Before you read this study understand that we do not teach, we share and then ask all who read the following take it to God and verify it with Him. We believe a lot of the world is misled by the church of the world and religion vs the one true church. And to know the truth can only come from knowing, not just knowing of God, John 14:26, I John 2:27, Rev 3:19-22.
Many are called but few are chosen because many are misled by false teachers Matthew 7:13-15 so we help all who wants to know the truth how to find and know the truth of and by God and not of and by man.

Jabez's Prayer

Pastor J. R. Wilhite, author   Close Window

A simple prayer that I have to admit I have even overlooked, until I read a book by the same title.

But I am going a little different route than the author of the book I mentioned. So that means you will need to get the book at your local bookstore.

Here are three simple steps to do or not do to make sure the prayer works in your life.

1. Believe, do not doubt

2. Do not judge (Matthew 7:1-5 & John 3:17)

3. Forgive (Mark 11:26)

If you believe, do not judge, and forgive all, then the prayer will work as all prayers should work for you. If you have a problem with any of the above 3 stop now and get it right in your life.

1 Chronicles 4

9. And Jabez was more honourable than his brethren: and his mother called his name Jabez, saying, Because I bare him with sorrow.

10. And Jabez called on the God of Israel, saying, Oh that thou wouldest bless me indeed, and enlarge my coast, and that thine hand might be with me, and that thou wouldest keep me from evil, that it may not grieve me! And God granted him that which he requested.

10.

|7121| And called

|3258| Jabez

|0430| to the God of

|3478| Israel,

|0559| saying,

|0518| Oh that indeed,

|1288| You would bless me

Bless to give you all as God wants to give, take the limits off.

|7235| and make larger

|1366| my border,

Today this would mean to increase your financial portfolio (also remember land mostly up until the 20th century was the main form of prosperity. And even today, stocks, money and bonds can all disappear but not land)

|1961| and would be

|3027| Your hand

|0000| with me,

Power, also could be the same as I Cor 1:24

|6213| and You would keep

|7451| from evil,

|1097| so that not

|6087| it may grieve me!

Same as the Lord's prayer in Matthew 6

|5414| And gave

|0430| God

|0834| what

|7592| he asked.

Now let's look at what has come to be known as the Hagin verses:

Mark 11

22. And Jesus answering saith unto them, Have faith in God.

23. For verily I say unto you, That whosoever shall say unto this mountain, Be thou removed, and be thou cast into the sea; and shall not doubt in his heart, but shall believe that those things which he saith shall come to pass; he shall have whatsoever he saith.

24. Therefore I say unto you, What things soever ye desire, when ye pray, believe that ye receive them, and ye shall have them.

25. And when ye stand praying, forgive, if ye have ought against any: that your Father also which is in heaven may forgive you your trespasses.

26. But if ye do not forgive, neither will your Father which is in heaven forgive your trespasses.

Ok, now you have gotten it from the old and the new. Jesus tells us above that it is very simple, believe, do not doubt, and forgive and it is ours to have. What is? Our heart's desires.

Matthew 7

7. Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you:

8. For every one that asketh receiveth; and he that seeketh findeth; and to him that knocketh it shall be opened.

9. Or what man is there of you, whom if his son ask bread, will he give him a stone?

10. Or if he ask a fish, will he give him a serpent?

11. If ye then, being evil, know how to give good gifts unto your children, how much more shall your Father which is in heaven give good things to them that ask him?

Here again Jesus tells us, that we do not have because we have not asked.

Below I list the first 17 verses of Hebrews 11 for one reason, that is to show you that ordinary people, people like you and me are used by God, not just the extra ordinary or the ones you might think (read the remaining 23 verses of Hebrews 11 and you will see my point even more).

Hebrews 11

1. Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.

Faith is now, it is what we hope for it is the solid makings of what we hope for, the prove of what is not yet solid or of the natural realm.

2. For by it the elders obtained a good report.

3. Through faith we understand that the worlds were framed by the word of God, so that things which are seen were not made of things which do appear.

4. By faith Abel offered unto God a more excellent sacrifice than Cain, by which he obtained witness that he was righteous, God testifying of his gifts: and by it he being dead yet speaketh.

5. By faith Enoch was translated that he should not see death; and was not found, because God had translated him: for before his translation he had this testimony, that he pleased God.

6. But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him.

Okay here is a key that without faith it is impossible to please God. It is by faith that we do extra ordinary things in our life. It is by faith we get the things hoped for, as in Jabez prayer, where he prays to be blessed and believes it, he is pleasing God.

7. By faith Noah, being warned of God of things not seen as yet, moved with fear, prepared an Mark to the saving of his house; by the which he condemned the world, and became heir of the righteousness which is by faith.

8. By faith Abraham, when he was called to go out into a place which he should after receive for an inheritance, obeyed; and he went out, not knowing whither he went.

9. By faith he sojourned in the land of promise, as in a strange country, dwelling in tabernacles with Isaac and Jacob, the heirs with him of the same promise:

10. For he looked for a city which hath foundations, whose builder and maker is God.

11. Through faith also Sara herself received strength to conceive seed, and was delivered of a child when she was past age, because she judged him faithful who had promised.

12. Therefore sprang there even of one, and him as good as dead, so many as the stars of the sky in multitude, and as the sand which is by the sea shore innumerable.

13. These all died in faith, not having received the promises, but having seen them afar off, and were persuaded of them, and embraced them, and confessed that they were strangers and pilgrims on the earth.

