Before you read this study understand that we do not teach, we share and then ask all who read the following take it to God and verify it with Him. We believe a lot of the world is misled by the church of the world and religion vs the one true church. And to know the truth can only come from knowing, not just knowing of God, John 14:26, I John 2:27, Rev 3:19-22.
Many are called but few are chosen because many are misled by false teachers Matthew 7:13-15 so we help all who wants to know the truth how to find and know the truth of and by God and not of and by man.

Truth in Thought

Pastor J. R. Wilhite, author   Close Window

This is part of series of studies Called "I am blessed with of God". I never write anything before I verify it in the word and by God via the Spirit of God.

Before going on, go to godsgifttoyou.com and click on "Life Starts Here" and read it. If you have read it in the past, it might be a good idea to review it.

I highly recomend that no one ever accept anything from anyone without first seeking God on it via His word. Not just by His written word, but By Him as well. If He tells you the person is wrong and to leave then do not stay and try to debate after God said to leave.

Please don't just walk, but run away from them. You can pray for them and God will send someone to help them. It may be you, but then again it may not, and if you're not the one God wants to set the person straight, you can mess it up worse by trying to help. I DO NOT TELL ANYONE NOT TO BE A PART OF A CHURCH AND EVANGELIZE OR WITNESS TO OTHERS. I just say seek God first and make sure you are obedient to Him, not yourself.

I warn you this study can be a blessing or a curse. The curse would be brought on by those who are still too much in the flesh and not enough yet in the spirit, and as such could and might get into offense over what is said.

What thoughts do you have and what words come out of your mouth?

Did you know you are judged only by the words of your mouth after you are saved?

Even Jesus did not speak His own words; He took captive all the thoughts and only allowed those of God to be spoken.

John 14

10. Believest thou not that I am in the Father, and the Father in me? The words that I speak unto you I speak not of myself: but the Father that dwelleth in me, he doeth the works.

This is a large part of what this study is about, to take captive all thoughts and only keep those of God and God only.

Now the blessing is this study can release you in more areas than you ever even realized existed. It can and will take a person who is open-minded, wanting to grow, and will not, no matter what, allow offense or strife in their life, to a level of growth they never even knew existed.

I can promise to all before they start the study rebuke Satan, offense, strife, etc, and plan to take every thought in their mind into captivity to the word of God. Only keep those that are true to God, and God alone. They will be shocked at what a blessing they have been missing.

What I have found from following this myself is that the more I do as I state the more blessed I truly become in all areas of my life. I will share some later. I know I am repeating myself, but it is too important to say only once or twice. This study can be one of the biggest blessings of your life if you accept it in the love of God, not the unforgiving and judging ways of the world.

So start right now by praying, rebuking, and agreeing that you will come out of this study with all the blessings herein.

To really grow in God's kingdom and to do His will you must know His will and His kingdom. To know His will, you must know Him. To know God means you must at the very least be listening to Him.

Understand that the word of God was written in such a way as to confuse the enemy. If you do not believe you have an enemy, and that enemy is Satan, then you are lost and confused.

God arranged it that those who are of His Spirit would UNDERSTAND His word, but those not of His Spirit would not understand and at best only interpret His word. This also explains why there are so many different denominations.

Imagine two people reading the same book and both get different meanings out of it. To see which is right and which is wrong they contact the author and ask for his help, but in doing so they find out they are both wrong and totally missed the entire point of the book. That is what has been and is still happening here on earth in regards to God's word.

Now to start you must know what God is, and what He is not.

John 4

21. Jesus saith unto her, Woman, believe me, the hour cometh, when ye shall neither in this mountain, nor yet at Jerusalem, worship the Father.

22. Ye worship ye know not what: we know what we worship: for salvation is of the Jews.

23. But the hour cometh, and now is, when the true worshippers shall worship the Father in spirit and in truth: for the Father seeketh such to worship him.

God is a Spirit: and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth.

God is a spirit and the only way to worship Him is in the spirit. Those who do not, are not truly worshiping Him at all, but worship the world and its ways.

I know that may seem harsh, but it is true and time is too short to dance around with the truth. Those who really want a relationship with God and want to grow in Him will not just accept this as truth but will start seeking change to be of the Spirit.

You would not believe how many pastors have told me I am too much into the spirit, that it ended in the 1st century church, or how many do not believe in faith. It is so sad and they (PASTORS) may not even be saved. Why would I say such an awful thing? Ignoring a truth will not help anyone get into the kingdom or to be saved. If they do not believe in the spirit, how can they believe in God, which is a spirit? How can they be saved if they believe faith is dead, when our salvation is based on faith?

