Before you read this study understand that we do not teach, we share and then ask all who read the following take it to God and verify it with Him. We believe a lot of the world is misled by the church of the world and religion vs the one true church. And to know the truth can only come from knowing, not just knowing of God, John 14:26, I John 2:27, Rev 3:19-22.
Many are called but few are chosen because many are misled by false teachers Matthew 7:13-15 so we help all who wants to know the truth how to find and know the truth of and by God and not of and by man.

Baptize

Pastor J. R. Wilhite, author   Close Window

I have studied Baptism for years. I was imersed in water in 1973. I am not against the water baptism, but I am against the belief that it saves anyone. When the Lord said to baptize in His name, that was not water, but His name (Matthew 28:19, Acts 2:38).

In the different ideas about Baptism Satan has stolen from us and divided us from each other. The Lord told us a kingdom divided could not stand. (Mark 3:24) Paul stated they were divided in the first century and we still are today.

I Cor 1:12. Now this I say, that every one of you saith, I am of Paul; and I of Apollos; and I of Cephas; and I of Christ.

I Cor 1:13. Is Christ divided? was Paul crucified for you? or were ye baptized in the name of Paul?

Let's see what it might say today:

I Cor 1:12. Now this I say, that every one of you saith, I am of Baptist; and I of Methodist; and I of Catholic; and I of Christ.

The idea was to divide and keep us ignorant. Satan did his job too well. In the late 1980's the word Christ was once again revealed to be more than the last name of Jesus. It became truth in ways people before us never understood since the first century church. Christ is a Greek word for the anointing, the Spirit of God, in, on, and through man.

IS 10:27. And it shall come to pass in that day, that his burden shall be taken away from off thy shoulder, and his yoke from off thy neck, and the yoke shall be destroyed because of the anointing.

Jesus stated that He was anointed:

Luke 4:18. The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he hath anointed me to preach the gospel to the poor; he hath sent me to heal the brokenhearted, to preach deliverance to the captives, and recovering of sight to the blind, to set at liberty them that are bruised,

Luke 4:19 To preach the acceptable year of the Lord.

So it came about that we understood what Christ meant, not His last name or title but a power. Now there are other areas that have had their meanings obscured in same way, baptism being one of them.

As Jesus followed all of the customs of the day, so He also was baptized in water. Did He need to repent? No, He did not need to repent because He had not sinned. The baptism John did was of repentance, and until Jesus spilled His blood for our sins, that was all there was other than the sacrificing of animals (which also was temporary). Jesus went and followed the ways of the time and He also honored John to show who John was (which also pointed out who He was). Jesus' baptism ended the ministry John started and began His own. It was at the cross when Jesus said, "It is finished" that He came to bring a more perfect sacrifice, one that paid the price once and for all (that was something we could not do). He paid a price with His own blood, a price He did not owe. Now some have the idea that since the word baptism is used that water is the meaning. The word baptism means "imersion", and that imersion is to be in the blood of Jesus, and the imersion in the Spirit of God. One faith, one imersion, that was what Jesus meant in Acts 1:5

Acts 1:5. For John truly baptized with water; but ye shall be baptized with the Holy Ghost not many days hence.

Ephesians 4:5. One Lord, one faith, one baptism,

Ephesians 4:5.

|1519| one

|2962| Lord,

|3391| one

|4102| faith,

|1722| one

|0908| imersion,

In Ephesians 4:5 it says one imersion or one baptism. Then why did Jesus state in Acts 1:5 that the apostles would be baptized in the Holy Spirit? Was He saying there was more than one, or was He changing it? No to both. He was stating That the baptism after His resurrection was to be in the Spirit of God. Take the word comunion it means to be partners on an intimate level or to be imersed with whom you are having comunion. Who do we have comunion with? The Lord of course and we do it through His Spirit.

Philippians 1:3. For we are the circumcision, which worship God in the spirit, and rejoice in Christ Jesus, and have no confidence in the flesh.

John 4:23. But the hour cometh, and now is, when the true worshippers shall worship the Father in spirit and in truth: for the Father seeketh such to worship him.

John 4:24. God is a Spirit: and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth.

Let us look at John 3 where so many want to make it water baptism more than Spirit.

John 3:5. Jesus answered, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God.

John 3:6. That which is born of the flesh is flesh; and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit.

That which is of flesh is flesh means if you are born, you are born of water. Before you are born, you are surrounded by a bag of water inside the womb. When you come out you are born into the realm of air. Being born of the Spirit is being born out of this physical realm into the spiritual one and being of the Spirit.

Matthew 28:19. Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost:

Matthew 28:19.

Acts 19:4. Then said Paul, John verily baptized with the baptism of repentance, saying unto the people, that they should believe on him which should come after him, that is, on Christ Jesus.

Paul stated here that there was a difference between John's baptism of repentance and that of Jesus.

Acts 19:5. When they heard this, they were baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus.

17. Then laid they their hands on them, and they received the Holy Ghost.

Here is the one time it points out Baptism in the name of Jesus required laying on of hands for the Holy Spirit to come, not salvation, but the filling of the Spirit of God. No water mentioned anywhere.

God is very specific. If He means water, He states water, and when He states in His name, He means in His name. To be baptized in the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit is true baptism (Matthew 18:19).

Matthew 3
11. I indeed baptize you with water unto repentance: but he that cometh after me is mightier than I, whose shoes I am not worthy to bear: he shall baptize you with the Holy Ghost, and with fire:

For your own research look up how many of the Apostles were baptized in water Vs the Holy Spirit. Remember Jesus was baptized in water before His death, as He also observed all of the Old Testament, but at His death it was all complete, finished. He brought it all together in 2 comandments, what are these two comandments?
