or longer and they did seem to snap to it. I have come to realize one revelation may seem to take a long time, and then it does not. While another I thought everyone would get fast and it took years.

We have to understand God wrote the Bible through man in a way that it could only be understood via the Holy Spirit and then it could take a while to sink in. If God had not done this Satan would really have a big hand over us, and he does not just because he does not understand the word of God.

The only true way to be blessed and understand is to do the following:

  1. Learn how to hear from God.
  2. Do not listen to God as you do others, listen well and be sure to write a lot of notes.
  3. Go over what He tells you in His word, over, and over, and over again.
  4. Ask a lot of questions.
  5. Be patient.
  6. Be prepared to spend a lot of time in one line while pages in other areas may fly by.
  7. Do not allow anything to offend you. If it does, pick it apart and learn what caused the offense and change whatever is needed for this to not happen again.
  8. Do not judge how others respond or act, but do forgive.

If you are diligent to the above 8 ways to grow, you will, and be more blessed than some of those who wrote the New Testament.

Understand most, more likely all, are not ignoring you or rejecting you. They either already knew what you sent, they were not as far long as you and did not see the revelation, or they were the wrong people to approach.

I am still learning. Satan can no longer slow me down or offend me by such as this I have shared. He has other areas I am now learning to overcome. Most of all I do not spend the time in offense or anger. I once did and in that God, I, we all are victorious.