One of the biggest areas of the truth and the lie that helps Satan and hurts us is that we believe half-truths and even preach them.

Jesus told us He was sending the Holy Spirit:

John 14

26. But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you.

Jesus even told us via the word that now was the baptizing of the Spirit of God, from then on.

Acts 1

5. For John truly baptized with water; but ye shall be baptized with the Holy Ghost not many days hence.

1 John 2

27. But the anointing which ye have received of him abideth in you, and ye need not that any man teach you: but as the same anointing teacheth you of all things, and is truth, and is no lie, and even as it hath taught you, ye shall abide in him.

I imagine some of you right now are thinking if this is true, why do we need pastors and teachers?

After a certain point the purpose for a pastor is completed, but there are purposes which will always be, and the teacher can get to a point they are no longer needed as they were before.

Remember before Jesus there was a man or woman of God. I mean one here and one there only, but after Jesus we all became that man/woman of God.

A Pastor and teacher are to help us get to a point where we are learning directly from God. If you are working a full time job you need someone to help you due to your lack of time.

There is a point we should all obtain where our faith is working for us producing all we need in life so we can have the time to grow and help others as God designed it to be.

So by not following this none of us are pleasing to God.

Proof of what I just said:

1 Peter 5

7. Casting all your care upon him; for he careth for you.

Wouldn't you say it takes faith to give God all of your problems and then walk away and forget about them?

Hebrews 11

But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him.

Well if it takes faith to cast all your cares upon God, and the only way to please God is by faith, then the only way to really please God is give Him your problems, cares, concerns, debts, and health issues.

When Satan can convince people that it is foolish to believe in the devil, Satan or demons he has won them over because if they believe in Satan, devil and demons they also believe in God. So one of the biggest ways Satan uses to confuse is to convince us all there is no devil or God. Of course if that does not work he then says "Yes there is a God, and Jesus does save, and you need to be saved, but not today, you have time, live life first and then get saved."

Some lies we are told because they sound good. What lies?

Sticks and stones may break my bones, but words will never hurt me. That is one I used to say and believe, until words started to hurt more than any sticks or stones. You heal from sticks and stones but words can hurt for a lifetime.

Even Jesus told us what He was anointed with and what He came to do, take your time and read this next page slowly so you get every scripture and it's meaning deep into you.

Luke 4

The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he hath anointed me to preach the gospel to the poor; he hath sent me to heal the brokenhearted, to preach deliverance to the captives, and recovering of sight to the blind, to set at liberty them that are bruised,

19. To preach the acceptable year of the Lord.

The point I want you to get is:

God is a Spirit and the only way to worship Him is by Spirit not the flesh.

In Jesus we are saved, in the church we receive revelations, in Christ we are then of the power and wisdom of God. This is where real growth starts.

Real growth can only start when we have taken every thought into captivity and kept only those of God and cast the rest down.

1 Corinthians 1

24. But unto them which are called, both Jews and Greeks, Christ the power of God, and the wisdom of God.

So the problem is controlling our thoughts and words of our mouth.

2 Corinthians 10

5. Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ;

Strong's Ref. # 3053

Romanized logismos

Pronounced log-is-mos'

from GSN3049; computation, i.e. (figuratively) reasoning (conscience, conceit):

KJV--imagination, thought.

Now to get an understanding of how some of what we are talking about is to be done.

Look back in the Old Testament and see that the Jews were waiting for the anointing.

Isaiah 10

27. And it shall come to pass in that day, that his burden shall be taken away from off thy shoulder, and his yoke from off thy neck, and the yoke shall be destroyed because of the anointing.

Before going on, you need to understand the fullness of the meaning of what Christ is. For too long people considered it to be Jesus' last name or title. When in truth it was the Spirit of God, in, on and through mankind or at least that part of mankind that would ask for and receive it. Take a dry sponge and imerse it in a bowl of water and what happens? The sponge is then soaked, in, on and through itself with water. When we ask to be of the body of Christ we are then soaked in the Spirit of God. Yes, you have the Spirit of God in your salvation, but that is all until you are of Christ.

So by the anointing we shall have our load (burden) taken off our shoulder. Then the yoke is destroyed; the yoke is anything that has us harnessed to the world system, like debt, sickness, etc. It is now totally destroyed, and what ever was removed does not come back because once it is destroyed it does not exist. That does not mean we can not create new debt. To have the burden removed for good and not to create new debt we need to stay in Christ and away from the world. Unfortunately, it can come back if we reject Christ. Many, after they are blessed of God to be debt free, turn around in a short time right back to where they started. This is due to ignorance or not true belief in God and His way.

