Who Is - God Part II

Pastor J. R. Wilhite, author   Close Window

Is it money, things, Jesus, job, family, friends?

Or are you one of these looking for the truth in all the wrong places?

I know a lot of Christians who believe in UFO's and Aliens.

So what is so bad about that?

Not much until you expect them to come down and explain life.

Yes, that is what some believe, that aliens seeded this world, and in time will come back and see how their seed has done, and in time explain to us what life is about, or help us live forever.

Then there are those who believe that the aliens are still here, shaping us, molding us into what they want, or in time take over our bodies and live through us.

Let's not forget those who believe that if they do not get it right in this life then they get another chance. (They keep coming back until they do get it right.)

Then we have those who believe that when we die we become angels.

How about the ones who believe we become energy and join a cosmic energy field and float around space forever?

I have not even scratched the surface of what people believe.

Everyone has to have something they believe in. It is impossible to live life and think that when it is over that's it, and there is nothing more.

It is easier to believe that we either keep coming back in different forms or that there is a superior race that controls us and will deliver us from our lack of knowledge.

The latter is gaining in popularity in the past 30 years. Since we started sending men and women into space the belief in other life has grown.

It is much easier to believe in a race that one day, a long time ago, came here and planted their seed, and that they are in control, rather than believing in an all-powerful being Who is responsible for everything, and that we do not know what He looks like or what His realm is like.

Oh, yes the enjoying of Sci Fi movies and TV shows is leading us to a dangerous area.

Deep Space Nine tells of beings that are living in a wormhole and are Gods to the people of the planet nearest the wormhole. Here we see God mixed with aliens. Then Babylon 5 tells of many beliefs but over all there was a race of good and evil beings in control and that they both died off, and that man was going to grow into god like beings in a million years or so.

I have not even touched on other Sci Fi shows due to a lack of time and space, it would take hundreds of pages to cover them all.

Oh, I enjoy Star Trek and the X-Files, even though the X-Files may be the most dangerous of them all.

So why do I watch them? I believe if you know God and can look at something objectively and not allow it to control you, it is ok. Plus it keeps me in touch with what people believe and how far out they are.

Does the Bible tell of other beings or prove they do not exist?

No, there is no mention either way.

The problem is not in thinking that there may be life elsewhere. The problem is believing some alien is the superior being in control of our lives.

All I ask is that you evaluate what you watch and judge for your self what the writer of the show is trying to put in you, and do not allow anything in that goes against the Word of God.

Just remember that due to all these different beliefs, people in general need to hear the truth and want to hear the truth. The opening of X-Files is "The Truth is out there". What we need to do is help these people see the truth, not by craming it down their throats, but by love. First pray for them, then pray for direction for us.
