The Great Division

Pastor J. R. Wilhite, author   Close Window

Since the beginning of time, there has been some sort of division in life. Either one is mamal or another is fish or reptile.

Then there is man and woman. This was supposed to be a division that was not. We are each only half of a whole, missing the other part. Together we become one.

Mankind became divided in many different aspects: color, belief system, what tribe we belong to; our blood type even divides us, so what is the big deal?

The more we are divided the less we can do. It becomes easier for evil to conquer us all.

Remember in the 70's when Apollo 13 had problems two days into its mission and the mission to land on the moon was canceled? No one was even sure they would make it back alive. During the four days that followed even the Soviet Union offered their fleet to supplement our ships at sea to help in case the Apollo craft landed in the wrong area.

It was four days when we were not divided. We all had a comon goal to work on the solution, pray for the astronauts, or just offer moral support. In those four days our concern was not on our own agenda, or about how to help self, but on three men in space.

That is how God meant it to be not self-centeredness, but selflessness. As Jesus offered His life for us, we should be willing to do the same for each other, no matter what skin color, religion, sex, or even sexual preference. That is right, I said not even sexual preference. We are supposed to hate sin, not sinners. We judge sin, not sinners. We love sinners, not sin. Remember the woman accused of adultery was brought out and Jesus did not judge her. He stated the first one without sin is who can cast the first stone.

So before you judge a person, no matter who it is, remember as you judge, you shall be judged. If Jesus would not judge, should we?

Division is of Hell itself. Even the Pharisees in the days of Jesus accused Him of being from Satan, since He cast out Satan's own. But Jesus stated, a house divided can not stand, and if I cast out in the name of the house I divide that house, But if I cast out in the name of God then heaven has come down to all.

Jesus warned us, do not judge. Do not allow yourself to be divided. Love and obey and everything would be fine.

We allowed division to come in. We are divided in our homes, our marriages, from our children, in our church, our comunity, our states, countries and the world itself. Politics, sex, color, you name it, there is a division for it, and look at where we are. You can see how the division is overcoming us.

I say now, as long as you believe in God and that Jesus died for your sins and you are clean by His blood, and try your best to get in contact with and stay in contact with God, then all the other rules and beliefs are for ways to divide us.

Division between us based on water baptism, comunion, if Mary's virginity, speaking in tongues; let me tell you it does not matter, as long as you are listening to God and following Him, He will give the right answer for all of us to follow and understand.

It is time we remove the walls, in our churches (get rid of clicks), and in our homes, in our neighborhoods, our politics and so forth.

Ok, some want abortion and some do not; is that any reason to kill? If they are wrong and they listen to God won't they stop? So instead of alienating them think, "what would Jesus have done?" Would He not have visited them, and loved them, too? So, if we can unite, even though we do not agree on all things and allow God to dictate what and how we do things, then don't you think it will change? IS not God big enough to handle all of this?

I listen to people argue over politics. I promise you that if one of their children is lost, both will join together to find that child. You say you are for helping the poor, but the other side is not. Is that true or is it that they see a different way to help. We are all God's children and we are blinded to real problems, by division. Our real problem is Satan. He is our enemy.

God is our Father, Satan is a perverse being trying to drag us all down to his depth and doing well by dividing us.

When there so many need our help in so many areas, but we are to busy arguing and not helping, don't you know this causes our Father (God) to weep.

There is a great darkness on this planet, and it has grown in the past 30 years 100 fold more than the past 2,000 years, and it is getting worse and worse daily.

Let's unite and overcome the darkness, before it overcomes us.

Sit down and write all the things you can think of that cause division and then write Jesus by each one, and see how many hold your attention and how many start fading away.
