Before you read this study understand that we do not teach, we share and then ask all who read the following take it to God and verify it with Him. We believe a lot of the world is misled by the church of the world and religion vs the one true church. And to know the truth can only come from knowing, not just knowing of God, John 14:26, I John 2:27, Rev 3:19-22.
Many are called but few are chosen because many are misled by false teachers Matthew 7:13-15 so we help all who wants to know the truth how to find and know the truth of and by God and not of and by man.

Obedience II

Pastor J. R. Wilhite, author   Close Window

We are to be obedient to God in all areas. If you are growing in the Lord it is due to Him not man; you have learned how to listen to Him and hear His voice, not mans. Jesus told us in John 14:26 that we would have the Spirit of God to teach us all things and bring remembrance of all things taught. In I John 2:27 we are told that it is not of man but of God that we learn. We don't even become a member of the church until God reveals to us who Jesus is as the Christ (God's Spirit anointing (in, on, and through) each who is of Christ) and as His Son.

Matthew 16
15. He saith unto them, But whom say ye that I am?
16. And Simon Peter answered and said, Thou art the Christ, the Son of the living God.
17. And Jesus answered and said unto him, Blessed art thou, Simon Barjona: for flesh and blood hath not revealed it unto thee, but my Father which is in heaven.
18. And I say also unto thee, That thou art Peter, and upon this rock I will build my church; and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it.
19. And I will give unto thee the keys of the kingdom of heaven: and whatsoever thou shalt bind on earth shall be bound in heaven: and whatsoever thou shalt loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven.

Peter is "Petros" in Greek or "piece of the rock". The rock is the church, or the revealed knowledge of who Jesus is as the Christ (Spirit of God, in, on, and through) and the true Son of God. So as God reveals to you who Jesus is, you then are a part of the church.

In Mark 4 we are told if we do not understand the parable in Mark 4 we could not understand any parable. And in Mark 4 Jesus revealed to the Apostles what the parable meant.

Why is revelation so important? God has to reveal the truths of Himself to us, because the world has lied about Him for so long. To get through all of the walls we have (due to the world) we must have a revelation to realize the truth.

So what does all this have to do with being obedient? Mainly that even as our own salvation comes this way, so will our obedience. In Romans 8:16 we are told that God's Spirit reveals to our spirit that we are children of God. Not man telling us, but God's Spirit.

To be obedient you have to listen, otherwise you can not hear what you are to be obedient to.

It is easy to follow the laws of the Old Testament, or of the world Vs listening and hearing from God. This is due to the world; they have taught that if you talk to God that is OK as long as He does not respond. Hearing a voice in your head or audibly is taught to be down right wacko. So we go through life not realizing that we can hear His voice.

In the past others who have not been obedient have suffered and those who have been obedient have been blessed. Abraham was obedient and took Isaac up to be sacrificed. When God saw that Abraham did not even put his son before God, God supplied Abraham with a ram to sacrifice instead. David on the other hand knew better than take another man's wife but did so anyway and lost his first child due to his disobedience. There are many more examples throughout the Bible.

I almost got into a big fight with an in-law once, and when he insisted on talking further privately all I said was, "No." Those who know me, know that I will take any opening to preach or teach. So for me to say "no" and be at peace about it was strange. Then the next day God let me know if I had continued with him in the same conversation that he might have gotten even more offended or angry and it may have done even more damage than had happened so far. You have to understand that, no matter what, until this night I always jumped on every opening to discuss the word. I was thrilled the next day to find out I was tested and passed the test.

God does not test us in ways that would hurt us. He will give us peace and help us. God is about love, salvation, peace, joy, not about suffering or wrath. His wrath based on Matthew 24:29 is after the tribulation period for about an hour. All that happens in tribulation is due to man, not God. God will pour His wrath out, but only after giving us over 2,000 years to change our ways, and then after 3.5 years of man ruling without God to see how it would be without Him and then for the really stubborn people to see what it would be like under Satan. He is about second chances; the flood could have ended it, but it did not.

If you do not hear from God then spend twice as much or more time listening as you do talking until you hear His voice. You will know and then continue to listen to hear Him on a regular basis and follow Him. If you listen to Him you will eventually hear Him and as you hear Him more and more, you will hear Romans 8:16 and know you are saved no matter what anyone says. Then as you continue to listen, He will guide you to whom you need to talk to without messing up someone that is already being helped by someone else.

God Bless You as you hear His words and follow His leading.
