The Light Part III

There are billions of stars in the universe, but we only see (with best of conditions) about 6,000 stars. If you think about it, out of the 6,000 we really only see a few hundred or just a few most of the time, especially in cities. Compare this with mankind; you are one of the billions, but are you one of the not seen, the 6,000, the few hundred, or are you one of the few? Is this important to you?
Think about the moon; it reflects the light of the sun. We are supposed to reflect the light of the Son. Even in this comparison you could be like the New Moon, a ¼ moon, ½ moon, ¾ moon, or as bright as a full moon appears in its reflection.
In Mark 4 we hear of 4 different people who hear the word.
Mark 4
14. The sower soweth the word.
heard, Satan cometh imediately, and taketh away the word that was sown in their
hearts.
heard the word, imediately receive it with gladness;
affliction or persecution ariseth for the word's sake, imediately they are offended.
18. And these are they which are sown among thorns; such as hear the word,
things entering in, choke the word, and it becometh unfruitful.
receive it, and bring forth fruit, some thirtyfold, some sixty, and some an hundred.
We can be any one of these; first based on how much we allow to be sown into our soul (mind, will and emotions) and then on how we dwell on it and let it sink down into our spirit and come back out of our mouth. Remember your salvation is based on what you confess (Romans 10:9-10).
Psalms 119:105 Thy word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path.
When we look at this world and all of its growing wickedness and darkness, notice how many of our children are killing each other. Notice how much younger they are when they are doing these things. As we step into the light, we start seeing the truth of how dark our comunities and our souls have become due to the world and its ways.
It is like living in a multi-layered tent all of our lives. Then one day someone takes off one the layers of the tent, just to give us a hint as to how much light is outside. Even though we spent our whole lives thinking, "This is it; I've seen it all," in reality, all the time, we were in the dark. After seeing a little we try to step through the walls of the tent into the outside to find such brightness, of a type we never experienced even when we looked straight into the sun itself. But this brightness does not blind us, it illuminates our entire being, soul, mind, will, emotions, spirit, and body. We look back and see what we were living in and how dark and moody it was, and wonder why we never noticed it before.
Imagine you are in an area filled with mercy, love, compassion, joy, peace, forgiveness, and understanding, to the point you can feel it like the mist of a thick fog. Imagine light so bright you can feel it, a sense of well being that permeates the atmosphere and your entire body.
We start by listening to the word and getting it into us and then letting it back out. First you must forgive all, and I mean forgiving everything and everyone including yourself. This can be as scary as the first time you tithe. In some cases you have to forgive in ways you're not even sure of how to do so, or if you do, how you will survive. Then you forget, and you go forward towards the Mark of God in your life, realizing there is so much more to learn and to grow in, but also there are so many blessings to enjoy.
John 1
4. In him was life; and the life was the light of men.
While in the darkness it is hard to even comprehend the light. So many people think they are in the light only to find out later they were deceived by Satan. The light will first bring peace. Second it will help you overcome things in your life, any unforgiveness or any judging you may do. As you grow in the light, it will shine in areas of your soul you never even knew existed and it will break barriers that hold you back. It is time for a house cleaning in most of our souls.
The light removes hate, evil thoughts, strife, and offense. It helps you understand things to help you show the light in your life to others; you become a beacon. However, this is not done over night. Even after you enter the light you are not all the way there yet. Some will stay at the edge and never go far enough into the light to enjoy and have all the benefits of the light.
Mark 4
and not to be set on a candlestick?
secret, but that it should come abroad.
23. If any man have ears to hear, let him hear.
be measured to you: and unto you that hear shall more be given.
25. For he that hath, to him shall be given: and he that hath not, from him shall be taken
even that which he hath.
Do not put the light you have deep in the darkest parts of your mind to be hidden, but let it shine outward to all.
Genesis 1
1. In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth.
deep. And the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters.
Remember, in the beginning darkness was a problem. God saw that He had to address it and He did so by His Son, by anointing Him as the light of this world. That light was to shine into the depths of our souls to remove darkness and fill the void in our lives.
John 1
I hope these two studies, as short as they are, help. They are this way to give you a chance to digest them. Go over them on a regular basis and stay in them until you get the light so deeply into you that you will never even think of straying back into the darkness.
