Growth, Blessings and Life

Jerry Wilhite, author

If you are not saved or not sure about your salvation or what this is all about, you are on the right page.

Understand the idea of God, good, evil, Satan and demons is something that most people have a hard time believing. It seems for some it is easier believing in aliens and alien abduction more than God. Oh yes people say they believe in God, but if it came down to it, most only think they believe in God. Based on what is happening in the world today you have to admit if people believed in God as much as they say they do, then some of the problems would not be as pronounced as they are.

So why is it so hard to believe in God? Anything you can not see, hear, feel or smell is harder to believe in, and in the beginning Satan knew that as well. Most think that after Satan got Adam to eat of the forbidden fruit he did not do much if anything anymore.

Genesis 6

1. And it came to pass, when men began to multiply on the face of the earth, and daughters were born unto them,

2. That the sons of God saw the daughters of men that they were fair; and they took them wives of all which they chose.

In verse 2 the expression "sons of God" is only used one other time in the Bible.

Job 1

  1. Now there was a day when the sons of God came to present themselves before the Lord, and Satan came also among them.

The reference in both verses is the same in the Hebrew and are in reference to angels. In Genesis it is fallen angels.

Satan knew he had to cut man off totally from God to win. With the original sin that was only spiritual; it was not a physical separation in the flesh.

Genesis 4

12. When thou tillest the ground, it shall not henceforth yield unto thee her strength; a fugitive and a vagabond shalt thou be in the earth.

13. And Cain said unto the Lord, My punishment is greater than I can bear.

  1. Behold, thou hast driven me out this day from the face of the earth; and from thy face shall I be hid; and I shall be a fugitive and a vagabond in the earth; and it shall come to pass, that every one that findeth me shall slay me.

Notice Cain was driven from the presence of God, even after murdering his brother he still was able to live in the presence of God.

Genesis 5

  1. And Enoch walked with God: and he was not; for God took him.

Also notice Enoch even walked physically with God before was no more.

The point is that Satan knew that cutting man off from God spiritually did hurt the relationship, but if man did not see or hear God the chances were greater that later generations of man would not believe.

So with the sons of God (the fallen angels) mating with the daughters of man sin entered the flesh as well. Since sin can not survive in the presence of God, for anyone to see God it would mean death. As such Satan had to also help us not believe in God, so it was only complete by making sure they did not believe in him either.

It is by faith we are saved, faith is believing without doubt, but it also is believing in something that is not seen.

Hebrews 11

  1. Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.

Reasons to believe in God are as follows:

All is only by faith, but a lot of people try faith once and may even give it a week, two or three and then give up and no longer believe in faith. Think about it, to get the best job and the best pay you need a college degree which means 16 years of school. Nothing in life that is worth anything comes for free or without at least doing something other than our salvation. Our salvation was paid for by Jesus. When He was put on the cross He paid the price we could not and because of what He did we are saved. From that point on it is up to us, Jesus, God did it all 2000 years ago and left it for us to use.

So, if you want to live life with all of its up's and down's as well as living pay check to pay check and so on and just be saved then fine. You have to do nothing more than believe and profess Jesus as stated in Romans 10:9-10.

But if you want more it takes time, and just time, no real cost. At godsgifttoyou.com we have most of what you need to learn how to grow into all of the blessings God has for you.

So if you are not saved or do not know Jesus, just do what Romans 10:9-10 says below and email me to profess Jesus as your Lord.

Romans 10:9-10

9. That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.

  1. For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.

Now, no matter if you are just saved or have been saved for 100 years, you need to understand that you need to take every thought captive. Inspect it and if it does not appear to be that of God cast it down, get rid of it, and you are well on your road to all of the blessings.

2 Corinthians 10

5. Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ;

Then spend as much time daily listening for God's voice and in time you will hear it. Spend at least 10 minutes a day being quiet listening for and to His voice. When you start hearing verify that who you are hearing is God.

1 John 4

1. Beloved, believe not every spirit, but try the spirits whether they are of God: because many false prophets are gone out into the world.

2. Hereby know ye the Spirit of God: Every spirit that confesseth that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is of God:

3. And every spirit that confesseth not that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is not of God: and this is that spirit of antichrist, whereof ye have heard that it should come; and even now already is it in the world.

Now that you are on your way, here are a few verses you can look up on your own to read and grow by.

Luke 4:18

John 14:26

I John 2:20-27

Mark 11:22-27

Malachi 3:10-12

Matthew 7:1-5

With these few verses and reading the studies listed at godsgifttoyou.com and you should, as Paul did, get a very close relationship with God. It took Paul 8 years, but due to all that is available now in the Word of God that was not there for Paul (he wrote a substantial percentage of what is now available) you could do it in a tenth of the time it took Paul.
