To redeem is to restore, purchase, or buy back.
Strong's Ref. # 1350
Romanized ga'al
Pronounced gaw-al'
a primitive root, to redeem (according to the Oriental law of kinship), i.e. to be the next of kin (and as such to buy back a relative's property, marry his widow, etc.):
KJV--X in any wise, X at all, avenger, deliver, (do, perform the part of near, next) kinsfolk(-man), purchase, ransom, redeem(-er), revenger.
Strong's Ref. # 1805
Romanized exagorazo
Pronounced ex-ag-or-ad'-zo
from GSN1537 and GSN0059; to buy up, i.e. ransom; figuratively, to rescue from loss (improve opportunity):
KJV--redeem.
To be redeemed is to have been bought for a price from what ever you are needing redemption from. Sin is the cause of sickness, illness, disease, lack, debt, death, Hell, etc. So to be redeemed from sin by the blood of Jesus means the price needed to buy us back from sin was the blood of Jesus and we are redeemed or purchased from sin.
Matthew 6
9. After this manner therefore pray ye: Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name.
10. Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven.
11. Give us this day our daily bread.
12. And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors.
What is God's will for us?
It is His will for everything to be done on earth as it is in heaven.
Would Jesus tell us to pray for anything we could not achieve?
So is there sickness, disease, illness, lack, debt, sadness, depression, hate, violence, or death in heaven?
No, and before I go on, as a Christian, being of Christ you will be transformed not die. Yes, the body dies, but not who you are.
Matthew 9
came behind him, and touched the hem of his garment:
21. For she said within herself, If I may but touch his garment, I shall be whole.
22. But Jesus turned him about, and when he saw her, he said, Daughter, be of good
comfort; thy faith hath made thee whole. And the woman was made whole from that hour.
Mark 5
35. While he yet spake, there came from the ruler of the synagogue's house certain which said, Thy daughter is dead: why troublest thou the Master any further?
36. As soon as Jesus heard the word that was spoken, he saith unto the ruler of the synagogue, Be not afraid, only believe.
Here comes doubt, and what does Jesus say? "Only believe." Why are so many of us not getting the will of God in our lives?
Mark 4
13. And he said unto them, Know ye not this parable? and how then will ye know all parables?
14. The sower soweth the word.
15. And these are they by the way side, where the word is sown; but when they have heard, Satan cometh imediately, and taketh away the word that was sown in their hearts.
16. And these are they likewise which are sown on stony ground; who, when they have heard the word, imediately receive it with gladness;
17. And have no root in themselves, and so endure but for a time: afterward, when affliction or persecution ariseth for the word's sake, imediately they are offended.
18. And these are they which are sown among thorns; such as hear the word,
19. And the cares of this world, and the deceitfulness of riches, and the lusts of other things entering in, choke the word, and it becometh unfruitful.
20. And these are they which are sown on good ground; such as hear the word, and receive it, and bring forth fruit, some thirty fold, some sixty, and some an hundred.
This could mean that only 1 out of 4, at best, will get the message and then you have the religious minded who will go against this because it does not fit into their way of doing things.
What one does today at the expense of tomorrow is called debt.
That is the way of the world; get what you want NOW even if you cannot afford it; just go to in debt and the more the better. This is not God's will for us. God's will is for us to be the lenders and not the borrowers, to owe no man but to love him/her.
Jeremiah 29 NIV
11. For I know the plans I have for you," declares the LORD, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.
Jeremiah 29 KJV
11. For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the Lord, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end.
12. Then shall ye call upon me, and ye shall go and pray unto me, and I will heMarken unto you.
Here is a list of God's will for us:
So how do I know this? Other than about 100+ scriptures on it, the Lord's prayer tells us "His will be done on earth as it is in heaven". That is how it is in heaven.
Here is something to try.
3 John 1
2. Beloved, I wish above all things that thou mayest prosper and be in health, even as thy soul prospereth.
