Relationship Part II

Pastor J. R. Wilhite

To know God is to know Love. Love is when one gives totally to the other, life, things, time, respect, to give all. It is not mystical, but real. It is the most real thing in life and it is what makes the difference between murderers, rapists and those who give.

No games, religions, beads, crosses, homes, cars, or any other thing can fill the void left by sin only love. That was what was stolen from us, true love.

Look at all the killings, kids killing kids, adults killing adults and kids. The man who shot and killed 9 and injured 13 others and his two children and wife did it because he lost $105,000 in one month on day trading. If he loved his wife and children and they loved him and he knew it, he would not hurt anyone, but would have gotten support from the family and gone on. No thing is irreplaceable, but life is.

Love is the key we have missing today. Everyone is working so hard and long to buy more things ignoring the important thing, love.

How do we learn how to love? First, hopefully, our parents teach us and show us through their love and then we are passed off to God. All of this is dependent on a relationship and no relationship can start or grow without time.

A man meets a woman, they spend time together and they get married. Why did they get married? Normally due to feelings they feel for each other that developed in time, TIME TOGETHER. Then after the "I Do's" the I Don'ts start. I do not have time, I do not have the money, I don't have the energy. This all starts as we become more secure (false) in our relationship and start spending less time together. In every relationship there has to be comunication; two way, where both talk and understand each other. Then there has to be time spent doing things together. There has to be trust, and love for the relationship to grow. All of this starts with spending time on the relationship.

Well, guess what? It is the same with God, we have to spend time, talking and listening to Him. Like a marriage, where it can get to a point where one or both sides no longer hear each other, we have to stop and make time and take the time needed, no matter how much time that is. At first it has to be listening and not talking.

As you start listening and hearing God will guide you to avoid most of the pitfalls you have experienced. He will guide you to the perfect mate for you. And He will always be there for you.

READ PART I

If you read Malachi 3:10-12 and then Mark 4:12-18 you will see where the tithe can and will increase your knowledge of the word and of God. The tithe is more than just giving 10% to a church, it is a way for God to have authority in your life over all that matters, your income, your growth, even relationships. Out of about 30 people I have known for the past 10+ years only 5 tithed. The 5 of the 20 that tithed have increased in every area of their life. Where the other 15 have increased some, they are still light years behind the 5 who tithed in all areas. It is your choice, but do not tithe until you understand the tithe and what it does for you and do it from the heart and not the head.