Strong's Ref. # 5547

Romanized Christos

Pronounced khris-tos'

from GSN5548; anointed, i.e. the Messiah, an epithet of Jesus:

KJV--Christ.

Once you learn to take every single thought into captivity and cast down all that are not of God the following scriptures will not just be real, but on a daily basis.

Mark 11

22. And Jesus answering saith unto them, Have faith in God.

23. For verily I say unto you, That whosoever shall say unto this mountain, Be thou removed, and be thou cast into the sea; and shall not doubt in his heart, but shall believe that those things which he saith shall come to pass; he shall have whatsoever he saith.

24. Therefore I say unto you, What things soever ye desire, when ye pray, believe that ye receive them, and ye shall have them.

25. And when ye stand praying, forgive, if ye have ought against any: that your Father also which is in heaven may forgive you your trespasses.

26. But if ye do not forgive, neither will your Father which is in heaven forgive your trespasses.

Remember the power and wisdom of God is in those of Christ, not the church, and not those just saved.

To take every thought into captivity at first seems impossible, and to some degree it is true if you are of the world. What I mean by of the world is if you have to work in the world and can not have all of your needs and wants supplied without working.

But if you can take every thought into captivity then you will be blessed.

So how do I do this not being free 24 hours a day?

Even for those who have to work can also get to the point of controlling all thoughts, it just takes longer and a lot of patience. First and foremost you need to be of Christ, then you need the fruit of the Spirit in your life in ways you never have had them before, faithfulness, self-control and patience the most.

When you start getting your thoughts lined up with God you can then start counting on the blessings needed to be full time of God and zero time of the world.

Yes, zero time of the world, but what about witnessing, and evangelizing the world?

First of all no one should do either until they are hearing directly from God. Hearing where to water and where not to, and what to water with.

I have seen people with good intentions go forth and mess up someone that someone else was working with.

We do not know who needs what and why, but God does.

I had someone one Sunday come up to me and start telling me I needed Jesus and that I should repent of the world. They told me that I was very deep into the world. When they gave me a chance to talk I asked them why they thought that? They said because it is Sunday morning and discussed how I was dressed and how I was just sitting around drinking coffee. I asked them if a Pastor gets a day off and it is Sunday how should they dress? They then asked are you a pastor? I said yes, that I was off and doing what brings me closer to God than anything. They apologized, and I let them go on a bit so they could learn that you can never judge and especially by appearance. They thanked me and are better prepared for the world because of our visit.

All I can say is that the Apostles spent 3.5 years with Jesus in the flesh and then some as much as 60 years in the Spirit and still made mistakes. Paul spent 8 years after meeting Jesus before going out, and he did not go to a school of man, but to the Lord and had his training via the Spirit of God.

Remember listen from God before you go out into the world to witness.

The hardest thing about controlling your thoughts is the time that it takes to accomplish this and then making them captive (battle the flesh over the spirit). Most thoughts are of the flesh, this means learning how to control the flesh and then being obedient to the spirit.

For the first time in 36 years of smoking I know I am on the verge of being delivered of tobacco. WHY? Because I am learning that all addictions are of the flesh and never of the spirit. The more we are of the spirit the less we are of the flesh then the more we are delivered of addictions, health problems, and relationship problems, debt and even lack.

The flesh is a liar and it is of the world system and the sooner you find this out the better.

You see up until a certain point sin was only spiritual, then it became of the flesh.

If you read Genesis 4-6 you see that even Cain, after murdering his brother, could be in the presence of God, and Enoch even walked daily with God. Adam and Eve were in the garden with God when God confronted them of their sin.

So when did flesh become a problem?

In Genesis 6 we see the (Fallen Angels) sons of God (the only other time sons of God are used like this is in Job 1 about the angels) and the daughters of man got together and they had children and at this point the sin entered the flesh. Mating an angel and mankind is like mating a cat and a dog. I always wondered why Moses could not be in the presence of God and I asked God and that is when God explained this all to me. In Genesis 6 we see that God found Noah to be perfect. We know it was not in the spirit, so the only other thing it could be is in the flesh.

Noah was born before the fallen angels and mankind got together, but Noah's wife was born after the time of the fallen angels and mankind. So Noah's 3 sons were half-and-half. Due to this sin was in the flesh. Not only did Satan fix it where we could no longer be in the presence of God, but Satan arranged it where the battle would be more his victories than God's. Think about it, the spiritual connection was gone; there was a void where once was the Spirit, and now even the flesh cried out for things of the world.

