Attacks

Pastor J. R. Wilhite, author   Close Window

We receive attacks from 3 sources:

  1. Directly from the enemy
  2. Indirectly from the enemy by others who do not realize Satan is manipulating them (a very large percentage of the world).
  3. Directly and indirectly by the enemy using what we say out of context to confuse those who are religious into thinking we are a threat to them and what they believe in.

Until people realize the thoughts they have are not their own and are from one of two sources only, they can be and will be used by Satan like puppets.

2 Corinthians 10

5. Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ;

I do not claim to be perfect or right, but God is perfect and right. Until a person is actually hearing from God they can not honestly say they are right about anything and are not puppets of Satan in some form or another. We can either believe what Paul said in 2 Corinthians 10:5 along with what Jesus said in John 14:26 as truth or not. But believing your thoughts are your own and you are of God without hearing from God is only lying to yourself. Only when we know that we are hearing from God and can verify what we read, hear, or think with Him can we be sure we are right. Until then we serve the world more than we serve God.

John 14

26. But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you.

You read that Paul said we are to cast down all imaginations. This includes any thought that exalts itself against God. How can you know what this is if you are not hearing from God. Why would Jesus tell us that we are to be taught all things, not just things of God and scripture but all things, by the Holy Spirit if it were not true. That being the case being taught by man contradicts that which Jesus said.

If this is how it always has been why should we change now? It is not the way it has always been. Look at why the Jews themselves could not see who Jesus was. The Jews were looking for a physical king, not a Spiritual King, so they missed it. They saw all of the physical only and nothing of the spiritual. Until the last half of the last century anyone who knew the truth could get it out to small groups but not on a large scale because of the lack of communication. Now with all the advances we have it can get out. Who do you think has kept this from the masses over the ages? It definitely was not God or not those who knew better.

In the 16th century a monk found and translated two books of the New Testament that were only known to the hierarchy of the church. When he did this he was considered an outcast and was even declared to be a danger. The fact was he had information that showed the church was keeping the whole truth from the masses and the church feared this getting out. Both books dealt heavily with the Spirit and faith that would give the people knowledge to realize that they do not need the church. The church could not let this happen.

When I talk about the church I am talking about the church of this world no matter what name is given to it. In Revelation 1-3 Jesus speaks of seven churches before the end and tribulation. Out of the seven only one was His church the rest were churches of this world. Churches today have very little difference from the one in the time that Jesus walked the earth. Both have people attending a service once a week to hear from a man of God and give their tithes and offerings.

Even the apostles did not understand Jesus’ meaning of the temple’s destruction and reconstruction as a reference to His death and resurrection. They thought He meant the physical building not the human body. What is sad is many know they are the church (temple) and that God is in them (Holy Spirit) but the truth is they know enough to be dangerous and nothing more.

Hosea 4

6. My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge: because thou hast rejected knowledge, I will also reject thee, that thou shalt be no priest to me: seeing thou hast forgotten the law of thy God, I will also forget thy children.

(Before you think the above does not refer to you read Revelation 1:6)

Many follow some form of the law and then justify it, but I say you are either of the law or grace. If you are any part of the law are you sacrificing animals for sin as the law dictates? It is convenient to take one part of the law but not another, but it does not work that way. If you choose the convenient way, you are of the world. We all know who the ruler of the world is, and it is not God.

Mark 12

28. And one of the scribes came, and having heard them reasoning together, and perceiving that he had answered them well, asked him, Which is the first commandment of all?

29. And Jesus answered him, The first of all the commandments is, Hear, O Israel; The Lord our God is one Lord:

30. And thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind, and with all thy strength: this is the first commandment.

31. And the second is like, namely this, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself. There is none other commandment greater than these.

When we judge others and do not forgive we are disobeying the commandments.

Matthew 7

1. Judge not, that ye be not judged.

2. For with what judgment ye judge, ye shall be judged: and with what measure ye mete, it shall be measured to you again.

3. And why beholdest thou the mote that is in thy brother's eye, but considerest not the beam that is in thine own eye?

4. Or how wilt thou say to thy brother, Let me pull out the mote out of thine eye; and, behold, a beam is in thine own eye?

5. Thou hypocrite, first cast out the beam out of thine own eye; and then shalt thou see clearly to cast out the mote out of thy brother's eye.

Jesus did not come to judge or condemn but to save. Who are we that we should do more than He?

John 3

17. For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved.

Salvation is based on forgiveness. Before we can be saved we have to forgive or we can not be forgiven.

Mark 11

25. And when ye stand praying, forgive, if ye have ought against any: that your Father also which is in heaven may forgive you your trespasses.

26. But if ye do not forgive, neither will your Father which is in heaven forgive your trespasses.

Before you think I am judging anyone think again. I am stating facts that anyone can take to God and verify with Him. Their words and actions judge them not me.

Matthew 12

36. But I say unto you, That every idle word that men shall speak, they shall give account thereof in the day of judgment.

  1. For by thy words thou shalt be justified, and by thy words thou shalt be condemned.

Many mistake their calling of God to the kingdom for salvation or growth or just a one on one with Him as a call to the ministry. They go forth and start a ministry and like so many before them they fail because it was never a call to the ministry. God is always calling out to us to have a relationship with Him.

With the help of the enemy Mankind has perverted God and His message. We have turned tribulation into His revenge and wrath when it is all about His love and desire for our salvation. Yes, He allows the antichrist to rule. That is to show the stubborn people that man ruling man without God is not the answer. Then He goes another step in hopes to reach the most stubborn of all people by allowing evil to rule man without God, always with the hope of their seeing how wrong this is. That is not wrath but love, not revenge, but salvation. Yes, He pours His wrath out for one hour after tribulation. Jesus describes God's wrath being poured out and states after tribulation this will happen in Matthew 24.

We try to use the parts of the law that suit us either for religion, politics, or just everyday life and ignore the rest. But you can not do that; either you are of all the law or of Grace but not both. The law dictates observing all the feasts but Jesus fulfilled all but one, the one about His return. The law dictates sacrificing animals and birds for sin, but Jesus was our sacrifice. Law was strict and harsh and was needed to point out sin and offered a bandage until God could fix the problem. God needed time to infuse enough of His word into the earth in order to get one to agree with Him by faith to bring Jesus into the earth (Luke 1).

It is your choice. No, Jesus did not remove the law; He fulfilled it. That which the law could not do He did. So you are either of the law or grace, of the church of Jesus or the church of this world. Do not fool yourself into thinking you can be of both.

What God offers is not a strict religious life but true freedom and the knowledge to realize you are free.
