Peace Part II

Pastor J. R. Wilhite, author   Close Window

Adam lived in perfect harmony with God, and the earth until he sinned.

A sin is anything that cuts us off from God. It is everything from gossip to murder. All sins are the same in the eyes of God because it all does the same. It seems that "a little white lie" is not as bad as murder, but if anything can cut you off from God and your life with Him then it is just as bad.

Too many people have an idea of God as a wrathful, angry, revengeful, and even hateful God. They all base these ideas on teaching from people who never knew God.

God's word is misunderstood and that is due to the devil stealing whatever he can.

In Mark 4 we are told of how there are 4 types of word sown. Only one is good and the other 3 are temporary at best and mostly lost due to cares of the world or Satan stealing it.

I remember how angry one of our members of H.O.M.E. became when she learned and got into her what Christ meant. She was angry about how it had been kept from her for so long by Satan.

Well the peace is the same way, it has taken me 5 years of diligent study to get a full handle on the peace. It is just starting and I can see so much already happening.

It is like in Exodus with the Pharaoh and Moses. God did not harden the heart of Pharaoh until the end. The first few plagues God produced were duplicated by the magicians of Pharaoh's court and in this way was Pharaoh's heart hardened, not necessarily by God.

By the time it got down to the last few plagues God then used Pharaoh (who had already had many chances to change) to prove to everyone in Egypt and all the world just who God was.

Remember the people of Egypt at this time worshipped all kinds of demigods. They had idols of all forms. They were evil incarnate and they still had a chance at salvation. Any who stayed in Goshen during the last 6 of 9 plagues were saved from them and any who painted lamb's blood on their door posts were saved from the last plague as well. God saved Egypt 430 years earlier via Joseph and Egypt was grateful for a short while. But as God blessed Israel and multiplied them, Egypt became afraid of them and their numbers.

Add to this that Egypt was getting more and more into pagan worship and enslaving Israel. It is a miracle God gave them any chance at all, but most of all Pharaoh's heart was hardened by pagan gods. So God used this to break the hold these pagan gods had on Egypt and tried to save them.

Here is another misunderstood verse that changes the whole meaning of the book of Job.

Job 2:3. And the Lord said unto Satan, Hast thou considered my servant Job, that there is none like him in the earth, a perfect and an upright man, one that feareth God, and escheweth evil? and still he holdeth fast his integrity, although thou movedst me against him, to destroy him without cause.

We have been taught that God was pointing out Job to Satan, now look at the Literal translation of the same verse.

3.

|0559| And said

|3068| Yahweh

|0000| to

|7854| Satan,

|7760| Have you set

|3824| your heart

|0000| on

|5650| My servant

|0347| Job?

|3588| For

|0369| not is {any}

|0000| like him

|0776| in the earth,

|0376| a man

|8535| perfect

|3477| and upright,

|3373| revering

|0430| God

|5186| and turning away

|7451| from wrong.

|5750| And he still is

|2388| holding on

|8538| to his integrity,

|5496| although you incited Me

|0000| against him,

|0006| to destroy him

|2600| for nothing.

Here we see that God was asking Satan what was in his (Satan's) heart against Job. A big difference, enough to change the whole meaning of what happened to Job.

You see it is not God that is out to hurt us; it is Satan who is using God's word to hinder and hurt us, and all God can do is wait to help us when we finally get tired of Satan.

God is always there and He has done all for us we need, it is up to us to believe.

Satan, realizing this, has used all he has to keep us in the dark in all areas.

John 14:1. Let not your heart be troubled: ye believe in God, believe also in me.

First thing Jesus said here, "let not your heart be troubled". Heart being spirit, our spirit, and the only way it can be troubled is if we listen to the wrong spirits, or doubt. Yes, you can hear from the wrong spirits:

I John 4:1. Beloved, believe not every spirit, but try
the spirits whether they are of God: because many false prophets are gone
out into the world.
If we do not test the spirits this could happen.
I Tim 4:1. Now the Spirit speaketh expressly, that in the latter times
some shall depart from the faith, giving heed to seducing spirits, and
doctrines of Baptdevils;

John 14:2. In my Father's house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you.

Mansions should be places, but that is not as important as the fact that Jesus was telling us to prepare for a time when He would come and get us, rapture.

John 14:3. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also.

John 14: 4. And whither I go ye know, and the way ye know.

John 14:5. Thomas saith unto him, Lord, we know not whither thou goest; and how can we know the way?

Here is what happens when you are in the head knowledge and not the spirit. Doubt and insecurity get in the way. If Thomas was of the spirit of God, he would never have asked this question. Remember what happened when Mary entered into Elisabeth's home.

Luke 1: 41. And it came to pass, that, when Elisabeth heard the salutation of Mary, the babe leaped in her womb; and Elisabeth was filled with the Holy Ghost:

Even in the womb John recognized the Spirit, recognized the Lord, Jesus.

John 14:6. Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.

He is the way to life eternal. He is the truth, the only truth, and life. He brings us life eternal.

John 14:7. If ye had known me, ye should have known my Father also: and from henceforth ye know him, and have seen him.

John 14:8. Philip saith unto him, Lord, shew us the Father, and it sufficeth us.

John 14:9. Jesus saith unto him, have I been so long time with you, and yet hast thou not known me, Philip? he that hath seen me hath seen the Father; and how sayest thou then, Shew us the Father?

