Before you read this study understand that we do not teach, we share and then ask all who read the following take it to God and verify it with Him. We believe a lot of the world is misled by the church of the world and religion vs the one true church. And to know the truth can only come from knowing, not just knowing of God, John 14:26, I John 2:27, Rev 3:19-22.
Many are called but few are chosen because many are misled by false teachers Matthew 7:13-15 so we help all who wants to know the truth how to find and know the truth of and by God and not of and by man.

Resist the Devil and He Must Leave

Pastor J. R. Wilhite, author   Close Window

The devil (as in demons, Satan, & all forms of evil) must leave if you resist.

King James Version

James 4

7. Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.

Literal translation

James 4

7.

|5293| Be subject,

|3767| therefore,

|2316| to God.

|0436| Oppose

|3588| the

|1228| devil,

|2532| and

|5343| he will run away

|0575| from

|5216| you.

Devil

Strong's Ref. # 1228

Romanized diabolos

Pronounced dee-ab'-ol-os

from GSN1225; a traducer; specially, Satan [compare HSN7854]:

KJV--false accuser, devil, slanderer.

Oppose

Strong's Ref. # 436

Romanized anthistemi

Pronounced anth-is'-tay-mee

from GSN0473 and GSN2476; to stand against, i.e. oppose:

KJV--resist, withstand.

Subject

Strong's Ref. # 5293

Romanized hupotasso

Pronounced hoop-ot-as'-so

from GSN5259 and GSN5021; to subordinate; reflexively, to obey:

KJV--be under obedience (obedient), put under, subdue unto, (be, make) subject (to, unto), be (put) in subjection (to, under), submit self unto.

Ok, if you are subject to God, oppose all that is of the devil, are saved, and believe he will flee; no doubt he will run away.

If you oppose someone or something, then you are opposite from each other (180 degrees in the other direction). So, wherever in your life you have anything that is not of God then you oppose God in that area. And of course the reverse is true as well.

Here is one of the reasons people have trouble: They can not resist the devil or temptation and lose out on most (if not all) of their blessings.

Acts 7

51. Ye stiff-necked and uncircumcised in heart and ears, ye do always resist the Holy Ghost: as your fathers did, so do ye.

Do not think that if you get blessed occasionally you are blessed. That could be happening due to others praying for you, not because of you.

To resist the devil and have him leave you must first be saved, and you MUST BELIEVE that if you resist him he will leave. Then you start by saying over and over again "Resist the devil and he must flee" and say it until it gets in you so deep that when you need it, it comes up automatically. It will not come up automatically every time until you get it so deep in you that it is a part of you.

There are certain key verses in the word that are needed in every day life, but also in the operation in the kingdom of God, they are as follows:

John 3

16. For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.

17. For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved.

Romans 8

16. The Spirit itself beareth witness with our spirit, that we are the children of God:

Matthew 7

1. Judge not, that ye be not judged.

2. For with what judgment ye judge, ye shall be judged: and with what measure ye mete, it shall be measured to you again.

Mark 11

22. And Jesus answering saith unto them, Have faith in God.

23. For verily I say unto you, That whosoever shall say unto this mountain, Be thou removed, and be thou cast into the sea; and shall not doubt in his heart, but shall believe that those things which he saith shall come to pass; he shall have whatsoever he saith.

24. Therefore I say unto you, What things soever ye desire, when ye pray, believe that ye receive them, and ye shall have them.

25. And when ye stand praying, forgive, if ye have ought against any: that your Father also which is in heaven may forgive you your trespasses.

26. But if ye do not forgive, neither will your Father which is in heaven forgive your trespasses.

Hebrews 11

1. Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.

6. But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him.

Romans 10

17. So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.

John 14

26. But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you.

I John

27. But the anointing which ye have received of him abideth in you, and ye need not that any man teach you: but as the same anointing teacheth you of all things, and is truth, and is no lie, and even as it hath taught you, ye shall abide in him.

1 Corinthians 1

24. But unto them which are called, both Jews and Greeks, Christ the power of God, and the wisdom of God.

Luke 4

18. The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he hath anointed me to preach the gospel to the poor; he hath sent me to heal the brokenhearted, to preach deliverance to the captives, and recovering of sight to the blind, to set at liberty them that are bruised,

Christ

Strong's Ref. # 5547

Romanized Christos

Pronounced khris-tos'

from GSN5548; anointed, i.e. the Messiah, an epithet of Jesus:

KJV--Christ.

The verses above as I said are key verses. Yes, there are more, but with the 17 listed you can (if you are of Christ the Spirit of God in, on and through you) walk and live in all of the blessings and of course resist the devil.

While you are resisting the devil, you need to realize that means you are resisting all that is of the devil, debt, sickness, illness, injuries, bondage, and addictions.

Isaiah 10

27. And it shall come to pass in that day, that his burden shall be taken away from off thy shoulder, and his yoke from off thy neck, and the yoke shall be destroyed because of the anointing.

Luke 4

19. To preach the acceptable year of the Lord.

Romans 8

Nay, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him that loved us.

My prayer for you is:

3 John 1

2. Beloved, I wish above all things that thou mayest prosper and be in health, even as thy soul prospereth

Remember to show faith when you pray, then praise and give thanks.

God Bless You as you hear His words and follow His leading.
