If you planted a seed in the ground you may go weeks, or even months depending on the seed before you would see anything above ground. But that does not mean it is not growing. Actually it is the most important part of it's growth, it is branching out it's roots. A very tiny seed will grow into a root system that has been known to crack a slab for a house or at the very least un-level the home. The roots will get into pipes and drains. The roots will grow, down, out and very little up ward growth. But the item you planted let's say a banana tree will grow up and out. And when it breaks ground it has a good root system in place for itself. Then as it grows up and above the ground it will appear to be reaching for the heavens them self. Actually for the sun and it's light. All this tree needs is good soil (ground), light and water. Now what does this have to do with you, EVERYTHING. Because as someone once planted a seed of the word of God in you, it started just like the Banana tree and for a while developed roots and by the time it broke ground and started being seen it was due to someone watering, the Lord (SON), and good ground. And as the tree is seen reaching for the sun, you are seen with words coming forth like a river of live to the Son. Mark 4 10 And when He was alone, those who were about Him with the twelve asked Him about the parable. 11 And He said unto them, "Unto you it is given to know the mystery of the Kingdom of God; but unto them that are without, all these things are done in parables, 12 that, 'seeing they may see, and not perceive, and hearing they may hear, and not understand; lest at any time they should be converted and their sins should be forgiven them.'" 13 And He said unto them, "Know you not this parable? And how then will ye know all parables? 14 The sower soweth the Word. 15 And these are they by the wayside, where the Word is sown; but when they have heard, Satan cometh imediately and taketh away the Word that was sown in their hearts. 16 And these are they likewise which are sown on stony ground who, when they have heard the Word, imediately receive it with gladness; 17 but they have no root in themselves, and so endure but for a time. Afterward, when affliction or persecution ariseth for the Word's sake, imediately they are offended. 18 And these are they which are sown among thorns, such as hear the Word, 19 but the cares of this world, and the deceitfulness of riches, and the lusts of other things entering in, choke the Word, and it becometh unfruitful. 20 And these are they which are sown on good ground, such as hear the Word and receive it and bring forth fruit: some thirtyfold, some sixty, and some a hundred." 21 ¶ And He said unto them, "Is a candle brought to be put under a basket or under a bed, and not to be set on a candlestick? 22 For there is nothing hid, which shall not be manifested; neither was anything kept secret, but that it should be revealed. 23 If any man have ears to hear, let him hear." 24 And He said unto them, "Take heed what ye hear. With what measure ye mete it shall be measured to you; and unto you that hear shall more be given. 25 For he that hath, to him shall be given; and he that hath not, from him shall be taken even that which he hath." So you see a person who is good ground is one who is ready for the Lord. He/she is one who realizes they have a void in their life and want it filled. And they upon realizing this will allow the Lord to enter and then the seed that is planted in this good ground will then require those to help it grow, some to water, and some to tend to it's needs, removing the weeds, etc.
