Before you read this study understand that we do not teach, we share and then ask all who read the following take it to God and verify it with Him. We believe a lot of the world is misled by the church of the world and religion vs the one true church. And to know the truth can only come from knowing, not just knowing of God, John 14:26, I John 2:27, Rev 3:19-22.

Self Centered or God Centered

There are only 6 verses dealing with the word SELF in all 66 books of the Bible. What I find interesting about that is, is that the number 6 represents incomplete (man), so SELF is being incomplete.

Adam was God centered and then he sinned and became SELF centered.

God swore by His own SELF;

Exodus 32:13 Remember Abraham, Isaac, and Israel, thy servants, to whom thou swarest by thine own SELF, and saidst unto them, I will multiply your seed as the stars of heaven, and all this land that I have spoken of will I give unto your seed, and they shall inherit [it] for ever.

Are you in control? Or is God in control? Being of self is being in control; being of God, is having God in control.
Jesus was not of SELF; He was of God, or He was not SELF centered, but God centered.

John 5:30 I can of mine own SELF do nothing: as I hear, I judge: and my judgment is just; because I seek not mine own will, but the will of the Father which hath sent me.

Jesus was glorified in God, not in SELF.

John 17:5 And now, O Father, glorify thou me with thine own SELF with the glory which I had with thee before the world was.

Paul did not judge his own SELF, much less listen to others who judged him, but to God alone.

1 Corinthians 4:3 But with me it is a very small thing that I should be judged of you, or of man's judgment: yea, I judge not mine own SELF.

Here Paul uses SELF as the salvation of the one he is writing to.

Philemon 1:19 I Paul have written [it] with mine own hand, I will repay [it]: albeit I do not say to thee how thou owest unto me even thine own SELF besides.

Peter here writes about Jesus being nailed to the cross for our sins.

1 Peter 2:24 Who his own SELF bare our sins in his own body on the tree, that we, being dead to sins, should live unto righteousness: by whose stripes ye were healed.

If nothing else you should be able to see that SELF, is a reference to who we are. Is our SELF, God centered, or is our SELF, SELF centered? Is our SELF in-line with the Father, or with Satan? We are either of God, or of Satan. If of God, we are God centered, with God's will as our own, and a love that forgives, forgets, and never judges. Or we are of Satan and SELF centered, judging everything and everyone.