If you look, after these two things started was when man fell into perversions to the point God wanted to start over.

Afterwards we had Sodom, Gomorrah, etc. all were destroyed due to perversions of the flesh.

When we control our thoughts we can then control the flesh, but not until. Once we are in control, then we will see the blessings and understand why we did not see them or even have them before.

I am now controlling about 70% of my thoughts, and just a few short months ago I thought all I had to do was control only the most wicked of thoughts (about 20% at most). But I was not seeing the harvest I had sown. I could not see the blessings I knew I had. I still had to ask way too much for forgiveness of actions when someone got me mad. Now they are way fewer actions that require asking for forgiveness and I see that so much of my surroundings were in control of my thoughts - Television, movies, music, life itself and more.

The next 31 verses will help you understand that there are 4 different groups out there, and make sure you are of the right one, of the good ground. To a large degree the first is the lost, the 2nd is those just saved, the 3rd is those saved and of the church, and the 4th are those who are saved, of the church and of the body of Christ and growing.

Mark 4

3. HeMarken; Behold, there went out a sower to sow:

4. And it came to pass, as he sowed, some fell by the way side, and the fowls of the air came and devoured it up.

5. And some fell on stony ground, where it had not much earth; and imediately it sprang up, because it had no depth of earth:

6. But when the sun was up, it was scorched; and because it had no root, it withered away.

7. And some fell among thorns, and the thorns grew up, and choked it, and it yielded no fruit.

8. And other fell on good ground, and did yield fruit that sprang up and increased; and brought forth, some thirty, and some sixty, and some an hundred.

9. And he said unto them, He that hath ears to hear, let him hear.

10. And when he was alone, they that were about him with the twelve asked of him the parable.

11. And he said unto them, Unto you it is given to know the mystery of the kingdom of God: but unto them that are without, all these things are done in parables:

12. That seeing they may see, and not perceive; and hearing they may hear, and not understand; lest at any time they should be converted, and their sins should be forgiven them.

13. And he said unto them, Know ye not this parable? and how then will ye know all parables?

14. The sower soweth the word.

15. And these are they by the way side, where the word is sown; but when they have heard, Satan cometh imediately, and taketh away the word that was sown in their hearts.

16. And these are they likewise which are sown on stony ground; who, when they have heard the word, imediately receive it with gladness;

17. And have no root in themselves, and so endure but for a time: afterward, when affliction or persecution ariseth for the word's sake, imediately they are offended.

18. And these are they which are sown among thorns; such as hear the word,

19. And the cares of this world, and the deceitfulness of riches, and the lusts of other things entering in, choke the word, and it becometh unfruitful.

20. And these are they which are sown on good ground; such as hear the word, and receive it, and bring forth fruit, some thirtyfold, some sixty, and some an hundred.

21. And he said unto them, Is a candle brought to be put under a bushel, or under a bed? and not to be set on a candlestick?

22. For there is nothing hid, which shall not be manifested; neither was any thing kept secret, but that it should come abroad.

23. If any man have ears to hear, let him hear.

24. And he said unto them, Take heed what ye hear: with what measure ye mete, it shall be measured to you: and unto you that hear shall more be given.

25. For he that hath, to him shall be given: and he that hath not, from him shall be taken even that which he hath.

26. And he said, So is the kingdom of God, as if a man should cast seed into the ground;

27. And should sleep, and rise night and day, and the seed should spring and grow up, he knoweth not how.

28. For the earth bringeth forth fruit of herself; first the blade, then the ear, after that the full corn in the ear.

29. But when the fruit is brought forth, imediately he putteth in the sickle, because the harvest is come.

30. And he said, Whereunto shall we liken the kingdom of God? or with what comparison shall we compare it?

31. It is like a grain of mustard seed, which, when it is sown in the earth, is less than all the seeds that be in the earth:

32. But when it is sown, it groweth up, and becometh greater than all herbs, and shooteth out great branches; so that the fowls of the air may lodge under the shadow of it.

33. And with many such parables spake he the word unto them, as they were able to hear it.

34. But without a parable spake he not unto them: and when they were alone, he expounded all things to his disciples.

So, pray for help and guidance and understand I am praying for you.

My prayer for you is:

3 John 1

2. Beloved, I wish above all things that thou mayest prosper and be in health, even as thy soul prospereth

Remember to show faith when you pray, then praise and give thanks.

God Bless You as you hear His words and follow His leading.
