Donations

As the senior pastor of godsgifttoyou.com I had to decide on our policy for giving. You need to understand as we grow those in need grow as well, but at a much faster and higher rate. With more requests a day for donations than we could give in a month, I went to the Lord and asked for His direction.

  1. I could give $2.00 to each person and organization that asked for a donation.
  2. I could give $10 to the first 100 that asked (that of course is based on us having that much).
  3. I could pre-set how much we give a month and then any extra could go to anyone who asks after we have met our monthly comitments.
  4. I could just choose a set amount of orphanages, evangelists, missionaries, pastors, etc. and give a set amount to each.

Actually there are all kinds of combinations of giving I could come up with.

After listening to the Lord's counsel on what to do and how to do it, I came up with a plan. I know this will not make everyone happy, but I know there is no way I could make everyone happy.

So I have decided to give to 5 different ministries:

  1. Orphanage in India (Raj).
  2. Pastor in Romania (Tim).
  3. Evangelist in Pakistan.
  4. Evangelist in India.
  5. Pastor Zed a pastor of H.O.M.E. in Addis Ababa

The amounts will be based on need and direction via to Holy Spirit.

Any extra will go to purchasing programs needed for godsgifttoyou.com. Such as music, audio, chat room, etc. Some of these can be written by our own programer Tim.

I understand now, better than ever, what Jesus meant when He said, "You will have the poor with you always." He said this to Judas after Judas had made a coment on how many of the poor could have been helped by the amount they could have gotten for the anointing oil that was put on Jesus.

We will always have the poor, and as sad as it is, it is a problem that we can all help with. I often ask others a question when talking about the poor.

Which is better to give someone a fish or teach them how to fish?

Yes, in the meantime we do all we can to help the poor until they can help themselves.

So instead of giving them all of what they need (which we may not have that much anyway), give them enough to at least stay some what afloat. While doing so teach them how to fish for themselves. No, I do not mean to teach them a job, even though that can be part of the first part of the solution. I mean teach them how to live by faith, grow by faith, and to be blessed by faith.

I seriously doubt there is any ministry out there that could take care of all of those who visit their site and ask for help - at least not any site with 100 or more visitors a day.

The biggest part of mankind's problem is that mankind waits until the problem has them in a corner before they ask a ministry for help. It is like being the last ditch effort, nothing else has worked so let's go to God and ask. If you think about it, it is not fair to God or the children of God to wait that long and expect a solution.

Start today, ask for help in learning about God. Get to know God so if the problem comes you can not just survive the problem, but excel in overcoming it as well.