John 14:10. Believest thou not that I am in the Father, and the Father in me? the words that I speak unto you I speak not of myself: but the Father that dwelleth in me, he doeth the works.

John 14:11. Believe me that I am in the Father, and the Father in me: or else believe me for the very works' sake.

Is Jesus not in us, is not God a Spirit, and is that Spirit not in, on and through (anointing) us? Then are we not a part of God and God a part of us? Then why do we not grow, and enter the peace, power, and wisdom of God?

Hosea 4: 6. My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge: because thou hast rejected knowledge, I will also reject thee, that thou shalt be no priest to me: seeing thou hast forgotten the law of thy God, I will also forget thy children.

We are all priests based on the book of Revelation. So how are we destroyed due to a lack of knowledge? This is not man's knowledge and man's religion, but God's knowledge.

I John 2:27. But the anointing which ye have received of him abideth in you, and ye need not that any man teach you: but as the same anointing teacheth you of all things, and is truth, and is no lie, and even as it hath taught you, ye shall abide in him.

The anointing is also the Christ, and that is the Spirit of God in, on, and through us.

I Cor. 1: 24. But unto them which are called, both Jews and Greeks, Christ the power of God, and the wisdom of God

John 14:12. Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me, the works that I do shall he do also; and greater works than these shall he do; because I go unto my Father.

John 14:13. And whatsoever ye shall ask in my name, that will I do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son.

John 14:14. If ye shall ask any thing in my name, I will do it.

John 14:15. If ye love me, keep my comandments.

What comandments? To love God before all us in our soul, body and spirit and to love all alive as we Love Him. No judging, or pre-judices, no hate, no envy, or jealousy.

John 14:16. And I will pray the Father, and he shall give you another Comforter, that he may abide with you for ever;

John 14:17. Even the Spirit of truth; whom the world cannot receive, because it seeth him not, neither knoweth him: but ye know him; for he dwelleth with you, and shall be in you.

John 14:18. I will not leave you comfortless: I will come to you.

John 14:19. Yet a little while, and the world seeth me no more; but ye see me: because I live, ye shall live also.

John 14: 20. At that day ye shall know that I am in my Father, and ye in me, and I in you.

John 14:21. He that hath my comandments, and keepeth them, he it is that loveth me: and he that loveth me shall be loved of my Father, and I will love him, and will manifest myself to him.

John 14:22. Judas, not Iscariot, saith unto himLord, how is it that thou wilt manifest thyself unto us, and not unto the world?

John 14:23. Jesus answered and said unto him, If a man love me, he will keep my words: and my Father will love him, and we will come unto him, and make our abode with him.

John 14:24. He that loveth me not keepeth not my sayings: and the word which ye hear is not mine, but the Father's which sent me.

John 14:25. These things have I spoken unto you, being yet present with you.

John 14:26. But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you.

John 14:27. Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.

He had to leave to send the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit was and is directed by Him, and He had to do that from above.

John 15:15. Henceforth I call you not servants; for the servant knoweth not what his lord doeth: but I have called you friends; for all things that I have heard of my Father I have made known unto you.

So many consider us as servants and need to learn to grow beyond the stage of servants to being ordained with all we have to use to be all we can be in the kingdom.

John 15:16. Ye have not chosen me, but I have chosen you, and ordained you, that ye should go and bring forth fruit, and that your fruit should remain: that whatsoever ye shall ask of the Father in my name, he may give it you.

As in the days of Jesus (there were those religious leaders who wanted to kill Jesus for what He stood for), so are there today those who want to stop those of us in the truth.

John 8:12. Then spake Jesus again unto them, saying, I am the light of the world: he that followeth me shall not walk in darkness, but shall have the light of life.

John 8:13. The Pharisees therefore said unto him, Thou bearest record of thyself; thy record is not true.

John 8:14. Jesus answered and said unto them, Though I bear record of myself, yet my record is true: for I know whence I came, and whither I go; but ye cannot tell whence I come, and whither I go.

John 4:23. But the hour cometh, and now is, when the true worshippers shall worship the Father in spirit and in truth: for the Father seeketh such to worship him.

John 4:24. God is a Spirit: and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth.

There are 3 forms of baptism. The baptism of water that John did was for repentance, and was needed until Jesus was raised from the dead. Now it is done to show our faith in Him.

Most of the Apostles were never baptized or at least there is no record of it anywhere.

The baptism of blood is our salvation, the blood Jesus shed for us. The baptism of the Holy Spirit is our connection to God.

Acts 11:16. Then remembered I the word of the Lord, how that he said, John indeed baptized with water; but ye shall be baptized with the Holy Ghost.

Acts 1:5. For John truly baptized with water; but ye shall be baptized with the Holy Ghost not many days hence

Acts 10:34. Then Peter opened his mouth, and said, Of a truth I perceive that God is no respecter of persons:

Jesus used every means He could to convey who and what He was and what He was here for.

He is the Light John 1:4 and Genesis 1:3

He is the Way John 14:6

He is the Truth John 14:6

He is the Word John 1:1, 14

He is the Life John 14:6

He is God

IS 54:10. For the mountains shall depart, and the hills be removed; but my kindness shall not depart from thee, neither shall the covenant of my peace be removed, saith the Lord that hath mercy on thee.

Let this knowledge keep you in His perfect peace.