14. For they that say such things declare plainly that they seek a country.

15. And truly, if they had been mindful of that country from whence they came out, they might have had opportunity to have returned.

16. But now they desire a better country, that is, an heavenly: wherefore God is not ashamed to be called their God: for he hath prepared for them a city.

17. By faith Abraham, when he was tried, offered up Isaac: and he that had received the promises offered up his only begotten son,

James 4

2. Ye lust, and have not: ye kill, and desire to have, and cannot obtain: ye fight and war, yet ye have not, because ye ask not.

3. Ye ask, and receive not, because ye ask amiss, that ye may consume it upon your lusts.

The one main problem with our desires is the same as the problem with money in general; that is it owns us, instead of us owning it. When this happens our prayer stops cold. Remember money is not the root of all evil, it is the love of money that is the root of all evil.

How are all things done?

Zechariah 4

6. Then he answered and spake unto me, saying, This is the word of the Lord unto Zerubbabel, saying, Not by might, nor by power, but by my spirit, saith the Lord of hosts.

John 14

26. But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you.

1 John 2

27. But the anointing which ye have received of him abideth in you, and ye need not that any man teach you: but as the same anointing teacheth you of all things, and is truth, and is no lie, and even as it hath taught you, ye shall abide in him.

Where does all power come from as well as Godly wisdom?

1 Corinthians 1

24. But unto them which are called, both Jews and Greeks, Christ the power of God, and the wisdom of God.

Why are we given the power?

Joshua 4

24. That all the people of the earth might know the hand of the Lord, that it is mighty: that ye might fear the Lord your God forever.

Isaiah 59

1. Behold, the Lord's hand is not shortened, that it cannot save; neither his ear heavy, that it cannot hear:

Corinthians 3

5.Not that we are sufficient of ourselves to think any thing as of ourselves; but our sufficiency is of God;

6.Who also hath made us able ministers of the new testament; not of the letter, but of the spirit: for the letter killeth, but the spirit giveth life.

Always remember we are not sufficient of ourselves, but with God are we totally sufficient.

What else comes with the power and wisdom?

Acts 4

13. Now when they saw the boldness of Peter and John, and perceived that they were unlearned and ignorant men, they marveled; and they took knowledge of them, that they had been with Jesus.

Boldness and authority, some will say they are the same, but I believe we get both with the anointing.

There is one thing the first century church had that we do not, and that is DESIRE; a desire for more of God, a desire to constantly praise Him, and a desire for more of the Holy Spirit. We have lost our desires; we have become content. The anointing is like a drug, once you get a little you want more and more, except without the side effects of a bad drug.

Christ is a Greek word for the anointing in Luke 4:18 we find the anointing is the Spirit of God. To be anointed is to have God's Spirit in, on, and through like a dry sponge in a bowl of water, absorbing all the spirit in and through us. When we are saved we have the Spirit in us, but with the anointing we have it completely in, on, and through us.

Ephesians 3

16. That he would grant you, according to the riches of his glory, to be strengthened with might by his Spirit in the inner man;

19. And to know the love of Christ, which passeth knowledge, that ye might be filled with all the fulness of God.

Remember by Christ, or by God's Spirit in, on and through you, you can do all things, and God shall supply all your need according to His riches in glory by Christ, Jesus.

Philippians 4

13. I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me.

19. But my God shall supply all your need according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus.

2 Chronicles 16

9. For the eyes of the Lord run to and fro throughout the whole earth, to shew himself strong in the behalf of them whose heart is perfect toward him. Herein thou hast done foolishly: therefore from henceforth thou shalt have wars.

2 Corinthians 10

4. (For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God to the pulling down of strong holds;)

Colossians 2

13. And you, being dead in your sins and the uncircumcision of your flesh, hath he quickened together with him, having forgiven you all trespasses;

15.And having spoiled principalities and powers, he made a shew of them openly, triumphing over them in it

Much of what we have covered is in the following verses, I add this as another prayer you should pray daily believing it as much as Jabez's prayer.

Matthew 6

8.Be not ye therefore like unto them: for your Father knoweth what things ye have need of, before ye ask him.

9.After this manner therefore pray ye: Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name.

10. Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven.

His will be done in earth as it is in heaven. Have you ever heard of sickness, death, or poverty in heaven? Ok you can handle all but the death. Don't you know Jesus died so you would not die? Yes, your body will, but not who you are.

11. Give us this day our daily bread.

This is everything you need for the day.

12. And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors.

Forgive us our debts, sin is a debt that Jesus paid for you, and yes, in Israel in the old testament had a year of Jubuliee when all was forgiven.

13. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil: For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for ever. Amen.

Catch that; "lead us not into temptation" means we can avoid it.

And deliver us from evil, means we do not have to confront evil.

14. For if ye forgive men their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you:

15. But if ye forgive not men their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses.

16. Moreover when ye fast, be not, as the hypocrites, of a sad countenance: for they disfigure their faces, that they may appear unto men to fast. Verily I say unto you, They have their reward.

Here we go again, you have to forgive to be forgiven. Look at Job. Instead of cursing his friends and wife who suggested he curse God and die, he prayed for them and all was returned to him twice over.

My prayer for you is:

3 John 1

2. Beloved, I wish above all things that thou mayest prosper and be in health, even as thy soul prospereth

Remember to show faith when you pray, then praise and give thanks.

God Bless You as you hear His words and follow His leading.
