Before you read this study understand that we do not teach, we share and then ask all who read the following take it to God and verify it with Him. We believe a lot of the world is misled by the church of the world and religion vs the one true church. And to know the truth can only come from knowing, not just knowing of God, John 14:26, I John 2:27, Rev 3:19-22.
Many are called but few are chosen because many are misled by false teachers Matthew 7:13-15 so we help all who wants to know the truth how to find and know the truth of and by God and not of and by man.

Things/Idols

Pastor J. R. Wilhite, author   Close Window

Do you have idols in your home, car, and at work? You may not even realize it; you may even consider them to be something other than idols.

I have see people drive around with the fish and dove on their car and think they are doing a great thing for the Lord.
Guess what? They are not. Do you know why they are not?

Try to answer this; take a moment and think about it.

Jesus did not die for idols, but for each of us. Each of us, get it, individuals, to have an individual relationship with God as Adam had in the beginning.

We are not here to work for God. We are not here to save others; Jesus did that. We are here to have a relationship with God, to grow close to Him and make sure we are one with Him and not allow anything or anyone to get between Him and us.

Oh yes, we justify or we even think we are doing a good work by having these things showing others that we believe.

Don't get me wrong; it is not wrong to tell others and show others who and what we are, but not until it is written on our hearts first.

More often than not people have the things to show they can say it, but forget to do it. They don't walk the walk. They may talk some of the talk, and that means more than attending church once a week and having a dove or fish on a car. It means getting up in the morning talking to Him and spending the day with Him and going to bed talking to Him, and of course during all of this time listening to Him as well.

It means be obedient to Him, follow His word, have Him guide you through His Word as He dictated:

John 14

  1. But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you.

Growing in Him allowing the Christ to become a part of you, to be more than just apart of the church.

When you are saved you become a part of the church, but then you need to continue to grow and become part of the body of Christ.

But so many early on in excitement get Bibles and other items that later become door stops or just decorations around the house.

Some become idols while others collect dust.

The point is that you can have all of the pictures of footprints, or Jesus coming in the clouds, and so on, but if your heart is not right, if you are not growing spiritually with the Lord daily, none of that matters, because it is all dust anyway, or at least it will be one day.

So if you have a giant Bible on your coffee table as a book end or a table top fine, but it would be nice to open it once in a while.

The idea is this, this life is short, and if there is no other life then it is all a waste anyway. But, if there is another life, you better get ready, and don't wait until the last minute thinking you have plenty of time, because who promised you that you have even the next second, much less the next day.

So get those items that show who you are and what you are and put them away until you have it written in your heart and then bring them out and see what they mean to you.

My prayer for you is:

3 John 1

2. Beloved, I wish above all things that thou mayest prosper and be in health, even as thy soul prospereth

Remember to show faith when you pray, then praise and give thanks.

God Bless You as you hear His words and follow His leading.
